>prequel shows he was actually a regular guy afraid of the power he was given, couldn't control it and fucked everything up

As much as I enjoyed the DLC it really makes me think of what could've been. Either
>main game in development for an extra year or so and launching with the QoL enhancements of Torna
Or, even better
>Torna as a full-price prequel to XB2 that also explores the other titans that were killed off screen, etc
I liked Torna for the the better party (in terms of both character and design), tweaked battle system, and other improvements but the short length and community requirement at the end really brought it down. Hopefully the next Xenoblade game gets a few more years in the oven but looking at Monolith's and the Xeno series' track records that'll probably never happen. Only ONE game they developed didn't have major flaws (XB1), but that was more than likely just a fluke.

I really don't like Torna's treatment of Amalthus. The main game made him seem like a broken man who wanted to be the "moral" guy in a world he hates while Torna just made him a treacherous mustache-twirling saturday morning cartoon villain.

Not that much of a surprise considering the guy said it himself in the main game. The real surprise was that Mythra and Pyra weren't lying when they said that Rex reminded them of him. He's pretty laid back for the guy that is suppose to be leading an army against Malos.

>main game with the QoL enhancements of Torna
Man, that would have been my favorite game of this generation.
Can't wait for Yuzu to play this at 1080p60 and redo my 300 hour save.

He even have the same field lines (jumping/picking up shit) and both like the same food.

How old were Addel and Hugo supposed to be?

I agree, the overall story of Torna when placed in the scheme of the original game isn't very good. I just really enjoyed the main party. Not only are Lora and Jin a better duo with a more believable romance than Rex and Pyra, but the designs were also much more down to earth than the main cast's eccentric flair (which isn't totally bad, to be fair). And having a "preset" party that interacts in nearly every side quest made those way more enjoyable as well.
In terms of "story" the only other thing Torna did better was the final boss, which admittedly was exactly what it should have been in the original. Having that Siren battle in the atmosphere while fighting Malos or something to that effect would have been pure kino.

Both XB2 and XBX are so close to favorite game of all time for me, and ironically they seem to have almost entirely opposite issues. I really hope X2 gets the dev time and budget it needs to fulfill my expectations.

Hugo is at least 18, Addam is probably in his late 20's if he played with Hugo.

>18
What the fuck is up with the Superbian royal bloodline's perfect shota genes?

Minoth got screwed, though.
I thought he would at least have a side-quest dedicated to him when we saw him spying on Lora and Jin's conversation, but nope.

>Minoth
>Wiki states that he's supposed to be the man eater in Invidia
Wait.... what? Did I really miss something that important? Was that stated somewhere or are people only making that connection because both are man eaters?

Nevermind, I'm actually retarded.
They both have the same scar over their left eye....

Nigger, did you play the whole DLC without realizing it?

XB1 was far jankier

Yes.

Attached: XC2_-_Cole_Reminiscing.png (1280x720, 952K)

I don't remember this scene.

how fucking dumb could you be to not realize that

Pyra calls him that.
Did you also forgot that he was Amalthus' Blade and you went on to give him his blade knife?

Attached: XC2_-_Cole_Real_Name.png (1280x720, 1020K)

Well in my defense, I thought XB2 was going to be pure shit based on the jankiness and ugly designs so I didn't pay much attention to the early parts of the story. It's become one of my favorite JRPGs, though.
I'm sorry, I'm autistic and dumb.

I remember that he was his blade, but I don't remember the knife. I remember you give him something back.

I bet you also missed on Zettar visiting Indol at the end of the DLC implying that Tantal was formed by him and that Zeke is in fact related to Addam in a way.

No, the base game painted him like a psychopath enjoying the chaos of the world who tries to justify his actions through God, yet still wants to kill everyone

Nah, I got that one. I was really invested in the plot by the time you get to Superbia and, of course, I was very invested in the DLC's plot.

He will be forever be remembered as one of the few examples where a creator successfully managed to destroy a ship.

I still need to get around to playing Torna...got the expansion pass day one and currently playing NG+ of 2 right this second, but I still haven’t played Torna...

I agree, it was one of the things that bothered me the most about the DLC. Especially with the way seemingly everyone in the party looks at him and seems to instantly identify him as a total scumbag, it just makes it seem like everyone else in Alrest must be a retard to not see it too.
I don't even have that much of a problem with Torna portraying him as an overall shitty person, but it really was just too cartoonish for my tastes.

>Superbia
>Invidia
Nigga what, are those the jap names or something?

Stuff like history and legends tend to do that, they make these people sound greater than they actually were
makes em sound like they weren't regular people like you would see today, which I feel should be done more in games that are basing off of reality or games having prequels that take place far in the past

He was shit
But at least we learned why Mythra is obsessed with little boys

Addam was a great character. I wish they had a character who made me as often in the main game. Still a great game and dlc though

Addam was shit.

*made me as hot

God he's such a hunk *o*

Addam was a great person.
Mythra didn't deserve him as a driver and fucked his whole life up.

Well, Zettar's clan probably used misinformation about Addam in order to profit from it after having usurped him

There's 500 years between Torna and the main game, Amalthus has had a lot of time to change

I'm on to you, retard

Nah, fuck that. He made his own mistakes.

Mythra didn't even care about him, she wanted Milton.

you should try actually playing the game sometime

That's History for you. Pretty sure it's the same for all the all the historical figures we see highly to this days

>Fans interpret non-playable character as a love interest of a playable character prior to the games setting
>Prequels shows their relationship was not as fans perceived

Torna is non-canon.
>Jin becomes a sociopath because he lost ONE woman
>What if we had Rex spout "humorous" dialogue like Zeke and call him a new character?
>What if we add a gormotti shota to the party for literally no reason?
>Oh yeah, Mikhail is here too...
>What if Judicium didn't actually sink during the war, or maybe it did - who knows!
>Coeia was a large power in Alrest - too bad no one mentions it in 500 years!
>Cliffs of Morytha? What's that?
>Weapons designed to kill Blades, and possibly even Titans? In Old Torna? Nope!

Attached: 1536375284491.jpg (1024x512, 94K)

>Fans
It was the voice actress that shipped them

>Jin becomes a sociopath because he lost ONE woman
stopped reading, he became what he did because of the slavery of blades. Lora's death is why he doesn't an hero

It amazes me that people still don't understand this.
