Looking for a game to really get emotionally invested in, mostly due to good writing and characters, which still has good gameplay. In essence, I want to have fun playing and also feel empty inside when it's over because I got so attached to the characters and story.
Positive examples would be games like Witcher 3, the Mass Effect Trilogy or (weirdly) Black Ops 2.
Negative examples would be games that feel shallow, like literally anything Ubisoft produces (e.g., AC), or games with good writing but weak/boring gameplay, like the Telltale games or many walking simulators.
PS: PC masterrace, so Last of us and Uncharted are unavailable
>Black Ops 2 >good How do I know this is a bait thread? Also W3 has shit gameplay.

Legend of Heroes Tales Of and my personal favorite no one talks about, War of the Human Tanks

The Witcher and The Witcher 2 for more like The Witcher 3. The Witcher 2 is the best out of the three but you need to play it several times to appreciate, though now that you've played TW3 already you might have ruined the experience for yourself.
Ghost of a Tale is one you should check out. VtMB if you haven't played it, might as well since the sequel is coming out next year.

Red Dead Redemption made me feel that way The second one too but not as much

I seriously liked it and replayed it 3 times. Best antagonist in a shooter story by a mile.
Played all witchers and VtMB of course, just wanted to keep the examples brief. Ghost of a Tale looks good, but isn't it focused more on (stealth) gameplay than good characters and story?
