I identified with Joker the most, Yu's interactions are so unrealisitc at least for me I could never immerse myself, it felt like I was a spectator.

With 5 though, his personality is much closer to my own so I felt a lot more connected to the story.

EP PSP was supposed to be out in september of last year, and is finished but needs bug fixes. I'd be willing to bet it'll be another year at the very most

P5 is the best designed as an actual game.
P3 has the best story, characters, what people tend to actually play RPGs for. The game is beautiful in a way that few games can aspire to be.
4 doesn't really win in any category as far as I'm concerned. It's like fast food, tastes good going down but you forget about it immediately.

They are all different solely due to their background. But Yu and Akira due to the story don't have the personality Minato has. Minato has a beautiful arc with a poetic conclusion. His story arc is thematically continuous in that it deals with an issue the protagonists starts as and dwells on it. He starts as fearing death due to his parents death and at the end has to sacrifice himself by accepting death, making the most out of his life (game). What do the other protagonists learn at the end of the game? Persona 3 had by far a more inspired story and was the first game to go out of the chaos/order Manichean duality of the SMT multiverse.

As much as you guys shit on 4, i still regard it as one of the most immersive persona yet. The cast is tight knit, the music's great, and hell the ending really hit me hard. Its not something grand like sacrificing yourself to save the world, just mundane shit like leaving your friends behind after a long struggle.
Golden ending's return to Inaba is nice too. Always love time skip epilogues

I think you can manage 4/4Golden pretty easily if you're fine with not having baton pass. 3 is a bit of a hurdle because it's a tad different mechanically and you can't control your party members, rather, you have to use a tactics menu. You should still give them a chance regardless.

This is a big part of why I love the P3 story so much.
Literally the ONLY reason you communicate with any of those fuckers is because you all have personas in your brains, nobody is anyone's friend really. You have the course of the game to see them go from essentially co-workers to lifelong buddies who have been through some real shit together.
P4 is just constant MC jackoffery and I havent played 5 but expect the same.

As far as "main" Persona designs go, I still prefer Thanatos. I really like how its face is literally a mask. But I still like Izanagi and Arsene too.

Orpheus is interesting to me. Even though it's the protagonist's initial Persona, it's not really a "main" Persona like the others are. You don't see much art of it, and it never shows up on covers, posters or ads. As such, it's one of the few initial Personas that Soejima didn't have to deliberately design to be "cool" or "marketable", so it's pretty unique in that sense.

Problem with protagonists' initial Personas nowadays is that they're tied to the title's identity. It's what you'll be seeing on all the advertisements. It has to be cool enough to make people look at it and go "This looks neat, maybe I'll look it up". In P3, that Persona was Thanatos, but for P4 and P5, it was Izanagi and Arsene.

They emulate fine on PC, or if you have a hacked PS2 or PS3 you can do it that way.

Play it if you can, but I don’t blame anyone for not wanting a Vita/PSTV for one game.

I know Im in the minority but I like the more abstract personas. I really like Yukari and Akihiko's personas for that exact reason. I know if I saw Orpheus in the advertising it'd have peaked my interest, but again, i get it.
