hunger

I removed it with commands in one of playthroughs and it was 2x better

as soon as these were introduced

When it became apparent that mojang didn't give a shit about a decent sense of progression. This game is only good as a lego simulator unless you mod it beyond recognition, and even then it's hard to mash mods together without bloating the whole thing horribly.

When they started adding really pointless shit.

the different wood and dirt types is interesting, but ultimately annoying af. It's bad enough to have a bunch of dirt blocks in your inventory, but then there's different kinds making their own clutter? smdh

probably once terrain gen was changed, so beta 1.8 i think.
on a side note, does anyone know how to get texture packs to work with beta 1.7.3 on the official launcher? i have a texturepack folder (Not resource pack) and texturepacks in there but they dont show up in game

whats wrong with them

Fixing to set up a server for my bros. Been so long since I've touched it. Looking forward to trying out all the new content.

>being this much of a casual

1.7

When it stopped being Infiniminer.

There isn't a fullscale creative sandbox mode, where you can effortlessly remove shitton of blocks or add stuff. Everything in Minecraft takes so much time and pain.

I actually just started playing again a few days ago after not having played since high school. I expected to hate all the changes, but I'm actually having a great time. Very different, but nothing that made me want to stop playing.

like said, neat for detailed buildings but ultimately just clutters your inventory. really should have just been a mod

>day three and still haven't found a nether fortress
I just want to have potions dammit.

FPBP

honestly the game would be so much more fun if the enemies actually posed a decent threat, and as a result resource collecting/base building becomes more defense focused rather than just building whatever you want. it sucks that the endgame of survival basically just becomes creative mode

>There isn't a fullscale creative sandbox mode, where you can effortlessly remove shitton of blocks or add stuff. Everything in Minecraft takes so much time and pain.
But there IS that mode. Why are you so stupid?

there are some tricks to finding them.
I can't remember exactly but there's some pattern to their spawning. worth looking up

on new playthroughs i just resort to making a fully livable bases in the nether and in the end. its kinda fun realizing how much you take for granted in the overworld when you get to the end and realize you need a way to breed animals, grow plants, keep away enderniggers, etc if you want to sustain yourself indefinitely in the end

Why should I download a goddamn mod to enjoy my game you retard? Some people like vanilla, can't you understand that?

I would like to see more monsters, yes
Not situational shit like the phantom but just more threats that can spawn whenever

Red dust autistic shit, completely ruined the game for me and the fanbase got full on autisitc mode because of it, it was pretty bad before that but after? Literally "you wana join my dadsh minecwarsht sherbert".

if you like vanilla you wouldn't be complaining about the lack of easy creation tools, dumbfuck. stupid fucking nigger holy shit

It irks me how shallow absolutely all of the content is.

it was never good

They spawn directly north, south, east or west of other fortresses, so you'll find them if you move diagonal instead.

>mods are bad
Fukken wut

>being this autistic
Calm the fuck down Notch.

It never did and is still good.

>having this profound lack of an internal monologue to say two completely mutually exclusive things
kys

yeah that's what's sick about the end and the nether, enemies actually pose a threat to you AND your base, so how you build stuff actually has significance

Attached: redstone-crafter-world-2.jpg (700x331, 94K)

that's it. thank you user

Attached: 1522266951790.gif (346x263, 945K)

>you need to download a shitty mod to enjoy this game properly
Why moddingfags are so stupid?

Big surprise faggot. Some people don't enjoy seeing their game tarnished with mods.

if it was a shitty mod you wouldn't want its features now would you? dumb nigger

You guys DO KNOW that there's a sandbox mode already in the game, right?

That crater would look neat if it was entirely submerged.

Beta 1.8

>here have absolutely everything handed to you
creative mode a shit

>new update
>walk around for ~30 mins
>find a village and a cool mountain behind it
>decide to build on a mountain
>few days later Pillagers rape me and the whole village

I believe ever since Microsoft got the game it lost it's touch.
Past updates added slightly general things that led to complexity in design, while now more specific ideas are being added. Why build something original when that specific thing exists. What I'm saying is more of a game design standpoint than literal.

>Potions literally let you swim in lava
>Creepers can be cheesed by dumping cobblestone in front of them
>Every other mob can be avoided by using a bed
The only thing that has decent chance of killing the player is fall damage and other players.

when it became clear that they were never going polish what they had. they were just going to add more filler.
they never improved the combat. they tried but somehow made it worse.
the player models still look like amateur dogshit and the animations are horrible.
they never touched up the textures and just left it to the community to give their game a coherent artstyle.
hunger should've been a bonus for overhealing so that you regenerate health for a while, and it should speed up your sprint, not drain your energy. there's already an incentive for farming since you need food to recover health anyway, making it drain your health is fucking retarded. at most it should limit your max hp to simulate starving without making you drop dead because you didn't eat in half an hour.
it doesn't matter how much content they add now. it's still a time sync where half the mechanics aren't remotely enjoyable.

>they never touched up the textures
they actually did in the latest update

Biggest problem about enemies is that they either spawn in a group and stomp you or that killing them is a boring chore and you'd rather just build a tunnel to avoid them.
They spawn in dark places, they can literally spawn behind you if you don't drop torches everywhere in caves, they can spawn inside your house. If they actually behaved a bit like current passive mobs they'd be interesting. Maybe with a larger spawn distance, better pathfinding. Spawn less of them maybe, but make them faster. Smarter.

what mod are those traits from?

Some say it was the combat update, others say it was the hunger update
For me? Personally it's the hunger update
>Low on health
>Eat food to refill hunger
>2.5 hearts refill
>Hunger is now 90% full instead of 100%, so now my health is no longer regenerating and I'll need to eat another food item to refill that 10% of my hunger bar
>Unless I spend a few irl hours making a fuckload of bread, I'll always have less than half health and low hunger preventing me from running around
>In a game where enemies regularly hit you for half your health
It made an already slow game even slower.

It wasn't. In fact, it's better under Microsoft because there's more shit to do vs the constant feature creep that (((notch))) put in.

There's a reason why Notch panders to contrarians on his twitter now, because if it wasn't for the useless NPCs calling him "based" and "/ourguy/" for saying basic bitch contrarian political opinions no one would actually like him as a game designer.

It's slowly gotten worse and to understand why, you need to look at the title. MineCraft. One part Mine, one part Craft. You gather resources and then you use them to build things.
They keep adding stuff to the "craft" part i.e. new building blocks, new biomes to build in, and new mobs to build farms for. But in ten years the way you gather resources has not changed. Strip mining and caving are the exact same as they were years ago. They really need to add underground biomes and make the world extend deeper. It doesn't even take ten minutes to get to the lowest point in the world.

it's an annoyance, not a challenge.

>Not taking over a village and creating underground pathways to each house and sealing off the entrances, effectively making the whole town your house and watching through the windows as all the Illagers try to get to you

>contrarian opinion
Seethe more transvestite

I'm glad that this is still the first post every time this thread gets made

Infinite world generation.

Nigger before hunger, you couldn't stack food and your HP didn't regenerate. The game was infinitely harder before the shitty hunger update.

Seems to be the common one
Also remember they can't live rent free if you don't allow them to

You had one or two cooked porkchops in your inventory to regain a good chunk of your hp instantly. Like 6 or 8 hearts, it was WAY faster to heal than it is now. You have similar functionality on health potions now and they're midgame item and are still slower just because of the drinking animation.
Now everything has to be a farm, I'm already sick just thinking about jerking off over muh wheat and cows for an hour to keep some acceptable food on me for when I want to go play cave explorer.

Attached: 1458434327566.jpg (1024x698, 160K)

hey, quick question.
i really would want to get a bit more mods for my game, but i dont know what are the exact mod that could fit what i would want. also my PC is a 10 year old potato so sometimes a modded game starts to lag insanely, so i would prefer mods that dont need as much power (thats why i use 1.9 despite not caring about newer versions, is there a newer versions that is also pretty good in terms of stability?)
I have industrial craft and roguelike dungeons. i would probably prefer more items to fight with and more mobs/biomes.

Attached: 154697839582231.jpg (572x303, 123K)

the moment the idea formed in that fat autistic redditor's mind

what launcher should I use if I want to play 1.14 for free?

Grow potatoes user.

Then build a blast furnace, hopper and chest then harvest the potatoes you should get multiple of them. Enough to put one back in the ground and some left over. then put the rest in the chest and let them auto cook.
You'll get shit loads of baked potatoes that heal hunger really fast

i saw shiginima launcher already having 1.14.

ah nice i like that one, I noticed some launchers now support multiplayer skins, but I guess I will go the trusty shignima since I have no friends to play.

I seriously don't understand these days.
I've been playing a new survival world since yesterday, and now I have so many chiken meat and beef that I don't even know what to do with them. I end up cooking them just for the experience because there is no way I could end up eathing all of that shit.

When I grew up

Just use MultiMC dude, it's 100x better.

i actually would really want to play with you kind user, the only problem is finding a way to connect via lan.
im still so fucking mad hamachi is really unreliable now in terms of connection (unless something changed since 1.9 times or so and its actually good now)

Attached: 1541181656215.jpg (504x470, 98K)

If you really really want to turn it into a chore download pams harvestcraft

Nah, I'm fine with just how easy it is to manage food as and hunger it is.

Easy, 1.8.
>Food no longer healed health
>Bows now required to be drawn
>Pointless enderdragon BS
>Terrain generator became shittier
Take me back to 1.7.3

I use loonix and it's even worse here, I couldn't compile the GUI so I have to use from the command line, at least it doesn't require a account if you use it from terminal.

I wish there was a Free Open Source alternative to Hamachi (that's actually good and easy).

Casual as fuck
git gud

>git gud in a singleplayer sandbox lego builder game
Go back to CoD or whatever pvp hole you crawled out of.

Minecraft has no room for pvp, and if you think otherwise, enjoy getting banned from every decent server you try to 'play' on.

fuck minecraft

based shill, when is releasing?

No it doesnt. But that doesnt mean there shouldnt be a challenge.
The only people who give a shit about minecraft hunger are fat neckbeards who complain they have to come out of their shithole once in a while to find food.
No one else gives a shit.

Its a survival game cunt. If you want something casual why dont you fuck off back to cod.

oh well. ill just check myself for some stuff and maybe ill find something viable.

looks like a 2020 release

It was a sandbox game prior zoomer. I can already tell you had MC on the 360.

And you still have the option to play sandbox mode :^)

It really is too bad they had to add the hunger mechanic the way it is. It would have been much better if it acted more like armor where:
>If full, reduces damage taken by 25%, and if empty, you take 25% more damage
>Depleted when taking damage and thrice as slow as is current when standing still
>Eating food restored both health and hunger

I use radmin, not open source but gets the job done to play shit with friends

fuck these annoying fags

Attached: image.jpg (1200x513, 36K)

The only reason most on Yea Forums hate it now is that it became incredibly popular.

the update after 1.0
t. betafag

it got shit as soon as you got bored of it and then saw people still playing it and said "you guys still playing minecraft? move on faggots"

either that or when all the 2013 kiddies started playing it and then the game was normified

Attached: Buddhism hotline.png (254x211, 105K)

moment microsoft got their hands on it

So if one wanted to experience the golden age of Minecraft, which version would one download?

Attached: 1552640879355.gif (500x502, 3.85M)

Yeah the healing was instant, but if you were prepping for a big fat spelunking sesh, by the end of it you would have an inventory full of iron and diamonds, and next to no healing items. That shit was tense as fuck and I've never felt like that post hunger (except when i forget to bring a stack of food).

Day 1

its too late

When did you first play user? I'd start with there.

1.5 was the last good update. 1.6 and 1.7 were eh. 1.8 sucked ass. 1.9 ruined the game.

This will be unironically good when it releases, change my mind.

>Being THIS retarded
>He never enjoyed the custom map glory that was Super Hostile Kaizo Caverns prior to the hunger update
You basically had to have half your inventory full of soup just to survive sieging the last area of the game.

It never got good.

The half assedly implemented "gameplay" is just ridiculous.

I'd personally go with either 1.4.7 or 1.5.2, depending on compatibility stuff.

I've actually never played it, I just wanted to finally see what all the fuss is about and based on some of the comments here the current version is a no go.

Guess I'll start at 1.4.7, any particular reason why this version?

And if I still played MC I would (_8^(U_)

Ever since beta 1.8 introduced the new world generation. Currently in a 1.7.3 beta server with a couple of friends of mine. We just finished digging out a slime chunk and building a water elevator in the middle. I also built some roads between all of our houses and buildings

Attached: 2019-04-28_10.21.27.png (1360x768, 777K)

1.7.3
That's when I first picked it up and had the good good.

the end and the nether are boring shit that aren't even difficult to traverse.
>DUDE LAVA
>DUDE OBSCURE YOUR VISION BUT IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER BECAUSE THE END IS 10k BLOCKS FLAT WITH NO THREATS OTHER THAN ENDERMEN

>left click in a completely safe hallway for 4 hours so you can build one pillar of a castle
honestly it's fun the first time but survival just gets old on replay

and furthermore is your post implying getting things in minecraft is anything more than a timesink? because there isn't the slightest degree of difficulty in getting anyblock in MC except end shit and that's still just 90% a time sink

Game lets you download and play any patch in the game's history and people still nostalgiafag about how the game has been ruined and they can't play it anymore.

What shader?

like all the other dogshit minecraft type games released in the last few years, right

>So if one wanted to experience the golden age of Minecraft, which version would one download?
2011.exe
