If you're looking to spend some good 100-150 hours in an ARPG and you haven't played through diablo 3 yet, then diablo 3 is the best choice

Pretty much a extended tutorial
>20 to 40
you will start to get hang of your build but won't be able to do nothing since every really good skill or item ask for a higher level
>40 to 60
the bulk of the fun, your character will do some cool shit and you will make the better maps
>60 to 80
start of the stupid grind and min-max, you will probably stop around here since quickly you will run out of things to do besides play with the atlas a little and maybe enter the more exoteric places
>80 to 100
you need to like jrpgs to pass this point, every level is endless grind for pretty much no return, stop playing before you become someone like tl;dr it's fun if you don't start taking it seriously

It stops being an ARPG after you clear the main story and basically it turns into a haggling simulator for the endgame. You'll never see the things you want drop, you'll have to go to 3rd party auction sites where GGG spawns an infinite number of those rare uniques to put them onto a sort of chinese black market cryptocurrency exchange.

i wouldn't give this advice to even my most hated nemesis. only consider it if you're sure you have 3 other friends that will play with you. because only way to play in that game are the meta builds on pc with full group. consoles can't keep up with the speed. the way the progressing is so dull and boring it's not any fun without friends.

It's great but this league blows, wait for 3.7 to jump in.

Haven't had the chance to play more since before betrayal, but what's wrong with synthesis?

As others have said, you can do the main campaign (Acts 1-10) no problem but after that and the true end game begins, it becomes a slog of a grind and pay-to-win comes out in spades.

The core gameplay is a lot of fun, the various skills and builds are interesting but the end game revolves a lot around trading which isn't for everybody. Also, the current league is meh, so either fuck around a bit on standard for now or wait until the next league to jump in.
For all its flaws, I still have 1800 hours played so I would recommend it.

This user is a scrub. People have beaten Shaper in No Stash leagues just fine.
Synthesis mechanic itself is just kinda okay, nothing wrong balance-wise. Technical problems are pretty bad right now, theres a large amount of players who get crazy amount of lag when Syndicate encounters spawn in the map, so usually Syndicate Intervention first kills your ping and then your character. They released a patch that was supposed to fix it but people are still having problems with it.

Nothing forces you to play those mechanics if you dont want to. The only expansion content you're forced to complete in SSF is Delve because of the socket crafting recipes. If you dont want to enter the Nexus, then don't. Simply play the Memories like Breaches for extra xp and loot or skip them entirely.

The nexus is just annoying to interact with imo, and it suffers from the same problem some have with Incursion; that if you want to use it optimally, you have to do it every ten maps.
Using the synthesizer requires you to consult a spreadsheet to even know what you'll get and you have to use a lot of currency to make something decent. Granted, high tier items are possible, but unless you're really invested in crafting it's just throwing away currency.
There's also the aforementioned Betrayal lag.

It's a platform for lonely people to interact with other lonely people, without actually physically interacting with anyone. It's a South Korean thing, obviously.

I hope this is a joke right? The grind in maps doesnt start until like level 96 Everything before that is piss easy

14 if you put 4 tiles on all sides at the start. Since they buffed the rewards, trying to do as many far Memory tiles as possible with the pieces you got is kinda fun. You get more currency than you do with Lab runs which suggests they're going to nerf the Memory appearing rate a lot in future Leagues.

The real problem is the Syndicate lag, it sucks the fun out of the game when Hardcore is pretty much impossible and in Softcore your entire day's worth of xp is gone because of performance issues.

I would say if you never played diablo 3 before but enjoy just fucking dudes up then you will probably like the game, hell buy it on console if you just want to do that, it feels really nice with a controller. Just don't expect the game to change much if you switch characters, use different abilities, or sets.

I love PoE and I'll always continue to play it (unless it just completely utterly ruins itself), but I just can't be bothered with Synth league.

The challenges aren't very fun, I don't like the Nexus mechanic, Synthesizing sucks and the economy is trash. And map sustain feels shitty to me right now and I haven't found a good T16 to sustain so it just feels painful.

I'll probably try the fun event at the end, but this league just didn't do it for me. I also dipped out of Betrayal and skipped Bestiary altogether.

I did make this wand though. That was nice. Maybe I'll fuck around on Standard with all my old legacy shit or something.

More content is bad if it bloats up the map and keeps showing up instead of stuff you want. I don't mind it as much but god damn people were dropping like flies due to busted Betrayal encounters.

2000 hours and 5 and a half years of playing and I have never seen a Mirror. It's still fun coming back and trying the new League mechanics out, but I feel really bad for people getting into it now.

Nigga the campaign is all just fluff, lore, and learning how to get used to your build. Everything before 90 is a completely different thing than endgame.

I fucking hated Synthesis, worst league for me next to Bestiary. I really hope they don't shove this mechanic in. It stings even more for me since I had a really fun Ice Golem build going on, and the league's gimped map drops killed it for me for awhile. I found more fucking Exalt drops than Red maps early on, and buying red maps sucks shit even in bulk.

Yeah It's nothing, there are dudes with loads more time but a few guys I know have sub 1000 and still found one. Made the league for them.

Yeah my start this league was slow and clunky. I found 5Ex early on and then nothing since then. I made an Essence Drain/Contagion build that decimates every map and ignores all map mods and is just super easy to play but I just can't keep my map sustain going.

Delve was a lot better for me because I could farm Cities to keep my T16s supplied when I ran low, but this league I just can't build a stock of them at all.

Yes but this league sucks so most everybody who play it quit, and a 1 month league is coming soonish. I recommend playing a bit to get used to the game and making a new character when the 1 month event comes.
