And Sakurai has also stated, multiple times, he isn't choosing the DLC. And to only buy the pass if you think it's a good value.

The thing is, FE is only known in the west BECAUSE of Smash. They were even planning on removing Marth and Roy from the western release because FE was completely unknown in the west, but Sakurai decided to leave them in and the rest is history.
