Definitely Team Sonic Racing. Sumo did an excellent job with their previous two racers. The switch to the Sonic only representation has the downside of having less interesting playable racers, but at least the music is going to be amazing.

CTR looks like the same ol' "give it a facelift using some fancy engine but improve literally nothing about the gameplay" strategy Activision has taken with both Crash and Spyro.

Team Sonic Racing is adding all kinds of neat shit like car customization, all the way down to your paint job. SART had plenty to do if you were playing the game by yourself, just like classic CTR did, but in the end, I don't want to play any racer that doesn't play at 60fps.

The big thing TSR has over CTR is that it's actually a new game with original tracks and music. I'm disgustewd by these low effort remakes that let a pretty engine do all the work and they don't even improve the gameplay. (Spyro Reignited, Crash N.Sane Trilogy, Oddworld New 'n' Tasty go fuck yourselves).

As for Sonic, the other Sonic racing game was pretty fun and pretty colorful but it was not as engaging. The way CTR turbos work and the way the tracks are designed just keeps you active constantly.
For me there's no doubt. Though I may still get both because I love racing games with power ups.

Sonic. I played ctr today (the original) and those racetracks are awful. I don't care how good the drifting is, those racetracks are some of the worst I've ever played. Just flat open ground with nothing on them for 80% of the game. It's clear as day all the hype is nostalgia based.
TSR still looks too slow but Sumo always puts effort into the tracks and with Transformed they mastered the design of drifting while stacking on air tricks and all the tracks complemented the mechanics so I have a bit of hope.
I'm getting both no matter what but CTR did not impresa at all. Such a good idea of boost stacking, reserves and timed inputs for drift boosts wasted on such lazy tracks.

ASR:T is second only to CTR, so I'm conflicted. If this was Sega All Stars (+ Atlus) Racing I'd go for it as soon as it comes out, but instead it's just boring Sonic and pals.

I'm still willing to give both games a try, since it appears that TSR will have the fun 'career' mode like ASR:T had, with the missions and rankings for each. If I can co-op through it like in ASR:T, even better.

I never had a PS1 so I have no nostalgia for CTR, so it's TSR for me. Plus if I'm being honest, the class and team mechanics in TSR are really interesting to me and I can see myself cracking hundreds of hours figuring out not just which routes are the fastest on each track and optimizing times, but also figuring out which class is the best for each track and how to optimize all of them. Even if the team mechanics suck, there's also solo racing so I just feel like TSR is the more complete package anyways.

Dude, the online in GT Sport is legit. You get matched based on sportsmanship rankings, which is separate from driver level.
Try to play it like Burnout, you drop to E rank, and get matched with other shitters. Race clean consistently to climb to S rank sportsmanship, and get paired with other S rankers.
Dropping ranks is FAR easier than gaining, so those in S work hard to maintain it.

They could do tracks as DLC instead of characters. Have a good roster of about 21-24 in the base game, then have all DLC expand the track amount.
Then again, this is SEGA, asking them to follow logic is too much.

Too costly, DLC is only given the greenlight when it's obscenely profitable.

Lost World's DLC being free felt more like damage control than anything to me, plus I can't think of any instance of publishers charging for Nintendo-inspired DLC.

I guess that makes sense. But I'll be shocked if they just let TSR have not even a little extra content added through DLC since both the All Stars Racing games had minor DLC (aside from the many characters they added to Transformed on PC only)
