>The game passed one million copies sold this week across PC and consoles, and more than a quarter of those sales were on the Epic Games Store. Saber Interactive chief executive Matthew Karch told VentureBeat that the game has sold particularly well on the store outside of the US.
>“Overall the US and EU have been equally strong in sales. We have had 70,000 people playing at once across all platforms, with very similar distribution among PC, PS4 and Xbox," he said. "What surprises us is the fact that sales outside of the US on the Epic Store have been so strong, with the US being only one quarter of sales.”
>In a separate press release, Karch added: “On the PC specifically, we are performing way above expectations thanks to the support we have received from the Epic Games Store." He did not expand on how exactly the Epic Store had helped the game exceed expectations.
>It's another indication that launching on the Epic Games Store rather than Steam is not harming developers' sales figures: last month Epic said that Metro Exodus, another exclusive, sold 2.5 times better on the store than Metro: Last Light did on Steam.
>He did not expand on how exactly the Epic Store had helped the game exceed expectations.

There's a smear campaign against it going on from a certain fanbase of a digital storefront run by a fatass
Parker Watson
If there was a smear campaign then it would be more prevalent brainlet, how can you smear something if no one knows what it is
Jonathan Wright
is it set in Africa?
Luis Cook
>70k on all platforms >Even distribution (obviously not true, chances are the PS4 version sold twice as much as the other 2) >~18k peak players on PC >On par with current peaks for Stardew Valley, a 4 year old indie game Oof That's kinda sad.
most gaming sites are spamming how good epic is everytime they got chance
prepare for massive shilling when E3 announce new Epic exclusives

Reminder that the developers dont care about the revenue share. They only care about the cash infusion. Any thing the developers say about revenue split being too low is a lie, otherwise discord store would be popular as fuck.
Even for an AA game that's pretty pathetic considering Vermintide 2 managed to sell 500k units in 4 days and RoR 2 managed to sell 650k units in a week. Hell, even Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet had peak players of over 21k on Steam and that was a mid-low budget Jap game that didn't even launch with functional online. It's actually kind of telling that THIS middle-of-the-road crap is what Sweeney thought was worth bragging about. I can only imagine how poorly the other games have sold.
>Across all platforms This says nothing about PC numbers.
Juan Morales
>and more than a quarter of those sales were on the Epic Games Store
so pc accounted for the least sales. got it.
Adam Howard
Man, it's actually rare for a somewhat big game to sell worse on PC than even Xbone nowadays, so that's REALLY telling.
Matthew Clark
>muh zombie shit why are amerifats so obsessed with zombies? no one else gives a shit
Evan Brown
How in the fuck does exclusivity help game sales? Are these shills even trying?
Jose Hall
Says right after that the 70k peak includes PC, Xbox and PS4 and was distributed fairly evenly across the 3
John Roberts
I'm sure there's no possible way that part of their agreement with Epic included talking about how great their sales were despite 250k being pretty shit
Daniel Powell
>outside the US
Andrew Sullivan
Why don't they give an exact number for PC players instead of saying "they're fairly even?"
Daniel Campbell
Because they're afraid of the sub-20k peak playercounts.
Christopher Jackson
because the game sold fairly mediocre and probably dropped off really hard 2 days later
Luke Russell
Yea, unsurprisingly, the third worlders/Euros are all talk. Believe it or not, most of the people who don't like the EGS are Americans.
Jaxon Taylor
>above expectations so it sold more than 2 copies?
Blake Murphy
>epic pays dev big bucks for exclusivity and to lie about sales >epic pays streamers to only play WWZ for 2 days straight if you think that it's legit getting good sales you're a retard
Connor Ward
They're including the guaranteed sales bribe as sales numbers on top of actual sales, aren't they?!
Easton Price
>only mutts give a fuck about muh china bogeyman HAHAHAHAHAHA FUCKING CALLED IT remember when they were screeching about Chinkphones?
Camden Young
That's right cuck, Epic pays for my copy AND Euros pay extra to keep covering my copy. I really appreciate it, unfortunately after a quick pirate it turns out that the game is shit.
Jackson Lewis
>all these Pcbros that think they know better than the publisher and the developer what constitutes as good sales for the game in question Maximum cope.
Jaxson Rivera
Why would it sell better as an epic store exclusive than a non-exclusive
Robert Johnson
Remember that the 2.5x figure for Exodus leaves out important context: Last Light's original sales on Steam (not Redux) were shit, and they were shit over six years ago when there simply weren't as many people buying video games as there are now. For a game which now only costs slightly more than Vermintide 2 did on release, exists in the same rough genre of co-op horde killing from A-to-B and released a year later when there should be even more people interested in the genre now than there were in 2018, those are bad sales figures and an even peak with VT2 when it should be higher. Especially for something with so much mass market appeal.
Note that the shill (Karch) is an executive, not an actual game developer.
Dylan Baker
>and an even peak with VT2 You misunderstand user, that 70k peak players for WWZ is for ALL platforms, so PC, PS4, and Xbone. Vermintide 2 on Steam alone peaked at 73k, so it had a higher peak and more sales on PC alone than WWZ had on all platforms combined.
