I don't deny that the cancer of lootbox matchmaking bans for toxicity DLCfest all-servers-company-run 20tickrate faggotry exists.
But we also have an indie scene that's skyrocketing, with games such as Hollow Knight, Undertale, Factorio, and a big chunk of whatever you can find on DLsite and Humble.
Personally I'm willing to pay more for a decent game that I can host locally and modify than a locked-down shekelsucker. Mostly because I'm not willing AT ALL to pay for the shekelsucker.

One thing I would like to see more of is indie -multiplayer- games. Factorio, Terraria, and older versions of Minecraft exist, but we could do with more.
It's a shame Warsow died because an arena shooter with local hosting and server joining that can't be blocked by any company is some gr8 stuff.
CS 1.6 still exists but at this point that's a game that's older than most of the people who play it, and there's probably enough room for more multiplayer indie titles.

Maybe my optimism isn't well-founded, but I see some potential in games' future to improve. Though I hope this trend of everything having a fucking launcher can fuck right off, because that lets a 3rd party (Epic, Valve, EA, etc) block access to your games, and fuck that shit.
