Fair, but it's funny how fujos latched onto the series and then it started catering more to them.
There was a perfect storm of the anime and 3rd game releasing, after that, it seems to have fallen out of favor.
For English Samurai Heroes would be the best. If you don't mind pure moon speak 4 Sumeragi on PS4 is the best. I can't speak on Yukimura-den but I haven't heard good things.

You can import the latest one if you don't mind nip menus and such.
If you want to play in English you're pretty limited. You basically only have two choices. Devil Kings which is the first SB but changed overseas. And Samurai Heroes which is technically the third game.

Did that game kill the series? It looked like a low budget spin-off with two more characters (four if we count the kids) and I'm not sure it even had DLC.

Currently trying out Sengoku Basara 3 on the Wii emulator.
Is there no lock on in this game? I want to focus on one of the general/elite/whatever they're called but I can't lock onto him.
Any beginners tips on what I'm supposed to do in these games? I never played musou games before. I heard that the SB series has the best combat system so I picked that first.

I've dumped a hundred hours minimum in 4 looking up translations for certain menus. There's a lot of materials, but with raindropsanddaydreams.co.uk
The main thing I miss out on are the character interactions really, but even some of those have translations if you hunt them down.
