I hated how it looked when the first trailer dropped. Then the playable demo hit and holy shit, my interest never died so quick before.

Its a shame how this looks like shit but you look at the original MVC roster or even something like third strike or VF4 or other smaller roster fighters and that theres still such a fucking contrast

People always joke about certain fighting games being MUGEN, but this one actually felt like it was made in it.

I guess you could argue that Ghost Rider was there because he'd recently appeared in Agents of SHIELD and Captain Marvel was to hopefully try and get people excited for her upcoming movie, but Nova I have no idea why. He hasn't actually popped up in the MCU yet, so dunno why Disney pushed for him.

I really can't even begin to understand what the fuck happened to this game. Yeah, I know, disney meddling, but every single aspect of this game failed to an utterly baffling degree, even including things that had no business being fucked up, especially considering they got the guy who did the fucking original Marvel/Capcom crossover games. The story mode was a disaster, half of the final boss was paid DLC, every face we wanted to see came with a loss of another that was simply not worth it. There was honest to god no reason to not bring back cast members like Wesker and Vergil. What happened?

One of the most confusing failures to me is the sound design. This is one of the only things Capcom does consistently correctly but EVERY ASPECT of the audio is just fucking garbage. The voice casting can't even begin to hold a fucking candle to Ultimate Marvel 3, every SINGLE voice was replaced by someone worse or simply just not read as well. Voices like Nova, Dormammu and Strange in particular were some of the most embarrassing downgrades I've ever seen. Not only that, they all fucking talk too much. There is just literal constant blaring audio from every single character and their lines are so long they generally will not even finish their own lines before moving on. Crowds during tournaments would pop for fucking Super Skrull of all people, just because of how fucking hype he was.

Even the music. EVEN THE FUCKING MUSIC is horrible. Everything sounds so fucking samey to the point I think the guy who made the soundtrack made everything similar rhythmically to make it less jarring when the music would change throughout the fight, but it just fucking falls flat on its face. Especially when the entire Marvel side soundtrack was fucking neutered for that BIG EPIC MCU BIG HERO ORCHESTRA feeling, but even the Capcom side is shit and has no excuse. The only music I can even remotely stand is Nemesis and Ghost Rider's theme, and Ghost Rider's theme honestly feels like they just outsourced an SNK guy to make it.

Not only did this game fail on its own merits, but even everything outside of the game felt like it was being fucking sabotaged. There's more than enough information on Disney fucking with the game, but the tournaments were run like shit, the stone gimmick was retarded, and every interview about why X or Y wasn't in really killed every ounce of goodwill people had for the game. This game fucking killed Combofiend, and he was honestly a pretty charismatic dude.

At the end of the day, the game doesn't even play that badly but every other imaginable fucking aspect of this game is the proverbial anchor around its neck. And because it flopped, we're probably never going to get a chance to unfuck the series. Fuck Disney, they oughta get rid of their mouse mascot and make it a rat instead, because that's all they fucking are.

That fucking remix of the DMC3 staff roll song that they used as Dante's theme never fails to crack me up.

I think my preference is Christopher Daniel Barnes but Josh Keaton doing adult spidey in MVC3 is great. Neil Patrick Harris did a great job in Shattered Dimensions too. Actually, everyone did in that game.
