I was thinking of buying this game next time its on sale for PC. So to those that have put a good amount of time into othe game, what do you think of it?
Tekken 7

its the best tekken and the best current fighting game
bretty good tekken game
There are like 2000 people playing it so no it's dead
thats great for a fighting game. what are you on about?
One of the best if not the best current gen fighting games
Definitely a must-buy if you're into fighting games.
It's probably the best fighting game right now
Very good but it has a huge learning curve that never really ends. You have to put in a decent amount of time and effort to get good.
Also if you make Tekken threads on Yea Forums you'll attract a retard who posts some wojak edits and pasta about mashing.
wow thats alot of hours dude. who do you play as?
Lili
Though I have learned to play a few other characters like Heihachi, Steve, Asuka, Eliza, Kuma, Nina, Leo, Kazuya. I'd love to learn to play as many characters as possible cause it's fun to play different people, but now I'm trying to just stick with Lili and learn matchups.
A very good fighting game that demands a lot out of you. Hope you're okay with looking up everything you need to know online, because the game doesn't offer anything to help.
100% this
More like 4K which is amazing for a fighting game and better than any other
Added it to my wishlist now, thanks for the feedback guys.
I've never played too much of the series but I've always liked King the most. I want to try him first. Definitely ready to put in some work to get resulsts. It's been a really long time since I've played any multiplayer games so it'll be refreshing.
>Lili
Wow what a surprise, Yea Forums faggots play braindead easy waifu bait characters.
King's top tier, learn the basics then watch LilMajin play and learn from him.
King is top 10 in the game and pretty simple to pickup
His combos are easy except the absolute max damage stuff and he'll carry you through the ranks since no one can break throws until purple ranks
t. King main
Really gotta love how King allows even the biggest shitters to coast through ranked.
Everything he does leads to a mixup, throw, guaranteed damage (Count the shoves in the matches Majin was in at EVO), or acts as a counterhit launcher for Paul tier damage (ff1 is just fucking broken), all while having absurd OKI on every single knockdown.
>Learn to break throws lmao are you shit or something
Throws are fucking cancer to deal with and even the best players get caught by them from time to time. JDCR got thrown in his matches, Lowhigh got chainthrown, and every single one of them is chunky as fuck and with few exceptions safe to throw out, except Giant Swing. They're not easy to break and whoever spouts that shit needs a reality check.
Even without throws King would still be strong. He has high, mid, low counterhit launchers, good whiffpunishment, a hopknee, 8 or so +on block moves, Oki that makes Yoshimitsu envious, AND ON TOP OF THAT the strongest throwgame in Tekken.
Shit for single player, but really good if you plan to play multiplayer.
fun but I wouldn't get it unless you have friends who play it. If you are interested in singleplayer content this is not the game for you.
Unironically learn to break throws
Sure Knee and JDCR get thrown but because they can consistently break throws they don't lose 80% of their healthbar just to throws.
If you can force a king player to play the neutral game then you're doing good against him
I do agree that FF+1 is one of the best moves in the game but King has like 1 good low to offset his strong throw game.
If you want to counter or shut down most King players then space them out and be patient. All a King player wants to do is get plus frames and throw you and if you let him do that then you're fucked
>So to those that have put a good amount of time into othe game, what do you think of it?
Its good, but if its your first Tekken, its a bitch to get in to. You have to learn a loooot, not only about the character you play, but also about every other character.
Luckily enough there are a ton of tournaments being streamed almost every weekend to see stuff.
Players wise, I had no problems finding matches on PC in the EU region at every level of play, its very active from what I can tell, might be the most played fighting game online.
I have almost 500 hours in and I can say it's really fun and I don't seem to ever get tired of it.
The only times when I got really frustrated was at the beginning 100-200 hours when I thought I wasn't really getting any better no matter what.
I don't think this is accurate. You can just talk with people on discord and make tekken friends to play with that way.
Best fighting game in current gen. Pretty good.
He has the strongest throw game and weak lows. King is a good character in this version but nowhere near the top, online will make his throws harder to break though.
When you make a point about pros not teching a throw, it's generally because their opponent has been sparing with throws that match and they were taken by surprise.
unironically one of the best fighting games of all time.
but if ur a scrub, its hard to pick up and play
I suppose that's correct, to rephrase, OP should only buy it if he has friends who are interested or is willing to make friends who also play
Why? Playing online is enough to sustain you. I've got over 400 hours of purely player and ranked matches
It's the only good fighting game.
you will not have fun for the first 50 hours its pretty good afterwards.
Is Akuma good and worth picking up in this game?
If you don't find learning fun then fighting games aren't for you
He's very strong but the execution required to get the most out of him is very high. He's possibly the hardest character to play at a good level
>is akuma good
>6 days after he blew up all the koreans in a major tournament
goddamn that is sexy
user a good enough player could have done that with Gigas
Every character in Tekken 7 is tournament viable
I haven't played him but everyone in Tekken is worth picking up, there's no characters that can't win.
I believe Akuma's thing is big combo damage if you have great execution so he might not be a good pick for your first character.
God that low parry is fucking sexual
You literally just said all characters are good..
Honestly no, I dont think so. I dont think a good en ough player could have blown up LowHigh like that and defeat a Jin out of all characters in a dominating fashion
Super Akouma is a fucking madman for doing these max damage combos in tournament
the good thing about tekken 7 is that it is actually really really well balanced, you can play any character and succeed with it
last years tekken world tour was won by a guy playing panda after years of people saying bears are shit tier and not viable for tounaments
and just last week a guy playing akuma blew out a ton of koreans and took the first big tournament of this years tekken world tour
Yes I did. I'm also saying that "X just won at a tournament" is dumb reasoning for a character being good
Why not? Every character in this game is good. This is possibly the greatest balanced fighting game ever
absolutely beautiful and highly arousing
He is strong but it's quite annoying to play him because once you got meter, you've got to make the biggest plays from situations. Say for example you block a move that's -12, you've got to be ready to convert that punishment into damage. And to get huge damage you have to master his fireball FADC. It's not that hard but doing it in a clutch is. Experience from SF4 helps.
Unless the player is much better than the rest, how else would you win with a character except it being at least "good"? What?
Very sexy webms, picking Akuma up.
I played him in 3S and 4, does that count?
I just wanna satsu people in 3D ok?
first I saw so many of pic related outside of an actual tournament. That guy was on another level during that tournament.
This is no EVO moment 37 but it's damn close
People win in other games with low tier characters user
Is this your first fighting game?
Because SuperAkouma hit them with some shit they never seen before.
You dont get to surprise LowHigh with any other character than the 2D guests like that, he is just too solid of a tournament player
Seems like a very balanced game LMAO
Go play MK11 kids, a real king of neutral game and stylish combos
are you fucking retarded?
Nothing SuperAkouma did was surprising
The shit he did was super impressive but it's shit we've seen done with Akuma before. He didn't pull out some super new Akuma tech no one has seen before
you might be retarded, get yourself checked m8
The speed at which you have to do a fireball FADC into b+1 (your biggest combo starter) is about the same you would do in SF4. If you've got that in the muscle memory, you're good to go.
And to elaborate what I mean with the speed : When you cancel fireball into FADC, you are given plus frames ranging from +16 to whatever the lowest is, and the amount of frames you get is dependant on how fast you did the dash after focus attack. b+1, your best launcher, is 14 frames so you're only given three frame window to hit it. Once again, it's not hard to do in training mode but man is it sometimes hard to do in the clutch.
There are easier ways to burn meter too but they don't do nearly as much damage as a fireball cancel does. Definitely a fun character to play but hard to master.
>stylish combos
>the game actually has no combos
rage quit/10
Are you?
The Tekken world tour champion is a Panda player
A character widely regarded as bottom 3 in the game and you're telling me a low tier character can't win in a tournament?
One of the top fighters on the market today, best Tekken since 3.
Yeah I'm sure people get hit by that Flip reset in tournaments all the time
You just don't know how to do them
did you even manage to read any of the posts you are replying to? it's like you're a bot. re fucking read what was said
They literally do
That's day 1 Akuma tech
Remember when this was a thing?
You enjoy your burka babes tho
>Someone could have won with Gigas because this game is well balanced
>No they couldn't they would need a good character
>The world champion is Panda though
user you're retarded. This is literally the conversation
OP you should watch this stream. But dont listen to that underaged chat.
twitch.tv
most players go for the safe damage option instead of doing resets
Look, I'll help you out. A character being low tier doesn't have to mean it's bad. Don't forget to breathe.
HOW DO I STOP THIS CRINGE GIFTING SUB AD ON TWITCH I FUCKING CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE
>wake up
>push the prostitute I forced to wear a Kazumi cosplay off my bed
>punch the picture of Kazuya I have on my wall
>Raijin Stance my way to the bathroom
>brush teeth and wash face
>yell "HASHI!" 10 times in the mirror
>boot up my pc and get ready for some Tekken
>ask the Heihachi discord if theres any new Heihachi tech
>"b,b3+4 into b,b3+4"
>start up Tekken 7
>spend 2 hours in practice mode doing demon uppercuts against the Kazuya cpu
>time for some online ranked
>select my favorite Heihachi custom, the default one(no time to make customs when literal devils are walking around)
>first match, it's a Kazuya player, a deluded fool
>start off the 1st round with a demon uppercut, the best move in the game
>of course it lands, a calculated risk
>make quick work of him, he couldn't handle my barrage of demon uppercuts and HASHI's
>winquit him
>those with the blood of a devil are destined to remain blue ranked forever, but I will ascend from this ranked-hell soon enough into the purple ranks where I rightfully belong
>that's enough ranked for today
>close Tekken 7 and go on google
>search "how to tell if your son is a devil"
>i love him but i sense there is something off about him
>check the Heihachi discord
>someone posted that they're feeling suicidal about Heihachi dying in the story
>"Harada is lying, Heihachi is alive and wall" I tell him "the demons must be stopped."
>time to leave, me and my son are going to visit the grand canyon today
Any other Heihachi players here?
>A character being low tier doesn't have to mean it's bad.
That's literally what I've been saying this entire time you mouthbreather
My original post says "This is possibly the most balanced fighting game ever"
My god you're dumb
>Unless the player is much better than the rest, how else would you win with a character except it being at least "good"?
>at least good
Wait was Panda world champion or asian champion?
What fucking relevance does that have?
You said that in reply to me saying a Gigas player could have won the tournament
What the fuck point are you trying to make? That Gigas isn't good? Because he may be bottom 3 but he's still tournament viable
World. Rangchu won the TWT World Final
>Heihachi discord
Is this a real thing?
Doesn't it have bots?
t. Boomer whose last Tekken was 3
Every character has a Discord
Goddam Tekken is so boring to watch, they just spam random buttons, no projectiles, no neutral, fuck this shit.
Best Tekken but not best fighting game at all.
Oh yeah.
When is EVO?
August 2nd
>August 2nd
maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan
Will Lil Majin make comeback? Or did he get eternally cucked?
I think he plans on going to Evo. He doesn't really get enough days off from work to justify going to tournaments. He's been playing a ton and is in better shape than ever though
early august but in 2 weeks there is an korean tournament, loads of good players that dont usually travel will probably attend it
lmao hes cucked i cant wait to see that little nigger cry in main stage again haha
>american players
who cares
American players
Majin didn't cry the first time. You are thinking about punk
>why yes I main Bryan, how did you know?
Joey Fury, Anakin, Jimmy J, Cuddle Core, Majin, Trungee
All of them are good enough to take a tournament
Is Akuma really this busted? could have sworn people have been saying he was low tier for like 2 years now
You can only say that after Lars win a major
#bufflars
People say he's low tier because the execution required to get this damage makes him less viable in a tournament
Everyone is low tier except Devil JIN :)
It is not the best tekken game
Db fighterz is literally tekken perfected
True best tekken is Tekken 2.
how much longer do you think t7 is gonna be alive for? realistically
tekken char in smash or riot
tekken is the best
clips.twitch.tv
Name one (1) better Tekken game
Tekken 1-5 are all broken kusoge
TTT are all trash because they're tag fighters and not Tekken games
T6 was decent
It will be alive until the next Tekken is released
2021 when T8 gets announced for next gen consoles
Tekken 5 DR
so she had tits what im supposed to se in that webm
what is the y-axis here
underrated post
Tekken 7 is the perfect demostration of how gameplay and online matters over anything else. It's why the story, arcade, characters stories / endings for all characters, treasure mode, customisation, special modes like Force are bad and inferior to the previous games.
Also lacking.
Based Heihachi player.
Tekken 7 is probably the best fighting game at the moment. However, starting out can be quite rough as it doesn't have any form of tutorial system or way to explain basic concepts that are unique to it.
The bad Tekken 7 story also ruined the lore due the retcons, also characters like Julia.
It's a good game but i immensely prefer soul calibur
Where's bloody roar fag? It can't be a tekken thread without him autistically shitting it up.
Julia needs donations for the rainforest, pls subscribe
Play on PC or Ps4?
Both are decently active. Probably comes down to what is more commonly played in your local scene.
based
Or rather absent.
PS4 has 90% wifi shitters and for some reason most of the players are gimmicky.
PC has pretty much only wired users and play a lot better without gimmick shit.
I say both. Learn how to play against gimmick shit on PS4, learn how more of the better players play on PC.
the amount of bryans is so fkn high in EU...
he is the new Paul or Kazuya. i really dislike his memey archetyp of le ebil cyborg but... i wont be a bitch about it and let people enjoy
What character is pure anti bryan?
feels good
Bryan is a busted ass character tons of bullshit safe moves you can throw out for free
The character being hard to play is also a fucking meme from bryan mains
bryan is a character that is good against scrubs and easy to use. Until prurple/fujin ranks, you dont need much knowledge to use him. After that you need godlike execution to see improvements. Good counters against bryan are characters that can launch his qcb3, like kazuya and josie
I have 70 hours clocked
this was my first Tekken
I used to main Miguel now I main Lee Wu Long and am red ranked on both
it's pretty fun, get it
Tekken being high execution at all is a meme
>TJU
>PEWGF
>Akuma
>King FF+1 combos
>Good movement
please show me a video of you doing 3 taunt jet uppers in a row...
Anyone with a good hopkick (backdash and wait for a whiff since most shitty Brians will just throw out orbital heel which has shit range) or mid crush moves (can crush orbital heel and a lot of his mid counter hits like his big boot) , so Xaio, Kat, Claudio, Alisa, possibly even Raven
>70 hours
>Red rank
This is season 2 ranks
Bros... I'm new to tekken and the characters which I find the most enjoyable are Law and Heihachi. Are they any good?
Yes
Buy it for Lili's delicious Ass and legs
Law is arguably the best character in the game imo. Heihachi is shit
Law is a candidate for top 5 in the game
It's the best fighting game right now. Number 2 to only street fighter v which is the same as being number 1
Heihachi is good but why would you ever play him when Devil Jin does everything Heihachi can but 10x better?
It's pretty good. VERY difficult to master. King alone as almost 200 moves (a lot are copycat situational moves that are basically the same, but just have a different name attached).
Don't bother unless you're willing to invest a lot of time in it
And even if you do you could play for years and still be a scrub without the proper guidance
>Number 2 to only street fighter v which is the same as being number 1
Literally nobody thinks this
Heihachi looks cooler
King has the most moves in the game
30 of them are throws though including his chain throws
The legacy characters that have been in the game since T1 have a ton of moves but you'll never see more than a handful realistically for most characters
haha nope. sfv is shit
Devil Jin gets removed.
All the guidance that you will need is available on youtube.
Is Master Raven good character?
Most likely this gen's best fighting game
PC version is the best version too
You won't regret it senpai
Yes
Is SCVI even alive on PC?
I'm getting that or Tekken 7
I like that the swedish tekken man is making videos showcasing how absolutely fucked T5DR was.
Just get Tekken, it has way more people online.
>ready to put in some work to get resulsts
That what everyone thinks at first.
And then they're hit with the truth bomb that the amount of effort they thought they needed was actually 1/10th of what they need to do.
Imo things would be a lot more manageable if throws didn't pseudoparry moves
You're better off watching tournaments. This game if more fun to watch than play. It's a god damn slog to play and the satisfaction for winning isn't there unless you're winning locals. Online just boils down to gimmicks and connections
Getting really conflicted messages about how to learn to play this game, I've never learnt any tekken game before
I watched this IGN thing where they get this guy to fake being a pro, and his coach (Ryan Hart) said you should learn every single move for your character, but I've seen other people say it's not worth it
If you don't know how the game works, learn all moves.
If you know how it works, use only the best moves.
Pray tell what are the safe move the be throw about other than Orbital and 3+4 against everything that isn't AK
I struggle a lot with him and I need to know what's the cheap shit in case it gets to that.
I mean you probably should know all the moves for a character. If things get close you can always throw out some meme move that the opponent might not know how to respond to.
>next time it's on sale on PC
>doesn't buy it already for 15 dollars from cdkeys.com
retard
just learn a couple moves at a time or you'll get overwhelmed
look up a top10/top15 moves list for your character, lean on them and use them a lot in different situations to see how you can and cannot use them effectively
youtube.com
TJU is a fucking meme you don't even need it it's just bryan main jerking it off to it in training mode and never actually land it in a real match
If you're struggling with him is because you're a scrub he's so easy and braindead
A lot of those strings are interchangeable. You can also try doing unconventional moves to catch people off guard, but all in all I don't think learning your whole move list in Tekken is worth it. People have already figured out the optimal strings, and you're just making it harder for yourself. Tekken is already not the easiest game to get into.
This guy gets it
>Tekken 1-5 are all broken kusoge
Imagine actually believing this
the tekken juggling combo system is so boring
t4
T4 is pure kusoge that game is wacky as fuck
>Get a 3 bar connection
>Pick King, Bryan, Law, Katarina, Noctis, Kazuya, Paul, Hwoarang, or Alisa
>Spam their gimmick move
>Profit
Boom! You're a red rank now.
I'm trash at 3D fighters and going back to 2 or 2.5D anime ones.
