Best cinematic game ever
fuff you OP
Mad at what? At MP3 being a great game? Mad at a series finale?
Mad about it being good?
>buh its nud liek duh udduh gamuhs b4 it.......
kys
It's not good though.
Yeah, it's not good, it's great.
im mad they decided to have unskippable cutscenes and the story and setting are shit
but im glad the gameplay is so fucking amazing and it has the best level and moment in the entire series with that fucking airport
yeah, nothing has topped Max Payne 3 since its release. sad state of the industry and third-person shooters in general.
It's probably the best singular gameplay experience R* has ever produced
This game is great to play with a controller when you have auto-aim enabled, not even joking.
About what?
Ignore the retarded OP. Post best moment in the game
>hardmode: no airport
About what? Best gameplay in the series
>best gameplay in the series
>weapon limit
>designed around using the cover system
The shootout at the police station.
I wish the game was all NJ levels instead of hueland. The airport was kino though.
>I wish the game was all NJ levels instead of hueland.
Me too, NJ was a much more kino setting than São Paulo.
>unskippable cutscenes
Hidden loading screens, you can skip many cutscenes.
I love the Panama section. Been awhile since I played through but the music and Max's disgust at the senseless murder of innocents was very engrossing.
Should I buy or pirate this game? I assume the multiplayer is pretty much dead at this point.
GLUE
yeah if you like shootan games max payne is very satisfying. niggas whomst cant aim will be flustered though
police station
Graveyard level was incredible
shooting young brazillian kids in the midst of underage whores. good level.
The gameplay was great.
The story was okay.
The only issue was the setting. I preferred the film noir style of the first two games. But Max Payne 3 was still a solid game.
mad bout what? it is pretty good, yeah linear but still good
I'm not. I replayed it a few months ago and it's still a great game. Health soundtrack is probably one of the best vidya soundtrack to come out in years.
>Max Payne 3
>No noir
>mad at one of the kinoest vidyas of all time
faggot
only thing one could be mad about is the multiplayer, so sad that something so great is that dead and anything like it is also dead(double action :( )
Probably because LA noir sucked.
This
First favela entrance with bald Max was pretty great. Blasting kids in sports gear and flip flops in their shanty homes.
it could have been a lot worse, but yeah it was disappointing.
I don't think that's true. There are cutscenes that go on for minutes at a time and lead directly into gameplay. These cutscenes cannot be skipped
youtube.com
Probably the last good game R* will ever make.
>he doesnt know what neo noir is
Hotel was kino, the screaming synths that play after Serrano guts the doctor are heart wrenching. I'd post it but the cunt who uploaded the entire soundtrack layer by layer got demonetized on youtube and deleted all of his videos in a sperg rage.
youtube.com
thank god someone else uploaded part of it. the very start until 2:23 ONLY plays after that cutscene, and then stops as soon as you pick up the C4. shouldve been on the ost
>die
>rewatch a very lengthy and unskippable cutscene
>finally regain control of Max
>instantly die again
>designed around a cover system
>check stats after a couple of playthroughs
>kills from behind cover: 12
>Game actually takes it easy on you if you keep dying and gives you health and ammo
Weebshitter btfo, git gud
hes lying anyways, not a single checkpoint occurs during an unskippable cutscene
source: 348 hours played
>designed around using the cover system
>implying
It's gunplay is better than most fps desu.
>plays on the dynamic difficulties
>tells others to git gud
Fuck's sake, user.
And ironically much better than the gameplay in GTAV too.
Should I play the first 2 games before this?
*blocks your path*
It is true. If you wait long enough, most can be skipped
When you finally kill everyone on the rooftop of that deserted building, with the surgeon.
>Doesn't have cloudsaves
So yes, some of my playthroughs are on whatever difficulty I feel like when "losing" my saves. Only time I've noticed is when I kept shooting Passos in the head when he's held hostage in the cemetery for shits and giggles.
Play 2 then 3 then 1 then replay 3 then 1 and 2, play 2 2 times replay 1 but don't finish it and play 3 but stop playing when you shoot 100 bullets.
Yes. They are integral to Max's storyline, and are also really fucking good games to boot.
fucking zoomers
I'd say yeah. They've aged like fine wine really. Most old games have some janky ass gameplay but that is not the case for Max Payne 1 and 2 at all.
Although 2 is kinda shit, if you start off not liking it I'd say just skip it. Its retarded story and characters are ignored by everyone, even in 3.
3 was absolutely amazing for taking screenshots
fuck it i'm reinstalling
>Best cinematic game ever
The word "cinematic" literally describes the entire problem with the game, though. The shooting mechanics are tight as hell, but the unskippable cut scenes absolutely destroy the flow of the game and make replays even more unbearable. If the cutscenes were skippable, I would have replayed the game a dozen times by now. Instead, I only played it once. They weren't even good the first time, so why would I watch them again and again? On that note, the story isn't good. They completely fucked up Max's character. Moreover, in addition to the cut scenes being too numerous, it's all for nothing because there's so much filler in them, with Max repeating the same "hurr durr I'm so worthless" monologue a dozen times.
If they had just put Max Payne 3's gameplay mechanics into a game with the same format as Pax Payne 1 and 2, it would have been perfect. Instead they decided to make the gameplay a footnote to the shitty interactive movie that the designers so obviously wanted. Whoever made that decision should have just worked on a sequel to the Mark Wahlberg film instead.
The office level was pretty kino.
Personally, I just wish it wasn't a Max Payne game.
FAL best assault rifle, fite me irl
>million-billion dollar company
>still refuses to develop a control scheme that's actually responsive and isn't enslaved to the physics engine and completing animations
What possesses them to do such a thing, lads?
Anyone know what shirt this is? Wanna cop something like it.
if it wasnt a max payne game it wouldnt have half the things that make it great. it would be missing:
>Max's dialogue
>Bullet time
>Shoot dodging
>A well balanced progression from unarmored, inaccurate enemies, to helmeted special forces
>Hundreds of destructible items, cover, and walls
>Dual wielding
>A boss that requires you to think outside of just "shooting the enemy", and instead shoot something else
All of this and more are inspired by the previous games. I really hate it when people say its "not a good Max Payne game" when so much of it actually IS taken straight from 1 and 2.
the updated modern version tears shit up in game
>>Bullet time
>>Shoot dodging
>>A well balanced progression from unarmored, inaccurate enemies, to helmeted special forces
>>Hundreds of destructible items, cover, and walls
>>Dual wielding
yeah because no other game has those
lmao my dude
actually, i cant even name any other game with bullet time and shoot dodging
NYMH is great
absolutely. and also replay 1 with the kungfu mod.
I don't care about what anyone says about this game, as a Brazilian and a long time Max Payne fan it filled my all my fantasies of shooting favelado-niggers in the middle of São Paulo (even if it looked way more like Rio de Janeiro).
Max Payne 1>MP 3>MP 2
a button down shortsleeve?
what the fuck is all that gore, what happened
Becker didn't explode so good
didnt even realize that was him
have you not played 3?
yeah i have 31 hours in it
You missed the point of my post. I wasn't saying that those are things that ONLY appear in Max Payne games. I'm saying that those features are innate to Max Payne games, and as such the developers chose to take inspiration and implement them. Without the Max Payne series name, the game would run the risk of just being another boring cover shooter with some fancy wound and sweat simulation.
there's only one person you kill who gets that torn up and it's a special character.
Cemetery level where the goons attack Max and the only thing that saves him from the hail of bullets is the gravestone of his wife and daughter.
Fair enough.
a lot of people miss this
:(
Yes but you'll need widescreen patches for the first two (assuming you're not playing on a 4:3 screen).
It's ironic because Max Payne has always been a fusion of Noir with John Woo films, making it "cinematic" before the term became associated with cutscene driven movie-games.
