Post yours
People yyou've played with
I never had online friends
You're not missing out on much, it's all fun and games until the match is lost.
>The retard who mashes through all the tutorial prompts and then complains the game is too hard and he doesn't know what to do
And then if I try and explain anything to him he's like "NOOO DO IT YOURSELF IT'S DUMB IT'S TOO HARD FUCKING BULLSHIT". If he just took 10 minutes to learn the game's systems he'd be fine but he wants to brute force everything with basic attacks and never varying his approach even when it's clearly not working.
He's 29 and has a full time job earning 6 figures
Every fucking time I swear to god, it's worse when they do it to try and look cool. Same faggot also watches tons of E-sports and deludes himself into thinking he can do the same.
>hey I'll brb
>"okay"
50 seconds later
>okay i'm back
>"where the fuck were you I was trying to tell you something"
>That autist who posts Twitter comics as a rebuttal to everything and never actually defends his points himself.
>Hey I gotta go do something
>Never returns
>Leaves call
>Dude what the fuck I was gonna come back
That one fucker who always screams and bitches about literally any other sound that is happening in a call. Even worse if he constantly and obnoxiously mimics it in the call to try and get you to shut it off.
>"Brb 2 min grabbing food"
>...
>...
>...
>an hour later returns
>"I have to go, see ya!"
Guess it means also watch an episode of a TV-show while eating, then finish said episode before returning.
>That guy who thinks he's really, really good, but don't have the skills to back that up and constantly bitches when he dies
With that said
>Tryhards who copy "pro-strats" only to not know the idea behind it, the concepts aand just follows it on a shallow level and having it work
I honestly don't think that's the way to improve, it's a crutch to kill low tier players but the wall is coming, quick.
Jay is so handsome
E-sports were a mistake, so is Twitch. I'm guilty of doing the whole going for food thing though, I always cook my meals and it takes a while, it also serves as a nice break and a nice excuse if I just don't want to be in call anymore.
The best looking guy out of the lot, which isn't saying much
i have one (1) irl friend i have been playing games with for years and i fucking hate how he plays
>play monster hunter world
>start a story mission, so i have to wait for him to watch the cutscene to join
>cutscene starts when he finds the monster
>he then proceeds to fuck around in the map for a solid 30mins while i sit my ass in the hub
>all the while while he talks over skype about what he's doing and how fun it is
>finally finds the monster, beat it in 10 mins
>every time he gets hit or carted he complains about how unfair it is
>took me days to make him undestand he has to buff up
>after every fucking quest he spends 30 fucking minutes at the hub looking at weapons and armor HE STILL CAN'T FUCKING MAKE
>literally do 3 quests in an afternoon then log off because it's dinner
>next week he calls me
>you know user, this game kind of bored me, let's try something else
>HE DOES THIS FOR EVERY FUCKING GAME, EVEN THE ONES HE CHOOSES
>IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 4 YEARS
i swear if he wasn't such a bro to me i would have beaten him for his crimes
That's the fucking problem with buying games to play with friends, they play it for a week and then never fucking touch it again, and you sit and stare at your Steam library after the fact wanting to kill yourself.
I watch (too much) e-sports and Twitch. I don't copy those strats into my games (>playing video games) though. It does give some sense of superiority though, some esoteric knowledge of what and what not to do. But most of the time it's for entertainment purposes.
The food thing is annoying because it leaves me in the unknown. If you say that you'll be back in an hour, it allows me to ask if we're gonna play more then, or if I should just abandon the idea for the night.
It would be just as shitty if I said I will just go grab my pizza (assuming it's been cooking), and the guys I play with immidiately replace me because I wasn't playing RIGHT NOW - however, food is easily consumed in front of PC anyway and I'm not that much of a chef that it really matters. Or just say that you'll be a while but intending or not to play when you're done.
>Skip all the dialogue
>wtf what am I supposed to do
>Put the game on very easy
>wtf developers are pussies I didnt die once
>Start a friendly party game
>goes online via cell phone to look up any glitches and pro strats
>everybody tells him to calm the fuck down
>10 minute autistic lecture from a guy who is 25 years old lives with his parents and never had a job about being the best at everything and not settling for mediocrity
I've grown to hate gamers basically.
Usually it's because of the fact that voice calls are fucking exhausting, and being in one locks you out of any other audio related thing for that entire time.
>Just get headphones lol
They get sweaty and uncomfortable after a while and I can't hear anything else that's going on, also I just don't like having to put on headphones every time I use my computer. So having a easy get out of jail free card is nice from time to time.
>Friendly party game
Shit is never fucking friendly and it serves as a front for people to get their shit out at each other, also if one thing goes wrong, everyone is at each other's throats
>t. Has played Sea of Thieves and Divinity and has been dealt the role of the scapegoat many a time
>playing morrowind multiplayer mod with friend
>wants to be the one that talks to npcs but doesn't read any dialogue out loud and skips pretty much all of it
I want to blow his fucking brains out
Dialogue is super fucking important in that game too, why the fuck do people do people think that dialogue isn't fucking important?
This thread makes me think of a few streamers

>gets upset that mashing buttons randomly isn't getting anywhere
>Had a friend that would say 'lol' instead of laughing

A phase that vanished after a while sure but it was fucking weird. Like, everything ready for laughter was there and it was obvious he was gonna laugh but all that plopped out was LOL
I'M A STRONG INDEPENDENT GAMER WHO DON'T NEED NO HELP
>That guy who minmaxes and saps all the fun
>mfw my sister is turning into this
How do these people even manage in life?
Does he watch speedruns and constantly tries to sequence break in every game he plays?
Why yes. Sounds like you know this sort of guy
>show friend literally anything (usually video game related)
>say I like it
>he instantly says it looks like shit just because I said I like it
Yeah, haha faggot
>that guys who only uses gear he likes but he likes only shit gear bonus points if he still playes better than you out of sheer skill
Is he a Souls autist or is he a pixel indie autist?
Just a vitriolic asshole
Low level gear also looks the best most of the time, being a fashionfag is painful
>Friend really likes Warhammer 40k
>Doesn't stop talking about it, even though we're all kinda indifferent and don't play the tabletop game or vidya
>Posts exclusively 40k memes in chat
>Tries to rope our friend group into playing 40k shit even though no one is interested
I like the guy but that shit would drive anyone crazy after a while, I've learnt so much lore about something I'm not invested into
Nah it's usually pretty friendly. We mainly do it with N64 games we never played the multiplayer portion before due to lack of 4 people. It was the first time Captain Autism was there.
I have a friend who's the same way, he plays nothing but Souls games and Soulslike and refuses to play anything else unless it sounds edgy and not Japanese.
>mfw he doesn't realize that Dark Souls is made by Japanese people
Same but it's with League of Legends lore and Dark Souls lore
>that first guy
is me. I don't feel the fatigue while I'm playing games, but once I get off the PC, I start realizing how tired I am.
>That awkward, quiet guy that pulls a mood swing and becomes a tryhard aloof wannabe chad when a girl joins
At least it disrupts the usual boring everyday voice call circlejerk and throws it into something entertaining.
>Dark souls lore
At least it could be wors-
>League of legends lore
My condolences user
>that faggot who psychoanalyzes all his friends who he hates but it's okay because they all secretly hate him 10x as much
Me on the left
>That autist who doesn't understand that it's just a game
Ragers are the worst. I had an IRL friend who was like that. And it's one thing to get angry during competitive matches, but he even lost his cool when we were stuck on a puzzle in Portal 2
God I hate internet armchair psychology fucks who use the mean big words to try and sound smart, why do so many people do this fucking shit.
>become "enlightened" or just be 19

fuck you
>have social anxiety and hate talking to people

>that guy who makes it super obvious that he's on social terms with the woman in the group
>the obnoxious cunt with some form of identity politics in their tag, who gets asked last how they came up with their tag if they don't cut someone off to tell everyone about theirs before that
>*bong bubbling over mic*
>high-level shitter who has ground out them levels through sheer determination and zero skills
>the guy whose only insults are about being a fag
The worst though
>that guy who you get into a game, but they won't learn the actual mechanics, won't do any research on how to improve, won't take advice on board, and are generally just shit and unwilling to improve
Literally - LITERALLY just watch a few YouTube videos on the game while you have breakfast so you know what to do, how to do it, and what you're doing wrong.
Your post reminded me of this one:
>that guy at the friendly / social gaming place / warm-ups and banter that wants to play people who haven't played their game before
>"Can you give me a rundown of the characters?" "No."
>"You can't check the movelist" (even pre-fight)
>"This button uses your special ability" *press it, he counters and punishes hard*
>gets up and shakes your hand after the match as if he's humiliated you and wants you to walk of shame out of the premises
>literally does the walk of shame himself when you beat him in the second try, leaves the place entirely
The one I'm thinking of was at a gamer bar but I've had similar stuff happen at Smash comps too, specifically the character rundown stuff. Is it too hard to say "Sheik is fast and beginner friendly if that's what you want"? I'm gonna get wiped anyway, I've been honest about it and we're supposed to be socialising before the actual comp.

Basically they just assume a lot of things about the person and then try to compare them to whatever mental illness they googled, or what they learned in a book in class. It somehow makes them think that they're smart or something.
>Awesome game bro!!
>We’ll play halo 3 again all day tommorow as it’s the school holidays!!

That's me.

>that fat girl who only ever plays MMOs and tries to act like an anime character in real life
Fuck you and your constant order barking, although most of the time it's orders to do things in the coolest or funnest ways possible
Sometimes I miss the unbridled autism of early 2000s shooter multiplayer, simpler times.
>even superman is balding
>that guy who is actually pretty chill in real life but unironically likes edgy shit and all his characters look like something made by a 13yo edgelord who watched too many anime AMVs
>mfw thats me
If anyone asks why I use red and black, I say its because of the soccer team
I'm so sorry user, it sounds like you've been through a lot more of this bullshit. Also fuck Smash, it's not a real fighting but they carry themselves like they think it is and it's the one thing the nig nogs and honorary ghetto apes peacock around.
>Not being happy and taking pride in having introduced someone to something he gets joy out of
What a bitter faggot you are, christ.
>tfw friends think this is me because I don't like CoD and FIFA and flavour of the month titles like Anthem
>they won't play the battle royale I like though
>ignore that I praise a lot of normiecore stuff
>"hurr durr user won't play THAT he's TOO SMART to play open world trash!"
>goty so far is RDR2
>that one guy that starts blowing up your steam messages to rage at a mutual friend fucking up their game of League
>I have never played League
>I have no interest in League, or MOBAs, or barely any RTS games

>AND
>THEN
>DRAMATIC
>FUCKING
>SINGLE WORD MESSAGES
>and then back to lower case so you know they're calm again and it's the other guy who's the idiot
I'm usually guilty of the guide reading but it's only out of being extremely anxious and nervous of missing something super important or cool.
It's crazy how many people in the FG community are like that, people will set the bar as low as they need to to feed their ego these days.
It's probably just out of being left behind, no one likes a latefag
Or he could join me and have even more fun together in new things, instead of ignoring me for half a year.
>That entire bottom half
STOP
>ME ME ME ME ME
Fuck off nigger.
I take full advantage of my friends mislabeling me as hating all popular stuff by saying any new game they buy is trash and they should've spent their money on some random old ass game instead. It's always funny how upset and defensive they get.
>ITT friends who aren't really friends
I'm just letting off steam. Not everyone is going to be the perfect friend
The modern definition of the word has become very loose so people are able to placate the delusion that they have them. Most people have absolutely no friends, especially normies.
>in VC with friend
>have good time, constant bants and jokes
>friends of friend join
>they have fun
>say literally nothing anymore unless the ask me something
I have a friend exactly like this, explain your thought process so I can better understand him
>The guy who admits he's worse than everybody else but refuses to accept advice and is convinced any attempts at helping him are people tricking him so he'll be worse off.
Not sure if bait but it's pretty true, it's hard to define what a true friend is, much less be one. What most people define as friend nowadays is a free pass to constantly call you out on your shit and try to set you straight on THEIR path, not yours if that makes any sense. They just want someone that they can just project onto when a real friend will be accepting of your choices and do their best to support you. However if your friend is doing something bad, then do you follow him or call him out? I just don't know what's right.
He probably already feels bad for being bad and is guilty of dragging everyone down with him so he just assumes that everyone around him is mad and pissed at him and trying to get at him so he retaliates. I used to be the same way when I just started to play games.
eh I don't know, I guess just have to get used to people first before I get comfortable. Maybe it's an anxiety thing
Yea Forums would hate the Smash community in my city. It's a total insider circle jerk, granted there are a few top tier players with global reps but you'd think that would humble the rest. I went with a friend to a few, and wasn't surprised at all that he wanted to bring some friends. Half of the regulars look down their nose at new faces, and some will stare you down and not speak to you. I only went about 4 times (once was at a bowling club though and they had the bar open, that was okay)
Most of my online experience has been relatively recent, besides the actual story at the end of my post all the other experiences are from Apex Legends random squads
Part of me thinks it's because they put so much time into getting any amount of good at the games technically, that they need to get as many wins as they can to justify that time spent for the skill increase they've managed to build. Especially at the Smash comps, the discussions there were about tiers, learning hitboxes, practising angles of ranged attacks and off-screen recovery techniques and all this stuff that sounded like an absolute shit time to learn. I'd wanna use it to show I'm better than some random too after all that no fun allowed time in my bedroom on my CRT TV.
>sink half a dozen beers and after that your friend's friends are inviting you to games and remember your first name
That shit drives me up the wall.
Some people can be incompetent
Too close to home? I get minutes of that shit, sometimes it's a whole night. I've recommended that my friend just stop playing the fucking game because he has mental health issues already and that shit seems like it sends him into a psychotic spiral. Fucking MOBAs.
Mine don't get mad, they just discredit opinions they don't want to hear. Its not even a fun conversation trying to talk about things I don't like, so usually I just roll with what they're saying or don't comment anymore.
Funny that you mention projecting because I think you're doing it. I've got a few friends who are constantly telling me not to compare myself to them (I'm not a failure, but I wasted some years so I'm behind them in terms of careers and relationships) and they always remind me to be a better me. I've seen the same people try to enforce their ideals, values and goals on others too, so I know that they actually like me as a person instead (because they try to change others to be more like them when they don't approve, but tell me not to), and always push me to do what I want as long as it's productive and constructive.
I am legitimately behind them though and it irks me a bit when they say that doesn't matter. They're going to be home-owners with a family way before me and that hurts just a lil bit.
>friend buys every new $60 title
>says it's "the best game ever", can't stop talking about
>drops it after two hours and never plays it again
>doesn't even have a problem with this
>steam backlog is worth thousands of dollars
Circlejerks are the worst, just the absolute worst. I don't care if the place is infested with traps and neckbeards and trannies and furries and if the place stunk to high hell, as long as an outsider like me is able to just sit down and have a few laughs with the regulars like I was one of them. Circlejerk means that everyone there is a fucking xenophobic NPC drone who are all carbon copies of each other who all parrot the same damn opinions.
I know a guy who is instinctively good at just about every videogame.
When we both started playing dark souls 3 we kinda had the same problems as me tho and I finally found something we were equal at.
Then he asked me how to use the undead bone shards.
The guy had played the game without upgrading estus.
Thanks for the advice user, it looks like you found what a true friend is.
>play with friend who introduces me to games he has 3 gorillion hours in
>BTFO them in nearly everything
>they tell me to play some MOBAs/RTS with them
>feel like a useless twat
reee
on a similar note is the new MK any good for pure multiplayer/1v1 gameplay?
>traps and neckbeards and trannies and furries and if the place stunk to high hell
Ah, so you've been to a Smash comp before too!
I feel like that might have been part of the tension, having some random guy walk in when you're a fringe identity probably would make you a bit defensive, but I couldn't even really tap into the other white cishet men there, even trying to activate their autism around tiers and advice and whatever else I could pick up through osmosis didn't work and I think that was because of the elitism
I remember that I met a guy that was in the same school as my best friend and we all played league together. He was ok at the game but he got angry really easily and one night he blamed me for fucking up his game and that it was my fault that he fed so swore he'd get revenge. I didn't pay too much attention to it I thought he just said that out of anger but later that week when I came to my best friend' school to bring him lunch the guy ambushed me. He tackled me and tried to strangle me. He was much taller and heavier than me but fortunately school staff were there to stop him and he got expelled. I wonder what has become of him.
>Beat older brother in a game
>He tries to beat me in real life
Oh god, that's way worse. I'd probably tell him that I don't want to hear it at some point. I wouldn't want to be the go-to for venting about stupid shit like video games.
My friend was just annoying to play games with, but never that bad.
