The reason this is bad is you're basically shooting for the entire game. And with this control scheme, you can't jump&dash while shooting easily

And in run&guns, the thumb transfer between A and Y is fucking awkward as hell

my strategy was to jump and dash until there was an opening in the boss pattern , then from a standing position get a flurry of shots in and repeat. I still had fun

I agree with very little of this. Hilda, Cagney and the Express were relatively simple for me but Wally, Grim and Kohl fucked me repeatedly.

This game isn't hard, i could beat almost every boss in the first tries, but perfecting some was fucking IMPOSSIBLE, almost all second isle was will crushing, that fucking clown, genie, candy lady and dragon left me with ptsd

The dragon wasn't that bad. The roundabout makes short work of his 1st and 3rd phases, and the lobber makes short work of his second phase. Perfecting him was annoying but wasn't PTSD inducing.

It wasn't that bad once I learned to look for where the fireballs were jumping from.
