Injustice 2 had gear slots tied to each piece of a costume.
So like legs,arms,chest,helmet and something else.
In MK11 you get different costumes and there's less gear slots. Also each piece doesn't have stats tied to it like IJ2 did.
You can get augment gems which are basically just perks like "This specific move does 5% more damage" but I don't ever bother with that BS anyways.
