right take: he did much wrong but given A)his upbringin B) the world is ACTUALLY FUCKED he did the best he could do. If anything that dumbass of Rando should have stopped being a fucking pussy and actually explained his fucking mission wasnt to rape buddy. there was a lot of miscomunication that lead to even worse choices.
Hold me, Buddy...
true
He did a lot of shit wrong, most of it before the game even starts
Reminder that lisa the joyful showed that Marty forced him to rape and abuse lisa with him
Alex is better
who the fuck is alex?
I don't think it's fair to blame Brad for things he did under Marty's coercion.
I think abandoning Dusty and insisting that he be the one to look after Buddy instead of Rando despite his violent drug addiction are probably his biggest issues though.
Be honest.
Did you hug Brad?
I've run the game several times, I swap it up depending on my mood. At that point I doubt canon Buddy would bother hugging him considering even when she is beyond madness she only ever strikes out at "him". Which is probably the closet thing to a hug she can give anyone considering her upbringing.
The mc of Lisa The Pointless
Yeah. And I think "Did I do the right thing?" left on this first and last hollow gesture of affection is a much stronger bittersweet moment
I've probably bought LISA for like 10+ people at this point, and it feels like the only people who cried are the ones who hugged brad
It was the drugs that caused him to be callous in the first place. Seeing Dusty with his face torn off and actually not caring at all about it is one of the lowest moments in his life but I am certain he was high out of his mind at the time.
Was different with Lisa, as a kid I doubt he was popping yet and he probably has vivid memories of those nights. Painful Brad doesn't even seem to remember who Dusty even was. Drugs are a hell of a drug.
I interpreted Brad leaving the dojo less as him not caring about Dusty at all, and more about him just wanting to immediately turn and run away from the past that was catching up to him after he had spent so long trying to escape it.
But I guess we never get his internal thoughts on it either way.
>implying
Alex's current backstory is this:
>Learned martial arts like Brad.
>Jobbed in his first tournament
>Faked his suicide to isolate himself because FUCK
Hopefully the Monster Update fixes that and hopefully also gives light on what the fuck the "Principum vitae" represents in Alex's consciousness.
>Not hugging him
The man was on his knees, minutes away from dying and becoming a mutant. Fuck what Buddy thinks, he's begging for a hug so poor Brad gets his damn hug.
Lisa is unironically one of my favorite characters in fiction
I think sawing your face off(?) is too edgy though
Its callous either way. His intention was to do nothing for Dusty, whether it was a lack of care or too much care doesn't matter too much. I just assume it was drugs because well, it's Brad we're talking about here. I have uncles a lot like druggy Brad and everything they do is about drugs. So maybe it's my bias.
>fuck what buddy thinks
It was Brad that got her into that mind frame to begin with.
Nothin' like a little abused girl to get the sympathies and intellectually charged paternal instincts flowin'.
I don't think it's far fetched for The Painful Buddy to hug him.
The Joyful buddy does a complete 180 in terms of violent aggression though, she wasn't going to hug anyone.
Still doesn't excuse how much of a bitch Buddy became.
>Lisa kept getting raped by his dad
>Brad was forced to fuck Lisa
>All the women dies
>Brad becomes a chicken mother to Buddy in fear she'll get a worse fate than Lisa
>Make sure she's strong and kept hidden from everyone
>If it wasn't for Brad, she's have a worse fate, kept locked to be a fucktoy to all the men of Olathe with barely any real chance of survival
Brad only did his best for buddy
No you are right, being raised to trust no one and to kill without a thought doesn't excuse her attitude.
Almost getting raped several times by people you where told to trust kind of does though.
I agree that he did the best that he could. But his best is hardly a standard anyone should live by, or have to live by in any case.
MILITARY GRADE DRUGS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO MAKE WOMEN INTO MONSTERS
SHE LITERALLY SEES CONSTANT HALLUCINATIONS OF HER DEAD DAD
SHE WAS FUCKING INSANE
REEEEEEEE
Eh out of indifference maybe yeah. She had to get really fucked up on drugs before she could even begin to deal with how she feels about Brad so at that point I don't think she felt anything for him. Or at least, she didn't let herself feel anything.
MILITARY GRADE DRUGS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO MAKE MEN INTO MONSTERS
HE LITERALLY SEES CONSTANT HALLUCINATIONS OF HIS DEAD SISTER
HE WAS FUCKING INSANE
REEEEEEEE
Yeah not until the fucking end when she had to hear from Buzzo that Brad wasn't as evil as she thought he was. I guess she trusted Buzzo despite that?
user, even if the standard seems like shit, it was the best he could in a land where all the men are ready to kill each others just to lock free pussy in place
"Trusted no one" she fucking trusted Buzzo when he said Brad was a good father but not from her actaul father right there when he was dying.
He could have let her call him dad.
I'm not convinced she trusted him, she listened to him.
What do you consider the canon ending in joyful?
She takes the pill. I can't see Buddy willfully losing control of herself like that. The most important thing to her is her safety and becoming a mutant is an unknown in that regard.
And you still aren't convinced she trusted Buzzo's words despite keeping mutant Brad and probably having a kid with it?
She had no reason to not keep Brad, and she had the kid with the man who raped her. Always forget his name though....
Where was the yesterday reminder
But she wasn't raped. She said so herself. The guy that killed Rando was killed by a mutant before he could rape her.
She said she wasn't touched by Sticky. She never said she wasn't raped. It wouldn't make any sense for her to use Brad to have a kid anyway and it's not within her character on top of that.
Idk all the men in the world are dead. Beggars can't be choosers.
what was the ball on his head tho

What a good actual convo.
One of these things i think
Rando fucked the world over more; Brad isn't really the one at fault, and shouldn't be shouldered the blame since the issues around him weren't constructed by him.
During my first playthrough? After having Brad try and be a better person, suffering emotionally and phisically through all of it? Having to headbutt his father to death because both of his arms were taken to save others?
No.
It just felt right, the cherry on top of the shitcake, all of his efforts not being enough to change who he had been up until that point, and Buddy not being able to trust him was just the way to show it
Brad really did try his best with Buddy. Like it wasn't the greatest obviously but the alternative is being actually caged and used as a sex slave to try to pop out kids to "save humanity" when it's already too late with one little girl left and the majority of them having taken joy and going to become mutants. Rando can't even control all of his men properly so odds are she would've been taken if she was in there eventually.
Dr. Yado wins worst person ranking.
Yado > Marty > Buzzo >>>>>> Brad > Buddy > The guy who put his gasoline bucket next to his orphans > Rando
