Anyone noticeh how boring this is compared to old mario karts like 64?
is the physics to blame? the tracks are all wide bring wide as fuck? the 0 punishment thanks to new lakitu? why is mk 64 and the gba and snes ect mario karts actually entertaining to play compared to this one
This is one of the biggest flaws of MK8. Every track in this game has the width of a god damn highway. It is an enormous contributing factor to the tracks all feeling bland and boring. It's really noticeable when you play retro tracks like peach's castle or yoshi's circuit (dlc track) and they are so much wider than they originally were, ruining the tightly designed nature of them and sapping the fun they elicit as an outcome. According to the developers, the tracks were given increased width because it needed to accommodate the space needed for 12 players racing simultaneously. I vehemently disagree with this design decision. During a race, you will never see 12 players racing side by side to warrant the need for all that additional room. Gee, the tracks in MKWii, which introduced 12 player racing, were normal sized and I never noticed a problem with space in between all the fun I was having. How did MKWii manage to do it?! Truly an answer in search of a problem.

64 is also boring as shit. Camera too zoomed out, always feels slow as shit. Not even saying MK8D is good, it's also slow as shit, but at least with 200cc it gets slightly better.

SNES mario kart is trash tho

Tracks too wide No punishment for falling After updates 8 and Deluxe added a RIDICULOUS invulnerability period after getting hit. You're no longer juggled by hits and can tank like 3 in a row
>why is mk 64 and the gba and snes >actually entertaining to play I'd understand DD, DS, Wii, and 7 but the rest have aged like shit.

MK is just stagnant for me. CTR and TSR are both on the horizon, and SRB2Kart (a polished fangame) came out a few months ago, but it's been more-or-less radio silence on MK for the past couple years.

It's a party game, and you're an adult who can't find any friends to play with locally.
It is objectively the most refined and voluminous entry in the franchise. You're just stuck playing it alone because you're a loser.

at least it was fun and felt like it took skill.
this is a fucking snooze fest a baby could play

No sorry OP i dont have nostalgia goggles on. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best game in the series with the best graphics, best gameplay, best soundtracks and most and best racing courses.
After reading the first part i started chuckling because of that stupid comment that guy made: >Every Mario Kart had a HUGE new features >Lists wireless play and 2 characters as huge new features
Man thats some reaching here

I'm hoping CTR Nitro is gonna deliver on the H Y P E.
The only good mario kart was the SNES one. Nothing will ever beat playing online on my xbvnd using the unlimited nationwide glitch to play freely against people across the US and dominate them through strategic red shells and feather jumping.
