:3 making this list i’ve realized that modern Kirby villians are difficult as fuck to place on a cute/cool/edgy/scary spectrum. Now you have to deal with the pre-battle form, first form, second form, the third form, the fourth form, the fucking soul form. For example: Star Dream is genuinely awesome during their first phases, but by the end with the Access Arc, in a split second they become one of if not the cutest main villain we’ve had so far. Then there’s situations like Magolor and Sectonia, whose pre-antagonist designs are intentionally cute.

Robobot is good but Haltmann & Susie are not the reason why it's good and if anything, they're the low point of the game. Both of their battle is painfully boring, and the story's alright but it tries a little too hard and is pretty lazy when considering Kirby has handled silent storytelling wonderfully. Characters in Kirby never needed to talk.

I'd love to see a fully fledged Meta Knight game one day. Meta Knight is a great character: He's pretty versatile despite being stuck to one ability, he's fast unlike Kirby, and his goals are refreshing enough to justify a wholesome adventure of a Knight going through quests to get stronger. The level design could be more focused around his more limited abilities and offer a clearer difficulty curve.

The story is as simple as it needs to be unless you want to read the pause description and try to piece things together which is entirely on the player's decision to do so. The story does have dialogue, but it's not as intrusive as it really begins in the third world, and is introduced before the boss battle starts plus the fact that you can skip them entirely. Also the battle against them are as engaging as the other boss fights in the game. But this is entirely subjective to the player's personal enjoyment of the game and I believe that Robobot really shines with the Robobot not being as intrusive to the gameplay as the previous super power abilities were.

It's like you want this thread to be bad. Also to answer your question, Squeak Squad was the worst mainline game for me. The mechanics in that game was so underutilized and it had the potential to be so much more.

I don't remember much of Squeak Squad besides some things like Animal Kirby, which were used in like two spots. Ghost, as well, which apparently was so useless that you couldn't even open doors with it. A damn shame.
Star Allies at launch was pretty mediocre but the constant drip-feeding of content made it worthwhile, I guess. Buying it now if you've never played it is definitely worth it, but if you owned it day 1 then it kinda leaves a bittersweet feelin in your mouth.

Squeak Squad had the inventory space that can carry alot of items which could make for some really interesting puzzles which required the use of many abilities and environmental hazards which was reintroduced in Star Allies in a way.
