I just played and completed the game for the first time in my life after putting off for years, and having never played a Zelda game. Great game and holds up beautifully. About to start Majora's Mask. How does it compare? Am I in for as fun a time? No spoilers plz kthx

Leave Yea Forums and just play it

No spoilers, but MM will leave you speechless. MM takes place in Termina, which is like a twisted version of Hyrule. The game uses the uncanny valley phenomenon a lot, so you'll be pretty on edge throughout. The world and character also have a lot more depth than Hyrule; you're supposed to get attached to many of the characters, a lot of whom are parallel universe versions of characters in OoT. If you loved OoT, you'll love MM too.

MM is a really great game. It's much darker and less hand holding than OoT and far more focused on all of the sidequests. Game is about depression and Skull Kids (lore from oot) are lost depressed kids. Skull kid = lost depressed link

Shit spoiled it for ya sorry

Don't worry OP, he didn't spoil it for you. NO, Skull Kid isn't "lost depressed Link", he represents something else entirely. And to say the game is about depression simplifies it greatly. Depression is a part of it, but there's many other themes.

>MM will leave you speechless

Lol fuck off dude.

Real answer op is MM feels like an expansion pack to oot. It has some very questionable design choices that conflict with the core of the game itself but its mostly enjoyable. But dont expect another OoT

Majora's is even better, but you should leave here and play it undisturbed.

He doesnt represent anything you faggots. What is with you assholes trying to make MM out as some 2deep4u experience? Its a zelda game with alot of sidequests that leaves out great dungeons to focus on mostly one note side characters and their disappointingly worthless side quests

>MM is even better
thats really an opinion it matters when you first play MM and your mindset going into it

MM is in contention with OOT in regards to being the better N64 era Zelda.

IMO Majora's Mask is better. It has a lot of soul in it, and hearkens back to the days when Nintendo wasn't afraid to be downright scary or depressing at times in their story telling. It's a considerably more adult game than OOT in the way it approaches the topics of death and acceptance.

>only looked at the surface of the game

All art has symbolism, whether intentional or not. MM definitely has symbolism, and if you deny it you're retarded.

What a take man, so it's either 2deep4u with people looking for things where there is nothing or just nothing at all but random objectives with no meaning? You sound just as bad as anyone making up some fan theory. And yeah there definitely is some deeper meaning in the game to explore.

MM is weird as fuck

>The director and script writers for the game are wrong. THIS is what it really means!

Majora's Mask is a ok at best zelda game by the way.

Yeah. Expect something even better

Ever heard of death of the author?

Skull Kid is more like an inverse of Link rather than lost/depressed

Majora is great, but the time mechanic takes some getting used to. Here's a tip: play the Song of Time backwards to make time pass half as quickly or play every note twice to skip forward to set times. Also, there's some cryptic/annoying shit in this game, so definitely use a guide if you're really lost or have no idea where to go.
inb4 "hurr you fucking casual!" it's a goddamn game, it's supposed to be fun, and there's nothing fun, challenging, or interesting about scratching your head wondering which hidden required NPC you missed or walking back and forth a billion times because you don't have enough bottles to carry everything at once.

Either way he shouldn't go into it with a bunch of Yea Forums shitposts swimming around in his head. He'll have plenty of time to do that when he's finished the game.

I appreciate your input everyone. I've avoided spoilery sounding posts. I will be beginning it shortly.

How did you decide which posts "sounded spoilery"? Wouldn't that require reading at least some of them?
