Had something like this happen to me while playing Forgotten Hope 2(WW2 BF2 mod), camping behind some bushes with an MG-42 and I mow down a group of GIs, last dude does a similar ragdoll-walking thing and it looked so real it's burned into my mind.

I play this game every year and holy fuck it's always fun

None really. There are a few graphical mods to add more hair to Max or make the menus look like classic MP games, but otherwise nothing major.

Love the game but apart from the unskippable cutscenes (I get it the game is loading but still) at some point Max crying EVERY 25 seconds about how he's a pathetic piece of shit and a drunk loser is too much. After like 8 hours I just can't stand it anymore. Shoots guy .. "His bullet ridden body fell to the floor like a piece of trash, almost as big as a piece of trash as I am considering I was drunk out of my mind again and my pathetic drunkard loser face was reflected in the blablablabla ..."

I thought the intro to 3 had plenty of soul. That one part where he taps his family photo after his break down hits me hard to this day.

There are mods nowadays to skip them, there is actually very little loading done during them

You know we say that to the youngins, but i do feel bad for them.
They grew up without fun schock and delicious cheese.

And it's a horribly missed opportunity since the tech is stuck in a game with very little gameplay and very few good levels. If you can even call a linear sequence of singular rooms and points of no return "a level".

I'm actually glad this game is regarded well today. People fucking HATED it when it came out because it wasn't muh snowy New York. I liked the change in setting and I liked the fact that it gave Max some sort of closure, even if it's not really related to the first two games.

max payne 3 is probably my most replayed game.

People still have mixed opinions about it today, there are entire threads where people shit on it, and entire threads where people love it. It's also funny you say that because a lot of the reviews complain that Max got closure in MP2 and 3 is stilted for doing it a second time, though I didn't enjoy MP2 and MP3 felt like a way more fitting closure than retreading MP1 with a love interest

The one thing that really irks me about Max Payne 3 is that your bullets magically turn from projectiles to hitscan in slow-mo as long as you're aiming at the head.
