Have you ever seen such savagery before?
This is pure Japanese Jewry in action

I don't see a single thing wrong with what he did.
Absolutely based
This. People have been begging for companies to use fan translations for ages (as opposed to not releasing the game in English whatsoever). And now one actually does it, and it's suddenly not okay?
Seems fine to me.
Translations aren't illegal... stealing them and reselling them is.
People like that are just asking for the gas station to explode, I know I'd hightail it the fuck away from there.
>fan translations stay up
>fan translators get recognition from the original author
>original author gets money from fan translator's work
>readers have the ability to support the original author if they want by buying the paid fan translation version
Wait so there's literally zero downside to this for anyone? What's the big deal?
>using an illegal operation of your works into something beneficial
based
>Translations aren't illegal...
Distributing them is.
A cigarette can not light gasoline on fire.
>jewry
>implying
The fan translators have open donations to translate his game
He could do whatever he wants with the translation since it's his fucking game
Tanking a running car can, faggot.
What a man
Distributing the patched game is. A translation patch for a game by itself breaks no laws.
More of a gray area and depends on how it is done. If you are giving out the whole game then yes that is totally wrong. However, putting out a separate file or patch that makes the non English thing able to be enjoyed in English, there really isn't fully illegal in that.
This is like when nintendo or whatever would just use ripped roms or stole code from emulators awhile back. It might be legal but it's pretty scumbaggish
It is like taking mods for a game and telling modders to stop and then selling the already made mods to people who want them
A jew for a jew.
there's a difference between creating a mod for a game and translating it, the translation is just putting their work into english, you are not creating anything
Not anymore silly goyim
Man, why are Japs such punchable disgusting rats?
That's completely reasonable though?
But you are creating all of the files associated with the translation. You are also sitting there and rewriting all of the stuff. This is like you saying adding new music or sounds into a game is not a mod because you did not make the audio. Skins as well then, all of the mods that use skins from other things are also not really mods then
Finally, a pump for my skim milk engine.
they own a great majority of their own debt
Translations are derivative works, there's no legal precedent that a patch is fair use.
Well they are an island with fuck all for resources. Seafood is like their best resource
so can i translate japanese light novels and manga and then sell it at a store
Not without the rights you cannot. You could sell software which contains translations though.
I see nothing wrong with this he didn't cancelled it or anything and now we can buy the game legally.
Who cares?
so by that logic all the original author has to do is change a couple words and fonts of the translation to make it his work again. duly noted.
>translations of my shit are already on the internet for free
>I will charge money for the same translations to profit off of this development
ok good luck with that
Doesn't matter
They produce things brah. They are otherwise a top tier country other than having been turned into a zombie economy through Keynsian mad science
exactly
i see nothing wrong with him taking these translations and selling them if they were taking donations to do them
Because the idea is you pay the translator. They only do it for free because no official version is ever coming.
>Have you ever seen such savagery before?
Yes. The owner of Fakku Jacob something has copyrighted some hentai that he stole and now you can't post it on Yea Forums without getting instantly banned.
it's actually impossible to ignite liquid gasoline with a lit cigarette.
Nice strawman kiddo
What exactly is the issue?
"Free" is a strong word. Many translators make a good amount from donations. They aren't doing this on their own time for free. They are making money for doing these projects
>ok good luck with that
To be fair, he does have legal precedence. .
That's actually pretty based. Instead of rolling over and letting this all happen he's doing something about it. More devs need half a spine like this guy has.
Name a more iconic picture
Depends on the project.
Porn comics like OP is entirely monetary. A lot of game translations are free as fuck.
I think OP's mad because of the creator's arrogant sounding attitude in response to his stuff getting fan translated
Correct, it's the fumes that are the issue.
its not my fault that your 200 IQ ideas fucking blow balls
The translator made money without the creator's permission so he lost whatever payment rights he was entitled to when he decided to accept donations for distributing a game without the creator's consent. Creator can do whatever he wants. It's worse than pirating what the translator did.
Yeah, the modern translation industry is crazy. Every fucking manga chapter has an intro page linking to discord and asking for paypal donations, there's also a bunch of groups with patreons even though they're already selling out to the Webnovel chinks.
Most of the debt is domestic and Japan is a net creditor nation regardless.
Is there a precedence for plagiarism or stealing content? Because translations are technically the same story rewritten. Can you legally sit around the take popular things like books and songs and just rephrase the words and just publish that?
Petty, considering he likely had no plans to translate it initially, but objectively not bad.
The translation is still free, people will pirate his version, and he gets to expand his audience and make more shekels.
>E85
What the fuck is that? MILK? SKIM????
>I am economically illiterate: the post
Cool argument kiddo
That's been the case forever, go download old scans of like Karin or Fullmetal Alchemist and you'll see a link to the group's IRC channel.
And a little cherry on the top
archive.is
>im going to steal someone elses work and sell it for profit
So he's basically at the bottom of the imaginary moral ladder?
15% ethanol 85% gasoline
That, on the other hand, is extremely Jewish.
This is where it went wrong. The translators took donations for a game that wasn't theirs. It's one thing to make a translation patch on your own time and money but profiting from it is a completely different beast.
>this one is
Reminds me of those cute loli demon lords.
Oh god my car is gonna die.
And there's no legal precedent that it ISN'T. Fucking idiot. Nobody has anything either way until there's a legal decision to base something off of.
>game
>game
>devs
It's a doujin artist you dipshits.
>people who make porn have zero morals
Big surprise. Also, not vidya faggot
E-begging isn't making a profit.
>The translator made money without the creator's permission so he lost whatever payment rights he was entitled to when he decided to accept donations for distributing a game without the creator's consent.
Not a thing. Stop bending over backwards to suck nip cock. The audacity of this gook is astounding in that he thinks that the translators should actually owe him money for making his works accessible to a wider audience that otherwise never would have bothered with it.
They aren't unfortunately.
Based Nip killing discord. Had they hosted their own IRC server there would have been no problems.
the jap artists have been trying to send dmcas to the panda to takedown books too. takeda hiromitsu is one. and because the panda admins are fags, they'll actually comply. takeda hiromitsu has also been organizing with other artists, so if he manages to do it, there will be others as well.
Can someone give me a quick rundown? I have no idea what im reading
Have you been putting it in your car? It's fine to do so, it's just less efficient if your engine isn't designed to take it.
WHY THE FUCK DID YOU POST IT ON /VIDEOGAMESBOARDFORTALKINGABOUTVIDEOGAMES/
So why is this thread still up?
good on him. But no one will buy your game after there's already been a translation. Instead of getting assmad about it and saying "you're fags I'm going to cry about it wahh wahh", he should be contracting them to make the official translations, and releasing his games with eng versions so people might feel more inclined to buy them, instead of showing their interest in the only way they can, pirating them so they can understand them.
also dlsite is insecure as fuck and has given out the burner cc info I used to buy ONE game on there. Fuck that shit site, never again, they can eat a fucking dick.
>ignore a market because you don't think it exists/don't think it's worth your time to cater to them
>get mad when said market caters to themselves
>Thief gets stolen from
Very based.
Some nip got triggered because people were making translations of his game and getting donations for it.
What game?
Yea Forums hasn't been about games for years.
My engine is tuned to 93.
Okay but who is the nip? The guy in the OP pic?
I don't really have a problem with the shit in the OP. Filing copyright takedowns is not only incredibly Jewish but futile.
>game
its not, its a literal hentai doujin. be sure to report.
Porn comic.
He doesn't own the rights to the translation, the translators do. Basing his own translation on it is plagiarism.
Copyright is fake and Jewish
So was a pirated copy of the game included with the translation? If it was just a patch he'd still be making money since people would need to buy a copy of the game.
Translations are derivative works, there is no if or but.
copyright.gov
Japs have always been the jews of asia. They sell raw fish on rice and claim it's world class cuisine for fuck's sakes.
>jannies
>doing their "job"
it's almost as if they don't get paid lol
It doesn't matter if the debt is domestic dude. It's still debt. It doesn't magically cancel out if it is owed to someone physically closer to you.
Borrowing money for retarded Keynesian programs makes the population worse off, not better. They still have to pay the interest somehow. Where does that come from? Taxes. From the future.
This is the same way that the boomers screwed over all future generation you stupid bastard.
Classic misalocation of resources making everyone poorer.
Goddamn I can't believe that so many people just buy one liners retarded people who don't understand fundamental, easily understood economic concepts.
Sorry i thought it was a visual novel or something, but that makes this even more irrlevant then a doujin is not even that hard to translate.
Who cares
>market
if there's no value being traded it's not a market, but if you create value you legally can't use, don't be surprised if someone else benefits from it. Pirates are the dumbest motherfuckers in the world.
translations are derivative works retard
taking donations /= profiting off of something
donations are optional, and not necessarily related to whatever they distributed (unless donations were a prerequisite like as a patreon reward or something)
distribution without a license is illegal, but claiming that they profited off of it if they allowed donations is untrue and deliberately dishonest.
alright just gonna translate VNs then sell them
Next you're going to say that Luxembourg is doing badly because OH NO DEBT
I bet you're a goldbug
Bethesda's been doing that with skyrim and fallout 4. Even when they first made mod inspired dlcs like Hearthfire and Automatron.
(^ω^)
Yes
No one really cares about the author selling the translation and no one really cares about copyright law because it's Jewish nonsense that no one pays attention to.
I thought we were all here to laugh at the author's impotent fury.
This is actually not true, translation is an act of intellectual labor and excellent translations of creative fiction require a near equal amount of creativity. Translation of a piece of fiction doesn't just require technical knowledge of the source language, it also requires knowledge of the culture it was written in, knowledge of culture it's being translated too, and written skill in the target language. It's not enough to understand the text you're translating, you have to be able to express that understanding in a way that conveys the style the original was written in while maintaining a natural feel so that the reader never even realizes they're reading a translation.
Consider two people working as Japanese to English translators in the video game industy. Both are the same age, the same intelligence, have similar schooling, have similar fluency in English and Japanese and have both lived in America and Japan for 15 years each. Similar in all ways except one speaks in a dry, technical, and exact manner and the other speaks in a fluid, conversational, and charming manner. Which would you prefer to translate your favorite shitty ass fapbait nukige you pathetic neet. Goddamn I can't believe you read all this shit.
It really is just a way to get around the system. Some of these groups are making a ton of money a month for this "free" work.
This, and this is why its insanely dangerous at a petrol station, because although there are fume extractors a lot of them are shit and petroleum vapor has a habit of being MORE dangerous the less condensed it is. Swimming in fumes would be less combustable than that sweetspot mix of a little vapour and a lot of oxygen.
The counterpoint is that a lit cigarette itself isn't actually likely to cause a direct ignition via fumes, but lighting one, or losing the cherry onto a leak then provides a potential naked flame to ignite everything else. That's actually why you often see an initial flameup before the big explosion, its not your initial retardation as much as the chain reaction this often causes.
The bit about phones is pretty bullshit though, I've never heard of a single confirmed case in 20 years in the UK, and only 1 confirmed case of a battery short causing a minor fire, in the station not on the forecourt.
t. My uncle invented H&S and gave me a job inspecting rails.
>Goddamn I can't believe you read all this shit.
You make a lot of good points user don't beat yourself up. I'm sure you're a talented translator.
>Getting paid to full time translate other peoples stuff
>Not profiting off of other peoples works
>Because the idea is you pay the translator.
Having bin in a few translations groups back in the day I can tell you that most translators are scummy autistic cunts. I lost count how many times they would start long ass projects on a whim that we knew we would never finish because its too fucking long and then dropped it after like 2 or 3 months because the other translators didn't feel like working on it anymore or the plot wasn't as interesting as they thought.
Seriously fuck those autistic children, I hope every artist does this
How much you make inspecting rails? What does inspecting rails entail?
>he doesn't know about chaika, the next layer of the secret club
I'd just like to remind you guys that porn is bad and you need to quit your addiction immediately.
Stay strong, anons.
Lets not pretend a lot of thought and time needs to go into translating most Japanese stuff. They are not doing localization to make sure the jokes all make sense. This is super basic shit at almost a literal language level. There are many times where the meaning is different from the original.
if translating it isn't work, why doesn't the nip do it himself and reap all the money? oh right, it takes work and he's too stupid to do it
Strange that nobody's commenting on this guy's impotent, passive-aggressive claim of "ok now send me money for each download" which obviously has no legal basis and nobody will actually send him shit.
The entire thing is impotent passive aggression. Why zero in on one unenforceable thing?
You now have the DDO vocation set. What do you set for yourself and your Pawn?
>nips refuse to translate stuff to engurish, won't make it available to foreign audiences
>audiences do it themselves
>act indignant about it
>Japs have always been the jews of asia
Ever heard of China?
For starters they'll sell you literal carcinogenic chemicals disguised as food.
regardless of whether or not he's in the right: how the fuck does he plan to enforce that?
Because it'd be perfect without that grain of salt.
>But no one will buy your game after there's already been a translation.
Blatantly untrue. There's been plenty of games that got fan translations and then later sold well when they had official localized releases. One example of this is Danganronpa just off the top of my head.
Maybe I'm crazy but if you're going to translate a game, why not contact the original guy first and ask to partner with him? You obviously have a technical understanding of japanese...
Alpha as fuck
I know about chaika user, but you have to look at it the other way: if it's gonna get removed, less people are gonna be willing to buy and upload it. That means less stuff being available in general, and there's already tons of stuff that's not there. It also means even more fragmentation, which would be good for resilience, except all the alternative h-sites just rip off the panda at the end of the day (outside of the ones straight up ripping fakku content, which is good mind you). So, in the end, if these faggots can get their DMCAs to hit the panda, we'll have less porn in general until there's a real/viable panda alternative instead of just websites mirroring stuff previously uploaded there.
What is this moving goal post? We are talking about translators making a bunch of money and the legality of it. I cannot go translate the witcher books and ask people to give me money for my work and expect to not get fucked
the whole game
but not a translation patch
fpbp
Someone was using his work, without his permission and accepted donations for it. While cool for us, that's all kinds of not alright. Imagine you make something, sell it, and some ching chong chinaman just translates it into moon runes, and gives it away for free according to the will of the great chinese communist party. You'd be pissed too.
Its literally bootlegs.
They put dangerous chemicals on fruit to make it look better even when explicitly told not to and then wonder why they don't get contracts with food companies.
The way of the Jew is one of deception.
There is no deception here. The man is open about what he has done and why he has done it.
This may be opportunistic greed, but opportunistic greed is only one side of the shekel.
Japanese Jewery would be Nintendo shutting down fanmade projects to prevent "low quality content from tarnishing our IP" and then releasing Mario Maker.
Not in any effective way that doesn't involve him ironically becoming mao himself
I don't know about this specific case, but patreon is 100% exploiting the definition of "donations" for profit. It's admittedly a clever way around legal issues, but is most definitely just a way to skirt the law. Patreon is much closer to a "subscription service" than it's toted "recurring donation".
Because he doesn't care. He didn't even want his game translated, he is only now faking interest out of spite.
I bet this guy has drawn fan-art of other people's material and accepted donations on that basis.
Nice source on your bullshit statistics. The translation of Dangenronpa was fucking scrolling on a webpage, you could not actually play the game
the law is stupid. dmcas are stupid. there's a reason the thread started by calling it what it is: jewry
I wouldn't do official business with the chinese anyway, so they could have it.
Do they have proof that they tried to contact him first?
He has every right to what he's doing, other people are profiting off of his own work with him not getting a good cut. I do translations for some furry artists from Taiwan and provide them english translations for free because I love the content and want them to expand to a western market; and I have a friend who has worked with Tagame, and a lot of other big name Japanese artists (lots of small ones too), and gets paid by them to provide them translations because he's trying to take translation as a serious profession.
Most artists don't want to open up to the west because there's such a huge piracy issue and translators never speak to the artists except for the huge name artists and usually when that happens its a company doing it. More translators really should just start talking to artists and offering to translate their work for them for compensation.
Why do only the most uninspired people care about copyright?
>Just ignore laws you don't like
Kek
Strike chinese and insert literally anything non-english in there then.
Luxembourg has a debt to GDP ratio of 23% you stupid bastard. That is extremely small. Not only do you not understand economics but you are lying.
I don't own any gold, but it's obviously good to have if you think a crash is coming and as a hedge against inflation. Everyone knows that.
But, let's be honest, our current currency system is obviously fucked. Pretty much every such system has broken down eventually due to the obvious flaws. Even gold based currencies were devalued by adding cheaping metals.
It's obviously going to end at some point, everything does. But know one really knows when.
Our current currency experimentation is unprecedented so there is no real historical facts to look to what exactly might happen. QE isn't the traditional route of inflation, but probably will end up the same way.
Original author's going take the English translations, edit them a bit, and sell them for money himself. If the translators sue the author for copyright infringement, the author will sue them right back for making & distributing translations of his stuff without permission in the first place.
Correct. We have a duty to disobey unjust laws. All of the ones relating to "intellectual property" are unjust. States already disregard them, next comes citizens.
Cause popular shit makes enough money to not care. When you only have like 300 people buy your shit then you worry about people giving it away for free
>it's okay when japan does it
try and arrest me bootlicker :o)
the distribution without license is illegal by its own, the donations dont play into it. I actually agree with the author about selling the fantranslations himself, the translators didnt respect the rights of the author, so why the fuck should the author respect the rights of these legal-greyzone-thieves
why are they so fucking full of themselves
>jewry
He has every right to do whatever he fucking wants with derivatives based off his copyright work that were not explicitly allowed by him to persist. He could have pressed a lawsuit instead, but chose to be cheeky.
You can't translate Japanese into English literally, it's not like German or French where the syntax is like 90% equivalent, even the most basic elements of sentence structure are completely different, let alone the semantics.
>The translation of Dangenronpa was fucking scrolling on a webpage, you could not actually play the game
Then how come I played a fan-translated english version of it years before it was officially released? You don't know what you're talking about idiot.
So does every country.
>mfw people in this thread support monopolies granted by the government
How low IQ could you possibly be. At least read a book you stupid nigger.
which is why i made an exception for patreon, its scummy as fuck
Then why are there so many machine translations out there? Many group operate on that shit and people rock it
Is translation really thievery?
I can tell you're not a productive member of society.
Nips are incapable of critical thinking or reevaluation of a situation after their initial gut reaction. Since he got angry at the tl team he will forever stay mad, regardless of whether it makes sense or not.
You didn't play shit you fucking retard. Jesus chris you are such a fucking POS
I don't need to read a book to know that copyright is retarded shit that makes absolutely no sense post-internet
>talks about economics as if he knows something
>can't tell the difference between external and public debt so he calls me a liar
AHAHAHAHA
Oh god, this isn't even economics 101. You're truly the embodiment of dunning kruger. I recommend picking up economics for dummies before moving onto economics 101. Then you can come back.
No unless it comes with a pirated copy of the game. If it's manga then yes, unless it's a list of what text should go in a speech bubble.
Likely the railway.
I will rewrite this book in slightly different words and sell it
you're just a biased american. this shit's not a crime in russia, india, china etc. the us does it because they think they're the world police, except it's a bs law that only hurts us citizens in the end, over giving corporations more profit than they deserve and creating an environment that doesn't reward actual work/innovation
>Most artists don't want to open up to the west because there's such a huge piracy issue
There wouldn't be such a huge piracy issue if I didn't need to go through so much just to fucking buy from digiket. Expecting anyone to go through that effort when they can easily pirate it is retarded. I buy shit from booth and alicebooks where it's way easier.
Your opinion is fucking worthless and I'm not going to waste any more of my time replying to you when you have so little information on the subject.
the plugin? what does that do?
>Trying to do legal shit for a work that has not been published in that country
He won't be able to get shit from the translators. He can sell the translation though later
Fighter for myself and Hunter for my pawn just like my first time.
Dude you literally do not know how it worked. That shit was a bad translation and you still needed the full game so fuck off you god damn retard
Relevant.
youtube.com
It's available for free.
Also, the author is a patent lawyer.
Nah its better here. At least when you make something you can feel a bit safer that you won't get raped. Most of the people on here will never understand what it is like to actually create a work
>pour a shit ton of work in a product
>gaijins thinks its fair for people to translate them and distribute them for free because there are no market here in the west
Shame we don't have the same kind of scene here in the west. We have the "who pays for porn/games?" mentality so I get their frustration. Someone jack your shit, adds their translation, get commissions, and distribute among the populace.
Is your name Migita Soutetsu by any chance?
lmao rekt
