How's your yearly modded oblivion playthrough going user?

I ended up stopping because I got sick of level scaling enemies. I'm going to do my Morrowind playthrough, then my first Skyrim SE playthrough, then mod level scaling out of my next Oblivion playthrough.

>Spend one week modding ES
>It doesn't work anymore

Got bored after half an hour of playing again.

>modding oblivion
maybe some sex shit but that's about it

Morrowind >= Skyrim > Oblivion

I agree. Morrowind and Skyrim are legit in my top 5 but Oblivion is only top 10 material.

literelly oblivion cannot match skyrim because of all of its titty mods etc

UNP or CBBE bros? I can't decide.

I played this game to the death in 2006, before you were born

you don't care, you just came here to post your screenshits and for attention.

are you crazy? Oblivion is much better than Skyrim.
You must be a zoomer or something who discovered the series with Skyrim

I discovered it with Morrowind. Oblivion just wasn't fun. It was extremely repetitive, and even Skyrim had better combat.

>i-impossible... you must be a ZOOMER!

CBBE

see I started with Oblivion but it's nowhere near as good as Morrowind, and has annoying shit like level scaling that brings it down tons.
It's great, as I said, but not as good as Skyrim.
People overrate all the quests but the DB and TG as well.

Mods = soulless

Its alright I guess.
Installed too many mods and it works more often than not, but the mods are all old so when they break I cant really expect help from the author.

What mod is that armor? I THINK I have the same one but I want to make sure.

I dont remember the name but just search up skimpy version of vanilla armors.
I'm pretty sure its one of the top downloaded armor mods on nexus.

>actually installing lewd mods

Absolutely pathetic

Oblivion has the best thief guild, assassin's guild and vampire stuff in any TES game

Meh, I mod it to shit then realise the game still runs like shit and it somehow looks worse with an ENB, which just doesn't look good in TES games before Skyrim due to using different shader systems.
I give up, I'm waiting for an Open Engine port, otherwise I will just play vanilla with bugfixes, it has its own charm and style that works.

>vampire stuff
>make a qt grill to play
>turn her into vampire
>starts looking like trash
no thanks

>Play the hell out of Oblivion as both battlemage and heavy armor/archer classes
>Try to do stealth builds like 3 times, stop at level 10 each time because balancing level ups for agility, strength, and endurance leads to a whole lot of not-stealthing
>Try to restart with new mods, get bored and drop it
As much as I love Oblivion I'm just burned out on it.

oh, you're one of those...

So how does Oblivion hold up without mods, brothers? I'm in a position where I can download it on steam no problem but downloading and modding it is too arduous because of internet connections.

I'd say at least get SOMETHING to fix the level scaling. It's the only issue I really have with the game.

What would you recommend my brother?

Level scaling isn't a problem as long as you level your endurance and strength early enough. Which you're supposed to do anyway.

oscuro's oblivion overhaul is a must

list of mods/guide used please?

I'm mostly interested in how you got distant terrain to be so smooth, no matter what I do I always end up with random creases and shit in distant LOD

Daggerfall >>>>> All

oblivion is perfect as long as you fix up the retarded leveling system

oblivion is fucking boring, none of the skills are interesting or fun to use

currently replaying morrowind.
I set up a pretty bad build and I'm about to hit a very low level cap, there was a lot of stuff that I didn't remember but its too late to restart. Also using morrowind rebirth which makes the game 500% more difficult.

Did you side with the Thieves guild or the Fighters guild?
Did you help the Fighters get rid of the Cammona Tong, or did you help them further their goals?
What is your policy towards slaves?

Personally I sided with the Fighters guild, tried to get rid of Cammona Tong influence, and free every slave I find because most of them are argonian like my character

leveling up athletics is more fun than the entirety of skyrim, especially once you get it to a high level and can jump like a madman through cities

also combat is genuinely better, I know people here say good combat = good animations, but you are wrong, the cast button was essential to playing a battlemage and skyshit removed it

based boomer

the cast button was a gross simplification of magic that morrowind and skyrim both did leagues better than oblivion.

I dont know why, but I love the graphic in Morrowind. Which indie devs would start making games like that and not dumb pixel art.

you better be one of those people that says they like older more obscure to look cool, it's embarrassing to think anyone out there actually thinks daggerfall is good

better than skyshit's magic '''''''''system'''''''' anyday

ps2 era games are graphically my favourite. (most) modern games are too obsessed with textures and post-processing and forget about aesthetics and imagination

I've spent more time installing all the mods for the bevilex mod list + extras than actually playing the game.

Can't put up with the crashing anymore.

to be fair those graphics are heavily modded with texture replacers, distant land, etc.

the only mod I see is distant land turned up like 1 cell higher than normal and the head wrap the character is wearing, other than that it looks vanilla to me

morrowind got OpenMW
Skyrim got Skyrim SE

both of them allow the gaem to use a lot more memory than the original, making it more stable. there is no equivalent for oblivion. if you put too much stuff on it it will implode every time you enter or exit a cell. there's no point in trying to mod it.

tfw Skyblivion will actually release one day

I disagree with you. If casting stance actualy did something besides simple casting of a spell, sure, might've been better. In Oblivion, you can cast a spell without pulling your weapons/shields or having to selecet which hand to cast it out of - you simply cast a spell. In Skyrim, you pull whole gear out, or even take unarmed stance, just to cast a spell. Atleast in Morrowind, it was a stance and made distinction between a mage and fighter/archer. Want to know something? Morrowind is much better with Oblivion style spellcasting.

Same
True

Oblivion had great quests but imagine if it would have the same effort put into art direction and world building as Morrowind.

I'm glad your comfortable enough with your sexuality to admit your a massive faggot.

I downloaded the torrent but now I'm too lazy to start modding.

havent played oblivion since i first finished it back in 2006, one playthrough is enough
