no

Xenoblade Chronicles was developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo, so no. They are wrong right off the bat.

I don't understand this idea that companies are basically singular people making every game instead of hundreds of different people or even more coming and going working on different projects.

Yes, They are the only company in gaming history capable of selling 600 Million consoles without any 3rd Party support while appealing to all demographics

Lemme guess..
Nintendo, Monolith, Team Meat, Naughty Dog, Fromsoft, Square Enix, and a handful of other names most anyone has heard of.

I wouldn't say there's really a best developer of all time. Developers always come into and fall out of favor and success and fame always gets the better of a company.

See Bioware. Big dogs with early successes, later they're shoveling out fucking garbage fire.

No real dev studio can really keep that dynamic going in the long term. Talent will shuffle in and out of a company as people leave and get hired, meaning the dev team that made one game isn't as cohesive as the one that made another game.

All that being said, Nintendo can roughly be stated to be the most "stable" in the past few decades, but that isn't to say they have made the best games ever or the worst games ever.

They've literally made garbage like Skyward Sword, shoveled out tons of New Super Mario Bros Trash, consistently ignored their most iconic franchises like F-Zero or Starfox or Earthbound for over a decade, and when they did make one (Ex: StarFox Zero), they were so out of touch with what makes a game good that the game was just colossally trash. They've also led good franchises that they do routinely make games go down the shitter in terms of overall quality, like Paper Mario or Fire Emblem.

So, no. There really is no "best developer", only teams that at one singular point in time were so on-point that they made a bomb-ass game. It's almost stupid to try to evaluate a developer as a whole because the teams and peoples involved change so drastically over time.

What do you fucking think? Of course they are

Obviously yes. Any post after mine will be irrelevant and this thread should be archived

Name one single developer who has as many masterpieces and revolutionary games as Nintendo.
That's right, there is none, so yes, they might have fallen a little but no one can match their legacy

Maybe but why the fuck did they use a Monolith Soft game as an example
In fact Monolith had a hand in BotW too.

fuck yes

It's hard to deny that Nintendo and its various studios are responsible for developing a good chunk of some of the best games ever made

but also this

>without any 3rd Party support
That's bullshit

No other compaby even comes close to matching Nintendo's portfolio of all time great games and anyone who claims otherwise is a salty console warring bitch. That being said, Nintendo is also one of the most mismanaged companies on the planet, and have squandered their potential, any other company with their stable of IPs should have the entire fucking industry eating out of the palms of their hands but due to massive branding and hardware fuckups finds themselves only achieving a fraction of what they could be capable of with competent leadership.

SS is a long way from garbage

no. nintendo is not a developer. nintendo is a company. only humans develop things. if your list of top devs isn't a list of people you fucked up

None of the New Super Mario Bros games are bad though. They're just generic.

>Their most iconic franchises
>Like F-Zero
>Or Starfox
Is dis nigga for real?

Monolith soft is owned by?

On the grounds that they don't give a shit about politics, muh gwafix and having the latest cod on their consoles, yeah they are
