greatsword can be fine vs armor bro, just mordhau them with it

not everyone runs armor because armor costs points out of your limited total. if you want a bunch of good secondary/ranged weapons or special equipment, you won't be running full armor. On top of that, armor also doesn't provide particularly higher defense from damage anyway unless you choose to go full heavy armor, which costs a lot of points and slows you down.
in any given 5 man fight, 1 person will be wearing heavy armor, 3 people will be wearing a mix/match of heavy and medium and light armor, and 1 guy will be either an archer or a meme class like lute player/firepot spammer running around unarmoured
