I'm not thrilled about the unity aspect of it but I'm more then happy this game is getting a much needed breath of life into it. Also, it can have mods now.
Daggerfall and Morrowind are the two best games Bethesda has ever made and ever will make again.

The modding support is great and it's fun making mods for it, but if you have never played it before and want the best experience then play it on a Win98SE VM (way less bugs than dosbox). Unlike OpenMW for Morrowind, Daggerfall Unity takes a lot of freedom with how things look, should look like and should feel like.

Yeah but you kind of have to be creative when recreating an extremely pixelated game in a new engine.
Much of the game 'is' extremely broken. The dude spearheading this port updates his twitter whenever he fixes a bug from the original.

Yes. The graphics are kept as close to the vanilla as possible (You know, with being 3D and all) Op's pic is Daggerfall Unity with mods.
That's not actually a picture of DF unity. That's a test worldspace unconnected to the actual game using DF assets to show what it could look like using other lighting etc.

To be honest, I don't see much of a difference between op's pic and anyway except for maybe the lighting. It doesn't really matter anyway since they both look great. There are also pictures of the base game from the website here and here
It does but people are getting the wrong idea about what the game is thanks to OP. It's literally a 1:1 remake in unity with mod support and performance similar to morrowind. The only changes are bugfixes to things that were broken unintentionally in DF and left unfixed.
that's a different mod. The one in the OP is a mockup town using DF assets a guy made up in unity as a test demo. It's not even the same game, here's a video of it

OP here, I got that image from doing a quick Google image search for Daggerfall Unity and the title of the image was Daggerfall Unity Workshop. I wasn't trying to mislead people. It seemed fare when I got it.

Todd literally said in a taped interview that he made the sounds for the skeletons in Daggerfall. He even made the noise. Unless the Unity version is using a different sound bite, it's Todd Howard making that noise.
