THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF EPIC GAME STORE
Zachary Moore
Nicholas Harris
Ive never heard of this game
Ayden Sanchez
>satisfactory
>people not satisfied
Hudson Allen
stop shilling this stupid game
Xavier Barnes
A surprise to absolutely no one.
What the fuck were the devs actually thinking?
Andrew Garcia
>no name game
>literally who
>epic store
stop sharing this epic bullshit user we don't have to give them attention
Michael Murphy
think of it as a simplified version of factorio but in 3D and with multiplayer.
Cooper Bailey
>choose inferior service while virtue signalling all the way
>"why sales so low? how could this happen?!"
Hudson Hernandez
there is no way only 9 people bought satisfactory without refunding
Brayden Myers
>People are taking this seriously
Sebastian Morales
But Epic probably paid them to release game on their store so they are still on profit
Jason Hernandez
The fact that people are taking this post seriously says a lot about EGS's reputation
Brayden Ortiz
This.
They're only bitching about this because they want more money.
Lucas Reyes
anyone who thinks that tweet is serious needs to fucking neck themselves
Brayden Harris
I'm gonna assume they're but doesn't Epic pay these developers millions of dollars to be on their storefront? Why would they care if their shitty game isn't selling? They obviously weren't planning long-term anyways.
Elijah Kelly
>Why would they care if their shitty game isn't selling?
Because they want even more money?
Wyatt Edwards
Do you really think a game that winds up selling a single digit number of copies has gotten more than peanuts for their exclusivity?
Nathan Reed
Not the developers.
Kevin King
Given what we know about Epic's deals, yes actually. The reason why a lot of these smaller guys are taking Epic's deal is that part of the deal is guaranteed payout if you don't make as many sales as expected. Epic guarantees a dollar amount worth X number of copies. So if you are an indie bitch who's game is probably not going to sell more than 1000 copies anyway, its an incredible deal. It literally doesn't matter if they sold 9 copies or thousands of copies. They are getting the same money either way.
Jeremiah Perry
damn...
Elijah Reed
There's no fucking way they only sold9, unless they gave a lot of free copies away.
I would've bought it if it was on steam desu.
Daniel Edwards
Yeah, Epic throws retarded amounts of money around. Even Phoenix Point, a kickstarted game, got multiple millions for the timed exclusivity. Also. the "community manager" (rainbow-colored hair, bisexual, he/him, bipolar, communicates in Kstew-gifs) of the game's dev-team is ebin trolling, the game did not sell THAT bad. You can be sure that it would have sold a hell of a lot better on Steam though.
Henry Butler
I know at least 3 people who bought it. Pretty sure they are memeing. Or at least trying to.
Juan Wood
>portmanteau of "satisfy" and "factory"
>also means "it's just ok"
what did they mean by this
Dominic Evans
>STATE OF EPIC GAME STORE
more like the absolute state of literal men children and 'gamers'
Alexander Ortiz
that's absolute bullshit what about all the youtubers and streamers playing the game
Asher Lee
of course more than 9 people bought it you dumb, gullible fuck.
the point of that tweet was that their sales numbers are low and more people decided to pirate the game instead.
Elijah Thomas
Literally this.
Doesn't Epic compensate developers for estimated lost sales from not being on Steam?
I'm sure they're making a profit here regardless.
Gabriel Mitchell
reminder that "jace" is also the person in charge of the satisfactory twitter account
Nicholas Rodriguez
but factorio has multiplayer
Ian Lopez
>They didn't just sell 9 copies
>NO THEY DIDN'T YOU DUMB FUCK! REEEEE
Imagine calling someone dumb when you can't even read.
Hudson Martin
It throws a wrench into "Steam has too many games which means MY games can't sell due to lack of visibility". That's not really true. Sure, good games can get shafted because of market saturation if they're just re-packaging the same idea, but good games will also generally find their audience.
Aaron Johnson
at least not all of you /biz/ tier gullible
Julian Sanders
Probably the devs themselves.
Eli Hall
Cease your pathetic publicity stunt.
David Murphy
Yeah, 900 I can buy (but I wouldn't), but 9 ? That's ridiculous
Jack Hughes
Yeah. You can't put a price on customers' trust and goodwill, after all.
Liam Thompson
I feel like key is sales expectations and good public relations.
Austin Martin
Imagine trying to ride this shitty joke so hard even at the cost of looking like retards to people without context.
Mason Lopez
Unironically wanted to buy Satisfactory. Couldn't find it on Steam, did a quick goigle and found its an epic store exclusive.
Bought settlers 3 instead.
Jeremiah Reed
These are literally no name devs. Customer trust and goodwill only matters if you plan to make any games beyond your first. These people no original ideas. Their only game is just factorio but 3D and with less features.
Sebastian Taylor
Just get Factorio. Its better in every way except graphics, which I assume doesn't matter to you if you are playing settlers 3.
Aiden Baker
CRPGs generally seem to have a decent built audience to draw from.
Andrew Roberts
>more than 9 people streaming it on steam
>more than 9 people have lp on youtube
>epic store does not allow refunds
Logan Perez
Yeah but they gave a shitload of free copies to streamers thinking it'd be good advertising without realizing that their audience wont buy the fucking things too, anyone that stupid deserves to fail.
Angel Brooks
They actually does allow refunds now.
William Flores
Epic paid them a ton for exclusivity BECAUSE most people would pirate the game for being exclusive. They've literally already been compensated for my lost sale, so I have no qualms with raising the flag.
Gavin Evans
The game's twitter is bitching about how their game was pirated to fuck or something, so I guess it did sell like shit, maybe not 9 units because that's ridiculouss, but it probably didn't meet any expectations.
On the bright side, Epic paid their sell out asses to be there, so it's not like they're on the red or something, they're just pissed that they aren't making even more money like Epic promissed they would if they sold it on their store, and people decided to pirate their game instead.
Although I'll agree with what they said that if you don't want to buy the game because of the Epic store then just don't play it at all, even pirated. Which is something I do when a game that I want is full of bullshit behind.
Grayson Anderson
I honestly can´t blame devs for making the deal with the devil. Most of the games that got exclusivity deals are game that most people would only buy at at least 50% off or wait for them to be included in a Bundle. And the insane amount of money Epic throws at you will keep you afloat even if you sell 0 copies. The Phoenix Point guys can suck a fat one though, absolutely and completly disgusting behaviour.
Luke Cooper
Their refund system is similar to steam's now, just a lot less convenient.
It used to be literally criminal back when they wanted everything but your social security number to get a refund.
Connor Hughes
The joke is someone said they would sell less than 10 copies on EGS.
Since they are mature and woke devs, they can't let a single thing go unaddressed. If you aren't snarking, you are not living.
If you want some real cringe go look at the statisfactory FAQ on the game's website.
Mason Hernandez
>The Phoenix Point guys can suck a fat one though, absolutely and completly disgusting behaviour.
The Satisfactory devs aren't any better. Before launch and the exclusivity deal was announced they were still showing complete contempt for what few fans they had.
Its not completely on the same level as the Phoenix Point devs, who practically told all their backers to suck a fat dick, but it was still pretty bad.
My best friend LOVES these kinds of games. He hates Epic, but he made an exception for Satisfactory. He is absolutely addicted to games like it. Their behavior was almost enough to break him of that addiction. I can't emphasize enough just how much of a dick you have to be to get that guy to not want to buy your game if its a building and management game.
Brody Gutierrez
>The Phoenix Point guys can suck a fat one though
I've never had something I was looking forward to go from "Day 1 buy" to "I'll throw on an LP of it as background noise while I play something else" faster than this.
Christian Allen
they got like 10k
Leo Russell
Stop giving them free advertising. Everyone knows to pirate EGS games now. And who cares if the CEO doesn't get his 30 million dollar bonus this year.
Liam Baker
Christian Bennett
Carter Ward
remember when mike murderbeck threatened to kill gabe and valve kicked paranautical activity out of steam?
they tried to sell it on desura and only sold 12 copies.
Carson Morris
Wow, that game looks more boring that Numale's Lie.

It looks kinda fun. I like building and automation aspect in games. I wonder if I will get a discount if I am their 10 buyer? Round numbers and all
Logan Reyes
>Fuck over consumers
>Cry when they refuse to support you
Typical greedy devs
Jason Nguyen
>My mom won't buy more games
>mfw
Kid's an asshole though, if the game is easily accessible, but you don't have the means to buy it at the, then just don't play it until you can buy it.
I only condone piracy when the game is absolutely unaccessible in any other way that can support the devs. Before Microsoft announced the Halo MCC, the only way to get Halo 1 and 2 nowadays was through piracy

I think they are memeing. Meaning they sold a ton. Their reddit, youtube and twitch says well mire than 9 copies.
Jayden Gutierrez
>sell shit on only one platform that has questionable reputation
>be surprised nobody buys your game
woah
Carson Scott
I don't think anyone is really stupid enough to believe they only sold 9 copies.
Lucas Russell
lol this is funny
probably posts amongst you faggots
he fits right in with the rest of the weebs

Remember when people werent retarted and took everything on the internet as truth?
Jordan Ward
It says more about how fuckin dumb most of Yea Forums is.
Kevin Long
What, you don't enjoy awkwardly building ramps through terrain to pick some bullshit out of a tree?
Dylan Davis
You mean before the internet was a thing?
Oliver Cooper
90 percent if this thread thinks its the end of fortnite.
The fact they are memeing probably means they had a good week.
Never heard if game. As an automation engineer I approve. I may check it out but generally pick games that dont make me think about work.
Caleb Powell
Honestly, XSEED prices the Senran games fairly high and they rarely go on sale. And when they do, the savings are kinda shit.
It´s a mixture of both I guess.
Brayden Jenkins
>Steam revenue share already down from 30% to 10%
>EPIC STORE BAD
Julian Smith
I don't think it was ever like that.
Xavier Gonzalez
see Remember when corporate brands weren't pretending to be people on social media?
Levi Richardson
>and they rarely go on sale
lies
Xavier Gomez
This shit right here. And yet the cunts are still complaining on twitter about people pirating their fucking game and saying '
Joseph Martinez
Is Halo ce not being sold anymore?
Noah Taylor
what if they meant 9 copies sold on that day?
Owen Evans
>it took 30 people 3 years to make this game
Pretty 30 people are able to build an entire city in three years.
Robert Lee
That's rich after Timmy already paid them for their losses from pirated copies.
Ayden Allen
Compared to a lot of other games? Absolutely. I only remember them being on sale during the XSEED publisher sale and the big main Steam sales...and most of them were only 30% off
William Murphy
It's literally on the devs twitter. He then proceeded to go on a rant about of gamers are entitled babies and are pirating his game because it's not on steam. He's a fucking idiot and deserves all of this.
Jaxon Green
begging for attention
his retarded journalist discord friends already have articles typed up to generate some extra publicity for the game
Jayden Stewart
I was rooting for them but they do seem like literally snarky bug men the company.

There is no obvious irony or sarcasm in this post, and its about a game nobody knows about. How is anyone supposed to know the dev is just pretending like thats the case?
Nicholas Phillips
You can only find used copies afaik.
Lucas White

Luke Cook
If they said real number, steamtards would not make a new thread every hour and shill their game for them. No to mention that they don't even care about sales number that much, they have a guaranteed revenue by epic.
Cameron Howard
>free marketing
twitter was a mistake
