Most eurobeat is in rhythm games, Specifically Sound Voltex. I'm not a fan of SDVX because you usually end up making the song sound like shit. DJ Max has good eurobeat too

As for games that aren't assetto corsa that are good for drifting, The best Initial D simulator bar none is of course Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2, or Kaido battle 3 as it's known in japan. Its easily emulated. For PS4, GT sport is good for drifting. PC fans will be right at home in GT sport because like a PC game, GT Sport has nearly zero fucking content.

The initial D Arcade games are meh at very best, and trash at worst. Mountain Vengance being the worst of course, Arcade stage 8 being the best. The arcade stages can be emulated with teknoparrot, or played at any US round 1. Cards are no longer available at R1.

A very shallow and brainlet opinion. The reason Eurobeat is so interesting is due to its formulaic structure. It's a genre that kind of doesn't make sense from a composition standpoint. How can you take such a repetitive genre and make it work? By taking every little piece of that structure and crafting some neat shit out of it. That's why, despite all the music being at the same ballpark of tempo and having the same structure, I can tell apart a song almost instantly.

I'm not saying the memes aren't cancer, I'm well aware. It's hard to be an unironic Initial D fan without dealing with a few memes, but it doesn't bother me enough to dismiss everything instinctively.

I think taking away the production method hurts the song a little bit. It's a good version, but the original and the song I linked here have vocals that are produced by sampling the vocals and playing them out instead of just recording the song. I wanna say it was due to technical limitations, but it was cool as hell regardless. It turns "Daytona" into "Deh-EE-Toh-Naaa-a-a-a-a" and it adds a lot of charm by being a really clever technique.

I should talk about the game i want to make. Racing games are well beyond my scope though. I'm a mechanic, not a programmer.

It's a cross between tokyo Xtreme Racer and sekai no yami zukan. You start out racing normal human opponents with spirit bars to determine win//lose, but as the game progresses, supernatural shit begins to appear. You start racing against oni trying to protect their mountains, onryos that attack you in the middle of races, and revanant racers that died long ago that award you with vintage street racing cars if you manage to beat them that you can restore after getting a priest to sanctify the wrecks and restoring them.

You start out delivering produce from your farm to onsens and ryokans in the mountains, to moving to tokyo to deliver to tsukiji market, to owning your own international produce company and racing sports and a few supercars on weekends to blow off steam. The game takes place in 1989, 1995, 2003 and 2012.

Fourth Stage was the worst stage in Initial D, focusing on the Takahashi bros and forgetting the entire akina cast was a complete mistake, even if Keisuke is a damn good character. Not to mention Takumi's wins reaching the peak of bullshit

The art style peaked on 3rd stage, 4th had too many QUALITY moments and everyone looks ugly on 5th/Final

The final race was fine but Shinji is a boring autist, Bunta should have been in his place, hell I'd even take a rematch with Keisuke

MF Ghost looks like dogshit and the Initial D cameos don't do much to the story, I hope it gets an anime soon but the release schedule is slower than Berserk's and the story has nothing to show for it yet.

It really feels like the story was supposed to end at Third Stage. All they had to do was take away Ryosuke's proposal for Project D, and Takumi goes on to live his live as a delivery driver.
