This game unironically has such an incredible soundtrack. Considering this is a free game, so much love has gone into it. Best non purchase i've made.

The soundtrack is great but the game itself squanders it. They were counting on it becoming a cash printing machine like their mobile gacha games but they failed to realize gacha games stay relevant because everybody can access them from their phones which they always have and can put down at any time. The time investment to play the game clashes with the monetization they balanced the game around and the end result is the treadmill gets insanely steep and never plateaus.

War Ensemble>MILK>Candle Wolf>DIY

MILK was always my favorite, something about weaponized sports equipment is really fun both in concept and execution

I wish the bosses weren't so unfun

you never played LiD did you?

You don't gotta pay for jack shit, I have 300 hours into the PS4 version and 100 in the PC version.

You get Death Metals galore from TDM fights.

I agree, the game's style and characters have stayed with me just as much as the best RPGs' do

The major problem with this is the hackers galore on the pc version. I swear I have reported 5 people hackingquick rank 100, no damage/armor win and gung ho don't give a rats ass about it.

THE FUCK AR YOU TALKING ABOUT? i have 1000 hours in it and never met a hacker.

There are like THREE rank 100 bases apeeariong in the invasion list regularly and they are legit, and have been there for like months.

Dood you are talking out of your goddamned ass.

>You get Death Metals galore from TDM fights.
TDM is kind of bullshit at this point, and that's without mentioning the hackers.

Anyway, the game is fine until the post-game, which can be quite laborious. But finding new reasons to climb back on the treadmill is entertaining enough. Currently getting to grips with the M2G, knives make climbing to 100F so much more enjoyable. Guess I'll have to make an Attacker to really take advantage of it though.

I don't think you play on pc mate I have come across 2 hackers in the last month 1 from taiwan and 1 from spain. the only rank 100 who cheated was 247 I know this as he had his bank and sp at lvl 20 when I attacked him then the next day was lvl 50

the one from taiwan also done the same shit

Did they ever put some sort of antihack on the pc version? You could just straight up notepad edit .ini files that had engine variables in them.

they put in a specific exe that you coudln't hack for a while now you can get around that now by waiting for it to load completely and put in your cheat engine scripts

Can't you spend DMs to complete the bank without waiting? I mean, spending 60 DMs on completing your bank doesn't seem worth it to me, but whales gonna whale.

I'm considering doing what I can in the PS4 version. I've spent probably 10-12 hours on the game so far and I can't remember what I've done. Is it worth the time to continue on console or am I better off playing PC? Any suggestions concerning platform or play through would be appreciated.

I love the general style of the game and had a lot of fun with it for the first 20 or so floors but holy fuck did it become a terrible grindfest after that. I wish it had just been a full priced game so they could have avoided the mobile gaming shit.

Downloaded the game.
Gameplay was shit, but I stayed for the soul.
Got to the mid 20s. But the grind was too much. Went two weeks not getting a single DoD Green. Had to cut it off there.

Attached: 1538971551163.png (600x519, 226K)

yes, but doesn't make sense to do it sense you get it upgraded with kill coins and one of the cheats was to have your upgraded stuff instantly complete. I know because I have been cheating on another account to see what works and what doesn't

is there a version without the sound effects? kinda ruins such a good song

This is how I feel. Even if someone defends it and says how easy Death Metals are to get etc and you don't need to pay a cent, it doesn't change the fact of the game's structure/monetization to begin with. I'd have gladly spent $60 and have it been a regular game, as opposed to a free-to-play one

Why didn't you just buy them with KC? Anyway, they made it better now, as haters have a chance to drop chests with faction metals in them.

I kept going to spots where the shop showed up and it was always either absent or didn't have Dod Green.
Kept running chests in 11-19 and never get DoD Green. And I ran out of quests that would grant me DoD Green. I wasn't gonna keep sacrificing my evenings any longer.

You upgrade it with SPlith not KC. Which makes it more unlikely that those guys did it legitimately, since you need like 18 million SPlith or something equally crazy.

Shops appear on Omoki and Yukiyoshi guaranteed on Wednesday & Sunday. Omoki has blue/green faction metals, and Yukiyoshi has black/red faction metals. That's what I meant by buying them.

Wouldve been a great game if it was coop, keep the bullshit difficulty that kicks in at the carnival stages and beyond and just let players work together to surmount it. I was absolutely loving the game up until I found I had to do some bullshit grind just to get weapons that dont break after a few hits. Playing it like a 3rd person shooter where you have to manage ammo was alot of fun.

This game wouldve been stellar and still active if it was Coop I reckon.

It's alright till the post game where the random drop grind kicks in. Not fun taking 2 hours to reach floor 100 for a random chance of getting the metals and roids you want. Also praying Crowley or Jackson 2 don't show up and ruin your shit.

And then you realize that the game becomes complete trash after floor 20

You cant even buy them with actual money can you? If I could spend a one time payment and buy out what I need to get over the grind I would do it, the game is something Ive always wanted and that shit just pisses on it. I want more rougelites that arent 2d bullet hells.

just saw that this game is actually on steam.

I thought it was only on PS4? is it worth checking out?

It's worth a go, yeah. Kind of janky, but relatively solid with a good style. Honestly, one of GHM's better games.

Its free, if youre looking for something to play its worth a try. Just know that once you hit floor 20 the grind hits hard, if you dont like it by that point you should probably stop there, its actually good until it happens.

Have they ever fixed the memory usage? I really really enjoyed playing Let It Die, I got up to Floor34 or 35 I was getting one shotted by that blind fucker mini-boss last time I played

I had to stop playing because it's such a huge commitment. It takes several minutes to load up the game and it constantly uses 8GB of ram. I wish I could just leave the game running idle and just play it for minutes at a time throughout the day, but my meager 12GB of ram isn't enough to comfortably leave it running all of the time. I would love to get back to the climb if they fixed the memory usage.

35*
20 is fine, you just have to get an iron/any blunt weapon to curbstomp all the enemies there. it's 35 where enemies get armor that's about 800-900 points more defensive than it was on the floor beforehand, weapons that will one shot you in t3 armor+4, and other bullshit.

is it too late to start playing this game on PC? I heard the grind is pretty bad.

Death metals? You can buy them with money. They're $0.50 each. The thing is that's literally pointless because there's only one thing worth spending them on, expanding your inventory. You get enough of those for free.

You could use them to skip the grind, but it's such a rip off. First you have to hope the metal you want even shows up in the machine. Second is price; a pack of 5 endgame tier metals is around 50 DM.

Attached: you know some whale bought this.png (149x182, 42K)

The multiplayer component isn't that important so you can play it whenever.

The casual filter is floor 23. The real grind is at floor 40 and beyond.

this game is the definition of style over substance. Damn shame too, over haul the game play and it'd be amazing

but is the grind fun? or is it crap like, start a level, grab a chest, and reset, repeat for 50 hours for a minimal sidegrade so you can climb one more level?

nope the only solution is to close and reopen. It does eat up 12gb+ after 5hrs on. You could just turn off some of the effects to get it down to 10gb

it's never too late. The only "unfair" thing in Let It Die that you need to be aware of will be when an enemy player invades your game (controlled by AI, mind you) with a poison shuriken weapon.Poison shuriken hits fucking hard, the poison ticks really put you on a time limit, and you become completely immobilized while your character stops to puke out the poison.

If you see a fan-looking weapon in their hand, be ready for it.

Attached: Cyclone_Shuriken_4[1].png (434x202, 143K)

Does the steam version have dual audio? I don't like the dub in the trailer.

If you focus on building one set of weapons and armor you can reach past floor 40 with no trouble. And the only thing you have to grind for is materials not dods, milk, candlewolf, war ensembles as they can be brought up to purple

These weapons become crap once you reach endgame and are useless. except for pits but by that time you want to have the kamas up and uncapped.

yes it has dual audio

so what's the best set of weapons and armor I should build to avoid the grind?

"the grind" is the whole bloody point of the game. It's a skinnerbox where you get shots of dopamine finding items and slowly building up your dudes and your base.

I've put more hours into both versions than you do. The game is balanced around the monetization. This is not a debate.

That isn't what I'm getting at. What I'm saying is that people get TERRORIZED by invaders with shuriken early on in their playthrough.

holy fuck, why aren't there more games with a REAL soundtrack like this? outside of shit like racing games it's always some dumb midi crap and shitty techno/trance garbage, this are actual music tracks from fucking great bands I want to listen all day and wouldn't be so embarassed to listen in public.

>somewhere out there is a parallel world where this game wasn't F2P

You just don't get industrial

I like NIN, does that count as industrial? I just don't like the windows crashing effect, it's not even a good window crashing effect, it hurts my ears and fucks the whole thing.

>there are people who still think you gotta spend a lot for this game

its more of a grinding game, and it wouldnt change a damn thing

What kind of hacks are there for this game? Can I just get a shittonne of money?

>Floor 1-10
Get the machete, it's fast, does decent damage and has a ridiculous 4 hit combo. It can carry you all the way to floor 20 if you keep upgrading it.
You should also get the iron because it fucking melts bosses later on.
>Floor 11-20
You should probably get some decent armor now, there are lots of enemies with ranged weapons in these floors that will destroy you if you don't. The machete is great here since most enemies wear armor that's weak against slash damage.
Floor 16 has a dangerous boss, but you also unlock a new fighter tier in this floor so you'll be ok as long as you level up a new fighter.
>Floor 21-30
This is the point where regular mobs become a real danger. You'll need slash resistant armor, the Sengoku and Priest sets are good choices and be obtained between the floors 11-20.
Most enemies are now resistant to slash damage, so abandon the machete in favor of the iron.
Floor 23 has another dangerous boss that can one shot you, here's where you must obtain the power of the mushrooms (Seriously get some mushrooms) and have an upgraded iron.
>Floor 31-40
Now the real pain starts, everything fucking kills you and you do no damage, also dying costs a shit ton. Don't leave your base without supplies.
My favorite weapon for this section is the katana, great moveset, damage and reach. But at this point you can get the materials for any weapon you want. Also your iron should be a weapon of mass destruction by now if you've been upgrading it.
Climbing from 33-37 is kind of hard but after that reaching floor 40 is rather easy.

Sounds shit.

>dying costs a shit ton
fuck, like you lose money you have saved or something? there's no way around this? what if you're broke? you can no longer play?

based

absolutely cringe

you just make a new character

what exactly do you lose by making a new character? you have no items/weapons/armor saved or something?

I played the game a couple months ago on PC since people gave such weird reviews of it all the time. I played it for about three weeks and beat all the content prior to the weird floors that were just filled with haters who absolutely bodied the fuck out of you and figured you were supposed to stop by then. I never spent a dime on the game and had more than enough space for hoarding all sorts of crafting garbage, upgrading multiple dudes to 5star as well as their equipment. I think if you went into it randomly upgrading gear and desperately trying to maximize all items then yeah you're going to have a fucking awful time grinding out shitloads of resources but I just picked weapons I liked and used them from the getgo and practically nothing else. Buzzsaw/Metal Bat/Flaming Sword/Revolver/Kamas? I think the assault rifle. At no point did I feel pressured to grind for anything except for I think one type of metal since it was like drop only and not from bosses/specific floor rooms. I think it was like green milk metal but I honestly can't remember.

The only thing I could really do with MTX was more inventory space and I guess more stickers? But I already had every sticker I wanted outside of absurd minmaxing combos. I played with the /vg/ thread clan and we destroyed everything in PvP including california so I dunno dude. I don't think it was that bad of an experience as people think it was. I feel people who tried to play the game for like 2+ years and keep it interesting eventually just hate it because there wasn't anything to do except grind for shit to upgrade otherwise garbage equipment for no real reason.

Characters have individual stats/levels. You will regularly make new dudes as you unlock new character types and higher star characters. There is no reason to play as a 1star character if you have 2star characters etc. The more stars a character has the higher his/her effective stats so they're just objectively better. granted all characters start at level 1, so you need to level them up individually but realistically that means like 1 run with someone to get them to max level. It's really not hard at all. If they die you can "retrieve" them by bringing another character to where they died and killing them. They will be a hater and will use gear they had when they died. Otherwise you can pay cash to instantly grab them from your freezer but the cost goes up depending on how deep in the tower they are. There was never a point that I was exploring without enough money to get my man back though, since I was constantly upgrading my bank. The only thing you really use cash for is buying stickers in the mushroom pot, and buying your dudes back. 90% of the time when my dude died and I paid to retrieve him, I made all the cost back since he would have cash on him that I would then get.

>is there a version without the sound effects?
That's the song dipshit.

I want a sequel but not f2p. Retail $60 with better visuals and actual co op. Day 1 buy.

I wish i could buy it full price and play without moronic grind.

Does post 40 still revolve around farming KC and looping between the two shops over and over and over again until you finally upgrade to a decent weapon like the Longsword or Katana? It seems like it's really rough to come back to the game and the mushroom nerf put me off completely.

When you die you can either.
1. Use a DM to revive immediately.
2. Go retrieve your character with another one
3. Pay KC to recover it with their inventory intact.
The cost in KC is about 200K at that point.

if you die while trying to retrieve the corpse the first corpse dies and you lose his items?

When you die, your fighter becomes a hater and roams the floor you died on. By retrieving I meant going to that floor and killing them, that returns them to your fighter freezer for free but they lose all their items.
So if you had a lot of important materials and stuff it's better to pay instead.

SHOW ME YOUR BLOODY EYYYYYYYYYEES

ah that's ok I guess, it's the same if they die to a boss?

Yes.
Also if the Jackals kill you then your only choice is paying kill coins. If you hear a siren, RUN.

is it worth upgrading cleaving saber to +14? I can do 1 milk weapon at the moment to + 14

>free game
>pay2win
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

That was one of the weapons that got nerfed hard in the uncap update. I wouldn't recommend it.

what weapon do you recommend with milk then?

Can't believe nobody posted the best song

I love this game, but I'm really tempted to cheat away item durability
I don't care about grinding for materials or decals, but I can't stand going through both armor and weapons like crazy
The cost of both at higher tiers is crazy too

Attached: 1556151367960.jpg (381x275, 10K)

The two most people mess with are the Motor pyscho for the rage move. Also the pitching machine for blunt ranged damage, so shooters can cheese down certain bosses.

The bat is good for base raiding cheese, but you don't need to upgrade it to take advantage of that.

just turn it off when you do tdm and you should be fine

not even reading a single post, just posting the best track in the game

I have the tdm motor pyscho upto +12, I might just do the pitching machine for the cheese.
Thanks for the advice

I got into this game when it launched, barely got anywhere, but dropped it due to picking up other games.

What advice do you guys have if I start again? Is there a definitive "end" point to the game?

If this game was made to just be like, a real game, instead of F2P it probably would have been a goty contender. But after you get to the final floors it's just a slog. And after beating the final boss any motivation to keep going dries up pretty quick.

Attached: JOHNNY.jpg (640x406, 21K)

You do you, but durability is a core mechanic of the game. Equipment gets weaker the less durability it has, and the burning status effect is specifically designed to destroy equipment.

Also this youtube.com/watch?v=njd13iubfLA

Attached: 1481764062842.webm (260x264, 22K)

I guess I wouldn't mind Durability as much if I could just repair my shit without the need of rare Shrooms
It just sucks doing a material run, only for all the money I gathered to go directly re-buying destroyed equipment
Needing to buy multiple of 1 item sucks ass as well, especially with stupid time periods in-between buying

F40

Is there a point where the Jackals become easy to fight?

people who think the f2p model in Let it Die was acceptable are the cancer killing games

loved this game, have hundreds of hours in it but the post-game is kinda bullshit in hindsight and not really worth playing

this was permanently my waiting room music

Attached: 1539821545591.jpg (800x450, 59K)

>Considering this is a free game, so much love has gone into it.

Yeah it's totally love and passion, not a common by now business practice to hook up players and making them pay through other methods

>dude just grind for 100 hours

they added infinite floors above 50F and I think the grind loop up there is better than in the 40s that is, until you get to the actual rare shit like platinum metals

It was fine till post 40, after that point most non vanilla builds require set decals to really function

Playing this game felt like some mental experiment.

Japan is truly fucked

I have a weird history with this game
>computer broke just before it came out
>no PC for a few weeks
>browse Yea Forums in the meantime
>let it die threads fucking EVERYWHERE non stop
>get computer back
>download let it die
>check Yea Forums & /vg/
>not a mention of let it die
It was as if it never fucking existed. From EVERYONE talking about it, to just fucking gone from the face of the earth.

I haven't played the game, but browsing for gameplay I saw a video on how to farm jackals, so imagine they're at least farmable at some point. The guy was throwing an item in the ground, and the jackal would get baited into it, and then the guy would smash them from behind with some sort of 2h hammer and take away most of their health, then just baited them into attacking and killed them in 1-2 extra hits with a different weapon.

>dude just play the game
Okay?

By the time I got to 40F I could crush the shit out of the jackals at 10F and lower so yeah eventually
there are stronger jackals though

think I got to like 28F before the wait time for crafting weapons exceeded my interest in continuing
waste of a great aesthetic

what was wrong with it? Spending money is retarded since it takes literal hundreds of dollars to get anything even close to decent. The game is about grinding.

Because the game came out in 2016, anyone who wanted to actually play it played it then. PC version was a novelty cause it had 0 protection on any of it's assets. You could rip all the songs, models, everything, and hack it with 0 way to be stopped. It was a total fucking joke. Then people got bored when other people started hacking tdm and it became impossible to play.

I didn't actually know it came out before. I have never heard of it.

I like Midnight Worry Game

so you can cheat on the steam version?

yes you have to wait till your in lobby then use open process on cheat engine and load up the script

you can post proof anytime dipshit.

>nu-Yea Forums unironically supports f2p grind simulators
oy vey

>You could rip all the songs, models, everything
>models
why is there no sfm of the yes/no or elevator girl?

There's still cheaters on PC? That's ironic considering how many legit accounts Gung Ho killed when going ban-happy.

I put in around 2k hours across both versions, and the main game (1-40) is completely fine without paying. They even made it far easier than it was at launch by massively increasing the KC gain in early floors and preventing high level haters from spawning on every floor. They also changed the Jackals ganking you on smaller floors, and gave them a universal spawn timer.

The only time paying really helps a lot is in Tengoku, because having the extra express pass inventory slots is extremely beneficial when you're dedicating 3-6+ hours for 100+ runs.

Sounds like poor mans Fall of Troy
