You get the damage from the fire shield anyway regardless of the unit living or dying, you absolute fucking moron. Not to mention ranged units can shoot anywhere and harpies always have limited range, even more so if you get your ass mass slowed

I'm currently playing homm3 with era 2 and add on mods. The rebalancing of various units and towns is very well done. Lizard warriors got a stat change and now fire twice, serpents and dragonflys are boosted so fortress is finally worth playing now. Rush for the mighty gorgon rape train and black dragons don't do shit anymore. Also the lvl 8 monsters are pretty ok

First Aid. If you have a Warlock then you are most likely using Dungeon units, which means you'll get Dragons eventually, and they are immune to all magic buffs. Having a first aid tent is the only way to heal them; and early game this alone allows you to minimize your losses. With expert first aid, the tent heals something like 200 pts of damage, meaning that enemies need to one hit kill your dragons.

Tomorrow Hota team will be doing a proper Factory reveal at a fest in Moscow. The early version of the faction will even be playable there, along with new version of Succession Wars.
For those who aren't keeping up with HoMM3 modding scene - Horn of the Abyss is a free mod made by a team of Russian devs on a completely non-profit basis, it adds a new faction called Cove (it's pirates lmao, can't say I'm it's biggest fan), rebalances the game, adds simultaneous turns to the multiplayer and it's pretty much generally accepted as the default version to play online, even HoMM3 tournaments run Hota. It also adds some new campaigns, so even if you are into single player only it has something for you.
Factory though is a much more interesting concept than Cove - it's loosely based on Forge town that was planned to be in HoMM3 initially, but was scrapped and replaced by Conflux due to negative reaction from HoMM fans who had no idea that M&M always had ties to sci-fi. With Factory the devs aimed to smooth the most jarring parts about the Forge and make it more steampunky and less garish sci-fi.
Actual release of the Forge faction is still at least a year away though. The dev's vk group states it as "no sooner than december 31st".

Why is Solymr associated with noobs?

He's associated with a very particular kind of noob - ones that try to rush capitol. Because he's a great hero to actually do that, he gets chain lightning by default, upgraded gremlins are very solid level 1s and it's likely that a new player upon seeing Tower with it's huge prices and fucked up teching structure would go "well shit I better rush the money building cause I'll need lots of dosh to pull through this". So he's stereotyped as this guy that goes for capitol rush while only having upgraded gremlins to his name and inevitably gets rushed by Crag Hack.
