I generally like to refine my game ideas by writing them down, even if I might never make them. I might try to attempt making it over the summer.

Ideas are worthless if you can't turn them into reality. All the shit you're writing down is like planning what kind of plates and knifes you're going to use in the kitchen of the house that you haven't even started building yet.

I've done several scripting projects in the past. I know I don't have all of the skills I need, but I'm planning on learning C# to make a base game that will interface with a Python content system.

Do you like this pattern for the seats of my moon rocket? I've driven a car before. I know I don't have all of the skills I need, but I'm planning on learning rocket science to make a simple rocket that runs on 4 car engines.

Get close to making the game first before you start asking for critiques.
I was an ideas guy too, but I'm putting the finishing touches on my novel and I too had some semi-related skills (like writing songs, poems, and short stories), but I was not even remotely prepared to write a novel.
Do the work. Avoid talking about it as much as you can and just do it.

**Art and** ideas guy. I've done commission work for people in the past. My 3d modeling is *okay enough* for low-poly, blocky stuff. My art skills, well, some people thought they were worth something.

Pretty much flies a pre-made ship around the galaxy to collect and enslave as many space ladies as possible. He saves the best for himself and sells most of them into slavery. Keeps his “cargo” contained in a variety of unconventional (and probably degrading) ways. Probably only plays single player, but may play co-op with his friend work to work the technical stuff for him.
You can sell it on this feature alone. But it sounds like you wana make it a community driven free open-sores project.

If you're an 'ideas guy' I would suggest detailing mechanics, not just say something and move on. Like if you're talking about an XP progression system, explain what things give how much XP and what XP milestone rewards you get.
