What the fuck did he mean by this?
morrowind more like morrowshit LMAO
iunno brainlet
>Elder scrolls legends
please don't remind me
I only played Oblivion. Skyrim seems meh but Morrowind always intrigued me. Are there any mods I should install or should I play vanilla? Any other tips in general?
he's calling you a thrill seeker
WHAT A GRAND AND INTOXICATING INNOCENCE
youtube.com
Use OpenMW for increased stability. Look into that. Also maybe a levelling rebalance mod because vanilla morrowind levelling sucks.
OpenMW, you can find beginner mod lists most everywhere.
you shouldn't do mods besides widescreen patches or something but i think vanilla morrowind works well with widescreen
i think openMW is good but i honestly have no fucking clue what it does
>tips
dont fight with no stamina otherwise you'll miss 100% of the time like webm related
furfag races cant use boots or helmets
Oh fuck me is the leveling as brain dead retarded as it is in Oblivion?
cry more lorelet
morrowind is long overdue for new art
It's the exact same.
there are a couple helmets and hats khajiit and argonians can equip.
check out this ebony staff I made, on strike, the magicka weakness is on target, the rest is on touch.
One hit did 599 damage, and the way the effects are set up makes the frost weakness permanent, so each effect will hit harder than the last.
each hit will hit harder than the last, I mean
Nice name
Thread theme
My man morrowind is pinnacle. Play OpenMW and just go through the game without looking online etc. Otherwise you will just get the OP stuff early and stomp.
carlos is that you?
Beats potion chugging I guess.
I always thought it was weird ebony staves enchant better than daedric ones
I'll never understand why they didn't do a traditional leveling system where killing enemies/completing quests gives you exp which then allows you to manually allocate points to whatever skills you want. Instead it's "oh you want to increase your str? Be sure to swing your weapon at mudcrabs for 40 minutes like a retard with cerebral palsy"
Nords in Morrowind are so beyond based
>"YOU SHOULD PICKED AN EASIER OPPONENT."
Does the weakness to magicka actually increase the frost damage taken? I thought that was only for spells that weren't specifically elements.
The Ordinator mod for Skyrim is easily the best leveling system seen in any modern TES game, and proves that a perk system can maintain the traditional stat system but offer new things, Morrowind's ass backwards leveling system is one of my biggest gripes with it.
Oh it does but only because it increases the effectiveness of the weakness to frost, that's really neat.
It increases the weakness to frost magnitude. :^)
OpenMW is a open source re-implementation of the morrowind engine, it offers better stability, along with 64 bit support, honestly by todays standards there's really no reason NOT to use it, considering it's much more stable and surprisingly less buggy than vanilla-wind.
The magicka weakness makes you more vulnerable to weakness effects, so that 100% weakness to frost will be doubled, which then doubles the frost damage.
Unfortunately, the permanent frost weakness is only 100 instead of 200, though.
What'll it be, Muthsera?
OpenMW-fags just WISH they had permanent spell effects.
twelve thousand ash yam scoops
Why is there Heart of Lorkhan flavor and Ebony flavor? Ebony is Lorkhan's blood
I won't do any business until you get rid of that moon sugar. I don't want any trouble.
It's actually a little more forgiving considering there aren't a lot of enemies that scale based on your level, unlike oblivion.
>mfw bandits eventually spawn with daedric gear
thats a daedra heart u nugget
oh, well in that case
gimme two scoops of moon sugar my n'wah
Scrap metal sorbet and raw glass gelato for the

Until you do Tribunal and some hobos with Darts are more of a threat to the player than a reanimated wraith that has his fingertips on the very power of creation.
I don't know why this made me laugh so much
That's not what I was getting at. It was a legitimately good game for a while, but bethesda switched the devs because they thought they could get it done cheaper and now its dead
It doesn’t change how you level though
Those guys were nothing near the difficulty that hand of amalexia was.
>get hit even once with his sword.
>Get strength drained to the point where you can't even move.
>Restore
>get hit again.
I'd suggest just diving into it vanilla, and installing mods when you run into something about the game you want to change.
The patches are mandatory, though. Morrowind was insanely buggy when it was first published. Both the MPP patch and the Patch For Purists work, the difference is that the former makes some changes beyond fixing obvious bugs. If you're not using OpenMW, you also need the Morrowind Code Patch.
OpenMW is stable and has all the features from Bethesda's Morrowind, but it doesn't support all mods yet. The OpenMW wiki has a page that lists which mods work, if you're curious about a specific one.
what are some good mods? I've played vanilla for awhile.
What? I thought enchanting and spell making was done.
>strength drained
>restore
>drained again
How many charges do you lose per hit?
Are console commands and mods CHIM?
My enchanting skill was really high so only 1. If it's above 110 IIRC then all on-strike/on-use enchants use 1 point.
literally yes
>yfw the first time you fought a greater bonerwalker
Morrowind does have level scaling for randomly spawned creatures. The rats you see in wilderness turn into blighted rats, and at some point it starts randomly spawning daedra. It's just less noticeable, both because all the cave bandits are static, and because the game is easier. You don't ever have to worry about leveling, unless you did some terrible mistake when creating your character.
God? More like fraud, am I right?
Kinda like you gain immunity to fall damage somewhere slightly above 100 acrobatics?
Who's Dagoth Ur IRL?
This guy?
What grand and intoxicating innocence!
>tfw no restore strength or interventions
I fucking love spurdo so much
Yeah. I don't remember the number for Acrobatics. I think 135 or 165, somewhere in that area.
Here's some fun for acrobatics. Use potions or spells to fortify your fatigue insanely high. This fortifies your base fatigue, not max fatigue, so you can end up with something crazy like 99999/200 fatigue.
When it's that high, the fatigue ratio used in lots of calculations acts weird. With super high fatigue like that, you'll jump higher, and instead of taking fall damage, you will restore health, I think even making your base health exceed max health. A monstrous fatigue is like having high luck, and you'll do everything better.
We need to go back to the good times when we had all sorts of crazy spell effects and freedom to use them. They can break the game and that is fine, I accept it. If I want to seriously play the main story then I won't cast Command spells on important NPCs and throw them in lava (or at least, I'll save first). Just let me do what I want with what is available instead of slapping my hand away for the sake of the story.
QUICKLY PILOTS!!!! DRAW A GRAPPLE!!!!
I just remember playing normally without abusing alchemy or spells and eventually reaching the point where my equipment gave enough constant Acrobatics for me to not give a fuck about falling
FUCK THIS ISN'T TFG FUCKING GOD SAMN IT
nice job nerd
SOMEONE PLEASE PORT OPENMW TO N3DS OR VITA ALREADY
I WANT TO REPLAY THIS SHIT SO BADLY BUT I KEKED MY LIFE BY GOING TO MED SCHOOL AND I'M DOING 80 HOUR WEEKS. I CANT BEAR TO STARE AT A SCREEN OR TOUCH A KEYBOARD
It's not dead, but the playerbase is certainly small.
Just cast levitate.
There are a crapload of mods that OpenMW can't support.
I really wish they'd go ahead and implement advanced Scripting support, but at the current pace it's going to take years.
holy shit user that's depressing
why med
why not engineering
it's such a comfy profession
I feel so sorry for you
I hope the money's worth it for you
>tfw they will never remaster morrowind
why live
Morrowind? Shit? What a fool you are. How could you be so naive?
>First time playing Morrowind as a wee lad
>Get Corprus, high tail it to Tel Fyr to get cured because all the dialogue tells me I'll die if I don't
>Friend at school tells me that's bullshit, there is no endgame state from having Corprus too long and you keep all the buffs from it after you're cured
>Realise every day I have Corprus my STR and END get buffed, and they govern most of my skills
>Wait in front of Divayth Fyr for the better half of a year in game before getting cured
>250 STR, 250 END, monstrous amounts of Health and Fatigue, weapons do three times damage
>"I'm a fucking genius"
>Run into one of these fuckers in a dungeon
>Dread curse fucks me up
>"Oh shit, at least I have Almsivi Restoration"
>Only restores my stats to 100, retard Corprus buffs are forever lost
>Crack the shits and quit without saving, lose close to two hours of game time because I was so foolhardy and didn't save while rampaging
I was basically invincible in that play through but that experience definitely put me down a peg. It's funny to think that none of the end game bosses were able to put scratches on me like single trash mob did.
>I hope the money's worth it for you
haha imagine doing a 6 year residency to become le surgeon
lmao imagine being a 27 year old virgin with no time and negative 400k to your name
imagine making 40k a year which is barely enough for rent and NYC transportation kek
lol imagine having 4 years left of this
fuck
at least I have chie
A true man of medicine does it for the people.
Dude you ever walk into a hospital?
Been wanting to have a go at it again.
Should I go straight for the Megamod, or go vanilla ?
Also what build
NOT based
I see helpless people waiting for a hero.
I've had this game since 2001 and I've never finished it once. Once I max my main skill and stat I just get super bored.
Has anyone made or is anyone making any big mods with OpenMW besides TES3MP? I can't wait to see people make big changes, like Dark Souls style combat or some shit, just to spice up a playthrough.
We already have fans remastering it in open source. Why would we need Beth to do anything?
>Morrowind vs Oblivion leveling
It's "the same" in absolute terms, but it isn't anywhere near as retarded within the context of the game. Oblivion's leveling was bad because all enemies and loot scaled with the player's level in a really dumb way, meaning that if you found items too early, you got shitter versions of them, and if you didn't minmax, enemies always outscaled you. In Morrowind, level scaling is much more limited. Only low level generic items and generic enemies are scaled, and it only affects how likely they are to spawn, not their actual power. At higher level, you are more likely to find higher level enemies, but the strength of specific enemy types are restricted to a fixed range. You never have the problem of "rare" loot dropping everywhere at high level, or mudcrabs with millions of health that oneshot you because you didn't minmax, or all the areas feeling "the same" and exploration being pointless because of the world bending to your level rather than having an identity of it's own.
The interplay between leveling and procedural generation was the biggest downgrade from Morrowind to (unmodded) Oblivion imo.
>It's "the same" in absolute terms
It's not though, only one enemy in Morrowind has its stats leveled to your level, though the random enemy scaling is the same system.
It also helps that Morrowind weapon damage did shit like 1-80 damage per swing, whereas Oblivion your top weapon damage is like 12.
playing Enderal I really like that. In all the TES games it feels like enemies more or less stop past a certain level. In Morrowind once you hit 20 you'd outlevel most everything in Vvardenfell.
When I play vanilla Morrowind, it's always 100% stable and I suffer no bugs. Am I just lucky? Maybe it's because my PC is super outdated?
It's because you're playing vanilla.
I see idiots that let small issues snowball into life-crippling medical debt.
No excuse when you have a medical library that's easily searchable in layman's terms in your pocket.
Fucking women and their cunts especially.
Wanna know why I'm a virgin still?
>3rd year of med school
>OBGYN clinicals

>I gag despite having a strong stomach
>almost throw up for the first time since middle school
>hold it in
>It's a morbidly obese white bitch
>T2DM
>35 BMI
>she has a gown on and is already spreading her legs
>Take her history somehow while holding my breath
>says she has a yeast infection but fluconazole isn't working
>take a look
>almost gag again
>the worst fucking blue waffle I've ever seen, worse than anything on google images or pathophys books
>I need to take a swab for cultures
>While I'm doing it she clenches and white puss/mucus fucking oozes out
>stench gets about 3x worse
>finish and send shit to microbiology as fast as I fucking can
>get the fuck out of there
>scrub my hands raw for 5 minutes
>the bitch had a multi strain fungal infection AND necrosis secondary to T2DM microvascular blockage
I've never looked at females the same since.
Haven't even watched porn since, I just can't look at a cunt without seeing it.
I meant "the same" in the sense of
>Level major skills
>Stat bonuses based of number of skills leveled
>etc
since I wasn't sure whether he was asking about "leveling" as in the the mechanics of how the player gains levels (there are issues with this too, just not as big as the other kind), or "leveling" as in how the world scales, although I should've maybe made it more clear.
45BMI*
She was like 5'5 and around 350lbs I think.
Which is why I mentioned it was better than oblivions bandits spawning with full daedric gear.
You did good son.
Doc user, sometimes I can wipe like a million times and I still got shit on the paper to the point where I just end up taking a shower and fingering my ass to clean it out. Whats wrong with me?
Which mods? OpenMW supports 90% Of all the mods available. The ones that require ESP's at least. I haven't run into a single issue when it came to that.
Now if we're talking about the graphics extender...that's a different story...but why would you want to anyway? It's obsolete when you factor in the fact that it's pretty included with the engine anyway.
>Whats wrong with me?
Your shitty fucking diet
eat less fat and excersize so your bowels can start actually working again
Thanks doc.
Hey doc how many people's dicks have you treated
>excersize
>size
heh
It doesn't work with Great House Dagoth, the most important mod of all time
haven't seen a single dick since graduation because I'm surgery, but I've treated about 30 gay gonorrhea dicks and 1 e.coli up the dick.
It wasn't my patient but I've seen someone with chlamydia up the ass.
>w-what do you mean I shouldn't stick my cock in an anus raw?!?!
NYC is a nice and wholesome place to live. So glad I was born and raised here and decided to stay.
Godspeed doc, the world needs more people like you
OH the e.coli case was a faggy gay black dude with like 10 or 11 inch dick.
He reached so far into the other guys asshole he got the faggots fucking colonic bacteria up his urethra.
Still cracks me up, urology must be a fucking hoot
>safely escorted him to the heart chamber
Just the walk there alone must have been a challenge, let alone all the monsters
Nice
fucking kek.
You're an immensely capable human being to be able to do that. I hope it works out.
Don´t listen to OpenMW fags. Just install the original Morrowind Complete edition (Tribunal + Bloodmoon) and MSGO (Morrowind Sound and Graphics overhaul), You can also install Rebirth and Tamriel Rebuilt.
>MSGO
Several years out of date and STILL has the issue with missing meshes. Also will always run like ass simply because Morrowind's engine is shit.
>mgso
Thanks for proving you're fucking retarded.
Impressive
I tried doing that and installing MSGO but my game kept crashing
My computer is average and it´s run perfect.
Did OpenMW support Rebirth mod?
>implying the last picture isn't right
Rebirth works with OpenMW
I followed this tutorial, and the game works perfect even with Rebirth and Tamriel rebuilt. and many other mods.
You're missing the point dumbass. MGSO has lots of outdated components, and many other mods have come out since its release that can be used as well.
wiki.nexusmods.com
Laughed like 5 minutes straight at your post
Doesn't MGSO also break some containers in Tribunal, so that they won't give you the Dwemer Satchel Packs (which are essential for completing the expansion's main quest)?
How does this guide compare to STEP? That's the only other one that I know of, and I'm getting a morrowind itch
If I could be a fly on a wall in one of your break rooms.
They also screw up Sotha Sil Expanded
Are there any newer gameplay or quest mods that have come out?
Tons.
any that particularly stand out?
What version are you playing? I had the Steam version for a while and it crashed like crazy, then I downloaded the GOG one and it's literally never crashed.
What the FUCK was his problem?
You
Fuck a tranny and do psychotherapy.
This one is mainly made for graphics, but it provides in detail stuff with each one and any special things to exclude when installing considering it assumes you're going with it all. Used the guide with MO2 and it works like a charm.
Just check Darkelfguy's recent videos on them.
I'VE BEEN
IN THE KITCHEN
SAUCIN'
SAUCIN'
"dont use mods"
>kills you in your sleep at level 1
>heh, nothing personal kid
they can wear open-face helmets, but the only helmet worth using is the gondolier's hat anyway so why even bother with full helms.
>cliff racers
what the fuck is the ash yam slop supposed to be irl?
Just the game's way checking to make sure you made a good character.
Go to sleep, wake up and suddenly die? Reroll dumb newbie!
Survive? Free shit good job!
Doubt it
I have over 100 hours and the game works perfect.
>tfw doing ANY escort mission in the game and having to watch AI struggle to run up a gentle hill
>side-quest escort mission takes up to an hour if you didn't just console command the AI's speed to 300
>reward is usually some paltry amount of gold
>outlanders
free loot pinjatas that break game economy
It's funny that the most efficient way to escort an NPC somewhere, is to punch them a few times so they start chasing you. The pursuit AI seems to be smarter than the follow AI. You might have to leave the cell and rest for a few days once you reach the quest destination, so that the follower will calm down, but that just takes a few seconds.
I fucking fought that bosmer cunt in full ebony gear early on when I was shit and had to wait like 5 or 6 in game months before I could kill him because my nord character started to realize magic is epic and based so I just damaged the little shits luck to the point I could actually hit him. I actually didn't kill him before completing the DLC and when I left the temple and was frozen in place by that ghost bitch he started wacking me to death. I had to pause the game and just let the dialogue go on before unpausing and just running away from the shit.
Nerevarine, my arch nemesis.
LMAO
It was just a bug, they were supposed to start attacking you at level 8.
He was lookout for the guys looting the nearby Arkngthand. He thought he could take you.
>works on my machine
How do I into Enchanting and Alchemy? I really don't want to leave everything to chance when I'm using items that are 30k+ gold.
Savescum or train first.
Alternatively make a spell/enchantment that fortifies enchanting/alchemy or its governing stat by 100% for 1 second, then cast that and open the menu within a second
>just go through the game without looking online etc.
look up where the fucking cube is, you'll know the one.
Otherwise you'll be combing a fucking brown ruin for a brown cube for over an hour.
it's literally on a bookshelf
I found the fucking cube when I was like 11
>ywn be dropped into morrowind in real life
WAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHHH!!!!!
AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!
I fucking love this webm
What an awesome place name, Arkngthand. Always thought that was one of the coolest place names in any video game. I liked "Cells of Hollow Hand" too. Felt so cool finding it and exploring all those years ago, at 2 am at my friend's farmhouse after a night of Halo over LAN when everyone else but my friend and I were asleep.
get a bidet
don't clench your ass until all the shit is out
>level 20ish
>no paralyze resist because im a dummy
>get stunlocked and slowly killed by two of these fucks
is he ok?
You know Vivec predicted all this
not that way
Planning on playing through mostly vanilla, but I would like some recommendations for a mod that fixes the levelling system. There are several out there. Which do you all like most?
>Which do you all like most?
Vanilla you zoomer pussy
>tfw never do any other playstyle than sneaky dickass klepto mage
what other fun magic builds are there? fuck redoran, and FUCK the fighters guild
>Don't listen to the people who are reasonable.
Have fun using an archaic, old, crashy version of the engine that doesn't have native widescreen support.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>MSGO
Have fun not having MGEXE or MWSE
Get the magicka recarge mod and play a 100% mage
>Being this retarded
>Have fun not having MGEXE
That's the point of OpenMW you inbred cuck, theres no need for MGEXE.
>Have fun not using MWSE
>Have fun not using a script extender that barely any mods use.
Hope do you gotta feel about the less generic npcs mods?
When it comes to modding guides, how do you all feel about the Mega Modding Manual 2.0? Is it still great or is it super outdated by now?
docs.google.com
I always use them. Sure, there is some strangeness in the earlier parts (were-guar), but I prefer that to nothing
Honestly the amount of detail put into Morrowind is astounding. If you found the right dev team to do it justice, you could revamp the whole game and make it a modern masterpiece. There's so much to work with that the next 3 Elderscrolls games were able to leech off its success.
