The DLC was pure garbage, but the main game was very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to a sequel. I hope they fix the web swinging. As satisfying as it was, the speed and acceleration were definitely an issue. Using cheap camera tricks to make it feel like you were going faster than you actually were was kinda shitty.

Try playing the full game on the highest difficulty.

Is this game fun? I just beat Sekiro and it was one of the most awful experiences I've ever had in the recent decade. I need something to cheer me up. I expect it to be somewhat repetitive like all open world games nowadays, but I plan to stick to the main story line mostly.

I played the game for 15 minutes like I said and all that happened was me pressing 1 button and watching spiderman flip across to the other side of the room and perform a slowmotion bicycle kick on some guy.

Pressing one button to do all this cutscene teir shit pisses me off, it makes games feel unfun because I'm suddnely made away I'm not actualy in control of anything.

None of the costumes adding any related powers so they were just cosmetic items. And considering the DLC in total was $25, the story was really lacking to feel like it was worth it. It basically added like 6-7 main story missions each and a bunch of filler arena fights and shit. Definitely not worth for full price. Loved the Raimi suit though

Yeah, but Raimi, Future Foundation, and Bag Man were free updates. They can’t really be lumped in with DLC. Also, there’s plenty of suit powers in the game already to make up for the lack of DLC suit powers.

It was a really good game but i wouldn't say it was GOTY, the combat got pretty repetitive to the point where i was using the ultimate and his gadgets to try and limit the amount of time i spent fighting. Also the street crimes and fortresses got real repetitive real fast although it wouldn't be the biggest issue if you weren't going for 100%.

I wouldn't say the gameplay is at all similar to Arkham Series, however it does for Spider-Man what Arkham Series did for Batman, i.e. create a game that's a better story and adaptation for the comic book character than most movies and actually let you step into the world of the comic book character and feel as closely as possible what it is to be that hero during the average ordeal of a comic book story, and all the fun/action/gameplay that comes along with it.

Off-topic, but Arkham Asylum 1 always reminded me of the first Metal Gear Solid, nobody seems to agree with me though

I had that feeling too. I think it's because its one of the only modern AAA games that uses a small-open interconnected base with backtracking and minor exploration. I really liked that about Asylum and tried getting into City about 3 times now and can't get into it.

The gameplay is trash. The game plays itself, swinging should be fun but instead it feels automated. Barely a step beyond watching a fast travel cutscene in your average open world game. I hope with the next game they go for some actual dynamism instead of the same canned animations and poor sense of control.

If they REALLY wanted you to feel like spiderman they woulda capped the framerate at 24 instead of 30fps. Its like they didnt even care....
