you can already play classic persona 5 on pc using an emulator

Persona 5 The Royal with more graphics is now on PC.

Persona 5 classic is already on the PC though, not only that but it's also the cheapest version (0$).

youtube.com/watch?v=09WcSm_trzw

What did they mean by this?

PC has always been Nintendo's complementary platform.
If Persona 5 Classic comes to PC, it's fine. We gout our port, just an indirect one.

Don't care unless it's the updated with romanceable Sae.

>Ported by SEGA Europe
>not even released on the japanese steam site
Atlus doesn't care about pc

That is correct, which is why A. You'll never hear about a pc port at atlus anything and B. Any porting will be done on SEGA's end. No one should care what Atlus gives a shit about because theyve proven time and time again that their priorities are whack

Both Cloud and Joker were a mistake for Smash. You can almost justify Cloud seeing as the original series he's from at least started with Nintendo, but they're just screwing themselves, offering free advertising for a rival company with Joker.

To be fair Atlus' position is understandable.
PC is the only platform that allows people to play your games for free without risk or consequence. If I were a developer I would work exclusively with consoles.

hope the classic version goes playable, so my shitty toaster could run it

Fair, but I think even from a console perspective Atlus makes puzzling decisions regularly

This is what Nintendo gets for not hiring that man.

never ever PCnigger

>you can't pirate on consoles

Not at all.
Nintendo is the home of Shin Megami Tensei
Sony is the home of Persona
That's it. With their stint on the Playstation 2 era Atlus learned that releasing non-Persona games on non-Nintendo consoles is a waste of money and resources.

NOOOO THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AGAIN

Attached: 78E7B418-282C-4F78-88A0-39A39D863D95.jpg (735x1024, 50K)

PC users already know about pirating games and how easy it is
console user are people who don't give a shit and would just pay money instead of going through the hassle of hacking their console.

1. Cracking a console now takes years (both the PS3 and PS4 only got cracked towards the end of their lifecycle)
2. Patches and making your games unplayable if the console doesn't have a particular patch versions obfuscates piracy even more.
3. Cracking a console "red flags" it, making it unable to use online services. So, the pirate has to sacrifice something to get free games.
4. Meanwhile PC can pirate everything without sacrificing anything. Someone can have 50 pirates games installed on his machine and play some multiplayer game on Steam at the same time.

PC stands for "Piracy Cave". Atlus is right to despise the platform.

Japs don't play games on PC anyway. Just region lock the game and sell it in the west as you should, SEGA. Fuck the Japs and their obsession with Sony.

I don't think Japs will be obsessed with Snoy after their games get censored. If anything they'll move to Switch or even phones.

See, but I dont think that their splintering of franchises between consoles is smart at all. I think SMT's popularity has been crippled by Atlus's sporadic choices in platform, and Persona would do well on a Nintendo platform or PC. Honestly what it is, is that Atlus focuses almost exclusively on the Japanese market while releases elsewhere are an afterthought handled externally. But, regardless of how you feel about the Switch its marketshare is growing exponentially fast in Japan, so even Japanese audiences are getting a bit confused by what they're doing with Persona in particular. As a fan of their games I'd like more people to play them (I wouldnt give a shit if SMT5 came to PS4, people crying about exclusives are retarded) and from a business perspective there are potential sales lost

The vast majority of console only users are brainlets, so as far as they are concerned that might as well be true.

>their splintering of franchises between consoles is smart at al
It is. No one outside Nintendo consoles cares about Shin Megami Tensei, and no one outside Sony consoles cares about Persona. So, porting both series to different platforms would be a waste of time.
You guys claim that third party always sell better on Switch, but during the past two years it has been proven that they sell worse (except for a few indie games that fulfill a niche, like YIIK of all titles).

You want to believe that SMT would be popular if it were available on other platforms. Shin Megami Tensei 3 and Shin Megami Tensei NINE proved you wrong. Atlus being in the red thanks to Nocturne, both Raidous and the DDS duology selling way, way below expectations taught them that lesson.
Did you forget that SMT 1 and 2 have been ported to, well, almost everything and the series keeps being a niche JRPG?

I played it on RPCS3 already, it sucks.

>you guys claim third parties always sell better on switch
I know I dont. But I do know that if Octopath Traveller can break 1.5mil copies as a switch exclusive game an established franchise that just got repped in the biggest game on their platform, it could do very well. The problem with saying only one audience cares about whichever franchise is that neither platform has even been given the chance to buy them. And if you think the playstation audience in the PS2 era and PS4 era is the same I don't know what to tell you. That being said there could be a case made for SMT not being a worthwhile endevour for Atlus to port. But Persona? Nah, thats their biggest franchise by far and I think if, for example, Royal DID come to the switch (it wont) it would sell well on there. Especially if SEGA steps in and does the porting themself, since at this point I just think Atlus has no people who work on multiple platforms at all, I think it'd be easy money if they released P5 on the switch. As for SMT 1 & 2, I think you need sufficient marketing to sell games that old

That's what baffles me the most about Nintendo home console's owners asking for Persona 5.
The series' fans think it was mediocre; non-Persona fans think it sucks. Why would you want a shitty game on your console? Especially when you already have better JRPGs like the Xeno series or #FE?

>porting the classic version when Full Body is right around the corner
what a rip-off lmao

>It's more likely OP is a faggot than a non degenerate

Kill yourself

>neither platform has even been given the chance to buy them.
SMT1 and 2 were ported to the Playstation 1. Atlus' sixth gen output was exclusively on Playstation 2.
Non-Nintendo fans had the chance to experience the franchise, and decided to spit on its face.

>And if you think the playstation audience in the PS2 era and PS4 era is the same I don't know what to tell you
It still is, Sony's modern retardation aside.

>I think it'd be easy money if they released P5 on the switch
Not at all; I don't see the game selling enough to cover the port budget.

You're crazy, porting P5 to switch wouldn't cost much considering its a PS3 game, and if it even sold to 5% of the 14 million people who recognize Joker from smash, thats gangbusters for a port. Selling a million in the west was a success for Atlus, 2.7mil overall so the numbers aren't as impossibly high as most AAA release. Also, speaking on PS2-PS4 if anything the audience on PS4 is way more open to buying niche japanese games, hence Persona 5 selling a million in the west.

>Censored Body
Yikes

Again, you're vastly overstimating how well Persona 5 would sell on the Switch.
For example, Valkyria Chronicles 4, already one of the biggest commercial failures of 2018, sold the worst on the Switch.

But user, Switchfags told me that third party games sold the most on the system?
Were they wrong?

I've never played Catherine before and I've been meaning to for a long, long time. Should I just get the classic version or wait to see if the new version comes to Steam? Or just get the console version?

Cloud was perfectly fine. He's from a massive franchise and of course, his game itself is said to be its holy Grail. Persona is relatively niche, and P5 itself, no matter how much I enjoyed it, isn't exactly a classic. It's just recent. Should have been an SMT character or at least have Joker wield Jack Frost as well as numerous other classic demons

Can't find the screnshot I took of that thread but some user claimed that a Dark Souls port on a Nintendo console would outsell every other version of the game put together.
Then Dark Souls Remastered on Switch came and that didn't happen.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 wasnt marketed for shit, thats just a poor example. You've yet to explain how Octopath Traveller can sell like crazy. I think you instead underestimate how many more people are potentially turned onto Persona by its inclusion in smash. In many ways, thats the biggest piece of marketing an Atlus game has ever had

Imagine caring so much about a PS3 game remaster that isn't even mainline SMT, this is fucking pathetic.

fifth post best post, this is what Sonyfags don't understand since they themselves are too poor/underage to own anything other than the newest PlayStation. Nintendofags will be fine, the only people who complained ans wanted a Switch port are those who like JRPGs on the go. I'm definitely not one of those people, which is why I got a PSTV as opposed to a Vita for P4 Golden for example, but I understand why they want it portable

Emulators already let you play Persona 5.

Attached: 1544554279317.png (1230x1080, 818K)

Being on Smash doesn't mean anything.
Bayonetta 2 didn't sell much better than Bayonetta 1

The seething over MHW disproves this actually

Bayonetta 2 released as DLC for smash a year after release on a single platform that was doing terribly. Smash for Wii U sold less than 4 million copies, the vast majority of that games shipments were on 3DS. As soon as Bayonetta was rereleased on the switch it more than doubled in sales, and thats as a port ironically

But now I want the new version with quality of life improvements, new songs and shit.

No one seethed over it though. And besides, Switch ended up getting the superior game in the end, once it got localized

Sadly they are still. They still continue buying games exclusively on PS4 even when there's a Steam version uncensored on same day. That's how much they love Sony's big cock.
Then they'll bitch when western publishers region lock them. Which is funny because they wouldn't buy those games anyway.

Persona 5 was pretty gay anyway. Can't even romance the loli twins. Dropped it, just like Persona 4 as a result.

Correction, I just looked it up and Smash Wii U sold over 5 million. But if you think that the power to introduce new audience to things is the same on a game that sold 5 million lifetime vs 14 million in four months, kek

No thanks. I prefer not to play an emulated game that runs a fast forward through everything and calls it 60fps.

it took 9 years for Catherine to show up on PC, and also it only happened because of """Competitive Catherine""" same reason why Atlus even bothered remaking the game in the first place.

why ?

Most PCs ought to be able to run Persona 5 so no problem there.

You can just pirate Persona 5 on PS3, a lot of people did that
You can also pirate on Switch

Persona 1 is on PC

To be fair I and II are a bit clunky even if they have a lot of unique ideas for the time. Certainly important games but not something you try to sell the whole series with. You could make the argument a lot better with IV.

>The series fans think it was mediocre

I really don't know about that one all the fans I know and see talking about p5 were foaming at the mouth. Don't get me wrong P5 is a shallow JRPG that skates by because it's stylish but FE and Xenoblade aren't good. That being said switch owners should be more excited for DQ XI

>caring about the same "run down the hall and choose attack in random encounter window" weebshit ive been playing for 20 years

Sorry, Im not a child anymore, I cant continue to consume shit happily, if I do play games I play quality games, not this kind of lazily hacked together barely interactive cheap 3d visual """novel""".

>Working with Consoles
>Its PIRACY PLATFORM
You know if that was true nothing would be released on Steam or PC right? it would all be on consoles. The thing is there is enough sales to turn a profit regardless. Piracy is only a small amount of users for the most part unless Developers get uppity and act like assholes then piracy takes effect. Besides i would take a risk on the Piracy platform than a censorship platform anyday.

ok retard

ok weebcel

>Just gotta buy a PC that costs at least $1500
T-thanks

You can easily get on for 600$ or more.

see you at E3 sonygers

This is what's going to happen most likely, either this year or the next, just a matter of time.

It's okay bros, just wait a little bit and we'll show them.

Yeah, might not be this year since it already seems stacked with potential non-Atlus announcements (FotNS, Shin Sakura Taisen, Y3-5 remasters) but I'm absolutely positive we'll get something by the end of 2020.

this
SMT III-2 when?

Attached: 1538095130715.jpg (4000x4000, 1.33M)

Honestly, I'd rather if they started with porting older titles with unlocked framerate and proper widescreen (PS2 SMT games, P4G, 3DS SMT games, Vanillaware games) and wait for P5R to come out and port that instead of Classic.

>console user are people who don't give a shit and would just pay money instead of going through the hassle of hacking their console.
That's why flash cards were rampant as fuck on the DS, right?
Even the most entry level users had one.

Imagine being this big of an SMT fag because people loved the side bitch series over your soon dead one. Get over it, it's the reason why Atlus hasn't gone under yet

PUBG was pretty damn popular with japs

>soon dead one
>smt v is coming soon
seething purse owner

Attached: 1541852374455.jpg (558x767, 109K)

I care about both

Yeah you'll get your new game, but you're delusional to think that it's more relevant than Persona. As the roots fore being its mainline gamesure, but Persona will always be more relevant as a game simply because its gameplay attracts more players. It will be the one getting remasters. SMT is getting the short end of the stick and you're delusional if you think otherwise

Attached: 1538642839040.jpg (1080x985, 84K)

Already got MHGU and once RF4/5 are released I'll have everything I bought the switch for - anything else are bonuses. I feel bad for all the people who aren't getting the games they want but maybe you shouldn't buy a console until it's in its mid-life next time if you're not sure the games they make are mostly within your liking

Attached: 1551459597179.jpg (1516x712, 253K)

>It will be the one getting remasters
Considering the amount rereleases and enhanced ports both persona and general megaten got, it's not necessarily about popularity, just the quickest and cheapest buck with that point

>changing the goal post
>its gameplay
lmao
broh you just skip dialogs for hours

>No one seethed over it though.
Im guessing you first started coming here months after the release of world or you rarely come to Yea Forums

MHW is shit though and unless the devs are doing crunch time with Iceborne I severely doubt MHW is going to have the longevity its predecessors have. Even fucking MH3U has a room up during deadpop up to 60 people playing during peak on the Wii U and that shit came out in what, late 2012? MHGU is objectively the better game, such a damn shame we didn't get that on PC - had to buy a god damn switch for it and for Runefactory that's coming Soon™

At this point I'd say get the Classic since there is absolutely no evidence pointing to Full Body coming to PC

That's some contrarian shilling right there
