I usually spend mine to better fit any Agents I want to specialize in a certain Abnormality, like raise their Justice if Funeral of the Dead Butterflies needs a new specialist or reinforce someone’s sanity who’s already good at dealing with White Damage but needs an upgrade to be assigned to something stronger

Either hire more people or level up people, depending on how early in the game you are. 5 ain't enough for late game but early on it's fine.
You can grind out stats just by working on abnormalities but you need decent stats to not die to things.

Panic scales alongside employee level and enemy level, so a recruit seeing Punishing Bird will probably worry them a bit but not even effect a veteran, but seeing Nothing There free himself will instantly make the recruit panic and worry the veteran
Best advice i can give is to invest in Prudence and make anyone you know that has a weak tolerance for being scared avoid any big and bad monsters that are free

I dunno those numbers, but I do know that around 14 works with a HE abnormality with good results gets a level 3 stat to 5. So I typically give employees level 5 temperance and work on the following for stats.
Justice - F-01-69 or O-05-76
Fortitude - O-02-98
Prudence - F-01-37 or F-02-49

Anything higher than 1.0 means you're weak to that damage from an abnormality. Anything lower than 1.0 means you resist the damage instead.
0.2 is the lowest it can go, and 2.0 is the highest it can go.

I just realized the plot of this game is basically inverse monster's inc.

Higher numbers = worse protection (why it says vulnerable), the lowest gear I have so far goes to around 0.2 resistance.

Imagine 5 damage x 0.2 is (1) compared to clothes that have a resistance of 2.0; where 5 x 2.0 causes 10 damage. It's really useful against things that deal ~10 damage per task failure.

I've heard of levels below 0.0 (full immunity) going to -1.0 but not seen it.

Da Capo armor and ego gift absorb white damage. Must have both pieces

Every time you work an anomaly, the counter goes down. When it hits meltdown, a random anomaly will be chosen, which must be worked inside the timer.

If you fail to work that anomaly, it will automatically hit zero and do bad things.

The counter then increments: Next time you meltdown, you'll have two anomalies to work inside the timer.

It scales to 10 before rolling back to 1, and is generally a soft cap on how much you can grind, since you need to be incredibly prepared to handle ten fucking anomalies trying to go bad at once.

that's how many areas will go into meltdown once you do enough work in the top left, once it happens you have a minute to tend to everything that has that meter or they'll escape or do what they do once their counter reaches 0

How it decreases varies by abnormality, but generally if it gets to 0 its ability is triggered (in most cases, an escape).
The meter on top will fill up every time someone enters a containment room, you can't avoid it. When it fills it'll make random abnormalities have a red pulsing outline, if you don't send someone to work with them in time their individual counter(s) will hit 0 when the 60s limit is up. You can safely ignore meltdowns on abnormalities with no counters/escape capability (i.e tools or One Sin).
Sometimes filling the meltdown counter starts an Ordeal, which will spawn a certain type of enemy depending on color and gets more difficult which each time of day indication (dawn -> noon -> dusk -> midnight). Dawn ones can usually be dispatched by the time you start getting them.

So what happens if I hit a meltdown, but the 60 second warning is on something like One Sin or a Tool that doesn't have an escape or negative state?

this is where the Quality > Quantity strat falls apart a bit for me sometimes, in the later stages of the game i'm underemployed but armed to the teeth with the best workers money can buy, but sometimes 15-20 different monsters begin melting down and it's inevitable that 2 or 4 of them escape in the process

First weeks using LOB points for a starting squad of 5 employees is good enough, but you will need more agents as you reach the midgame so try to strike a balance with that.

I like some of the different challenges, I used to spend a long time on some missions casually going at a smaller number of abnormalities. I think the longest so far was 86 minutes on an upper supression trying out different things after accidentally an entire department.

Yes, they unlock special effects if you complete them all that can give you game changing upgrades. Hod's mission in particular lets you buy recruits that have 3's in all their stats instead of 1's

You can "underlevel" them for free after getting that upgrade.

Level 3 in certain stats, but apparently you can deduce those when you buy and upgrade a new employee, I haven’t tested that myself though
The two Abnormalities that have a problem with the Lvl 3 upgrade are kind of push overs anyways, I wouldn’t worry about it

So you then have to eyeball it to get them together, though I'm making notes of what is adjusting just in case it's the same each time. For masks, you just need to mess with the front hair and mouth.Front hair covers most of the face except the bottom portion where the chin is, you have to make a mouth image to cover the chin

Ordeals exist to throw a wrench into your work, they will spawn mobs in the facility and you need to eradicate them

Some are more dangerous then others, most ordeals are just mobs wanting to kill everything but some others will try to release abnormalities, make your employees panic or just outright nuke a healing hub/large room

I forgot to add that all the Max means is how difficult it is, it scales through a full day and eventually caps out at midnight

The only one I've ever had problems with are the bugs, their constant jumping around really fucks with the hitboxes of melee staff
