What game would you consider a genuine 10/10 masterpiece?

Tetris.
TLOU is close. Too bad the second one is going to beat you over the head with liberal dogma. I was going to buy it.

Majora's Mask!
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island
Super Motherfucking Metroid.
First post based post
>JOEL BAD XDDDD
What was the point of trying to make Joel seem flawed, but somewhat good as a person if they're just going to toss it all out in the sequel?
>Gaming's Citizen Kane moment
why
halo trilogy
Joel hasn't even fully shown up in the sequel yet.
Sega gt on dreamcast.. best racing game I've ever played. There was a racing game that had like pod racers but the races were on different planets. I believe it was on Sega Saturn but I cant find the name
Silent Hill 2
>tfw you feel too dumb to properly determine what can be counted as a masterpiece
Imma just say Roller Coaster Tycoon. 1 or 2 but I prefer 1 more
This
Castlevania
heres the obvious answer: chrono trigger
Nvm that was whipe out.. but metal gear solid ts. Probably the best game I've ever played.. maybe its nostalgia but the story was sweet. Killing sniper wolf hit me in the feels when I was a wee lad
All of these, don't care if people disagree. They are all 10/10s for me
Chrono Trigger is overrated.
...
I just don't get this game. I tried it several times and just got bored. It offers nothing new, just the same 3rd person action we've seen many times before and executed much better. Also the story is just a walking dead rip-off.
I just want to say that Chrono Trigger and Ocarina of Time are really fucking overrated, I don't see the hype revolving them. Guess you needed to "be there" to like the games.
What's the game on the bottom right?
Dark Souls Trilogy
Bloodborne
Sekiro
Recognize all of them except the one above Chrono Trigger & the Girl in between John Marston & Skull Kid
They are objectively two of the 15 best games ever made, whether or not they are the GOAT is up to personal preference
>Fatal Frame 2
based
Medieval 3 can't come soon enough.
The Train Scene in Uncharted 2 was fucking perfect, it just sucks the ending was terrible though.
I don't know man, I just feel people like them cause of nostalgia. I didn't played them when I was young.
I didn't play any of those games in that picture growing up except the N64 ones, so nostalgia has nothing to do with it
Uncharted 2
Infamous SS
Super Paper Mario
get help
Whoops, you seem to be lost
Be honest Yea Forums, did you hate it before learning of Cuckman's inclinations?
BotW. It's seriously the only open world game that's GOAT. Every other open world game I've played are just boring in comparison
Yes, but i didn't hate it after i watched the movie version instead of forcing myself to finish the game
cringe and platitudepilled
He's dead, Jim. The time of the old wh*te male has passed. It's time for the queens to slaaayyy
it pisses me off that they used citizen kane when in reality, it's a reverse citizen kane. when CK first released, critics panned it and said it wasn't any good, only for it to years later be recognized as being the innovative game changer it was. TLOU was just universally dick-sucked upon release and now years later everyone has forgotten about it because it was a very forgettable, albeit admittedly decent, game.
Unironically the multiplayer in TLOU
but joel was the only right one in the game. the fireflies were a bunch of fucking hacks just like shitty raider groups, and ellie was going to die in vain because there were others like her who just died for nothing. if anything, tommy's -- or whatever his name was -- settlement at the end of the game was the best possible outcome. hell, even that small township or whatever where that guy tried to rape ellie was a better place to stay than the fireflies
the dark souls trilogy, but only if rated as a whole.
from what i've seen bloodborne seems like a 10/10 game on it's own, it looks like they refined all the finer details that didn't work for the best in dark souls but i can't say for sure because i don't own a ps4
this, and resident evil 4
>Chrono Cross
my brotha, my nigga, my kang
Resident Evil 2 and Syphon Filter 2
so this is the game that killed gaming
I swear you people base this off memory and nostalgia.
I bought a ps4 slim this year and got TLOU with it and it’s shoddy as fuck.
The draw distance is so bad it completely ruins the immersion.
And what’s with that weird crouch walk lol
I’ll add mine is worse than is, shit will literally pop in right in front of you, even NPCs.
At the very start of the game an NPC gets stuck running into a chain mail fence right after the car scene. It’s pretty bad, not sure if the original was this bad but the remastered is just plain bullshit.
Because now every "journo" ie glorified game blogger who actually likes this trash because they've secretly had shit taste all their life feels good writing about it and every other movie they play and it's no longer about games but whatever controversy-bait contents are contained within the (movie)game's story/plot and characters. Why actually take the time to scout for interesting games other journos aren't writing about when you can just follow the herd of game critics and play almost exclusively AAA cinematic experiences in order to comment on how they relate to society and its ills. Social media has transformed the world such that this is now unironically the mature thing for a game journo to do, and leave all those actually interactive, real video games behind, after all play is for children and game blogging is serious business.
Ace Combat 04
Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Devil May Cry 3
Deus Ex
Quake 3
Metal Slug (series)
Ikaruga
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
FEAR
Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Budokai 3
Freespace 2
Freelancer
Uplink: Hacker Elite
Butcher
Diablo 2
Only missing:
RE4
FFX
Resident Evil 4 would be a perfect game if it wasn't called Resident Evil. It is a flawless execution of a heap of features that have no place in that franchise. So if one wants to be charitable then instead of calling it a horrible RE game, one can call it a great game with the only flaw being the title.
super hot unique take
Dishonored is a 10/10 in my book. Its just cash money as fuck.
>slick feeling as you play
>interesting powers that can be mixed and matched
>pure stealth options
>great world building
>good soundtrack
>interesting characters
>fun stealth
>fun action
>wealth of choices
>you can be a complete ass if you want
>or a complete god
unironically Portal
Medieval II Total War
MGSV the Phantom Pain (again, unironically)
Just Cause 2
Witcher 3, I know, edge lords and 56ers won't agree, but it hit on something deep inside the European Spritus Mundi, the Collective Unconscious, since it portrayed the way Euros hav been living for thousands of years. Obviously sans the magic and monsters, but for most of out history people believed those things were very real, so just an extension of that. Once you get deeply into that game, nothing else comes close.
South Park Stick of Truth
Are you European?
Final Fantasy 13-2
what? it gets remembered for its groundbreaking cinematography, and TLOU is a shitty movie game. It's an apt comparison.
Why did they betray us?
I thought the employees there said Persona 5 was in their system for the Switch.
Why would they lie? Something's fishy...I don't think the possibility for P5 coming to switch is out of the question yet. My bet is the next Nintendo direct.
The abortion of an action combat system made me drop it. 2 as well, only finished the first one. I played like 7 hours of 3 and never figured out what the buttons do. You just press any and go off spinning like a fucking beyblade in a random direction, doing an anywhere from 1 foot to 100 meter-long pirouette, all with the same button. I don't know if they wanted to make it playable with one button or what, but it doesn't work out very good. Makes fucking Risen look like a masterpiece in terms of combat, in that the buttons actually have some form of discernible effect and doesn't just randomly do fucking anything.
Wipeout?
I love that game, no idea why I can't enjoy the 2nd one nearly as much. Haven't even finished it yet
The Last of Us is such a shitty boring unimaginative slog of a shooter with no depth. Literally all you do is pick up planks or ladders and walk and talk to your next destination. Fucking boring "le cinematic experience" game.
Really worried about this
