The Robotnik theme in US game me nightmares as a child but I still have a deep fondness for the rest of the soundtrack.
The JPN OST I heard later in life is just funky fresh throughout.
I think I agree with because the US OST just triggers so much anxiety.

Certain JP themes are better, certain US themes are better, it all depends on which you like. I personally like all the JP Stardust Speedway more, though the US Bad Future is still good
Now if only someone would do a mashup with them both.
