You're having too much fun. Fun is not allowed.
holy shit i completely forgot about toontown
Thats mildly unsettling
>ywn go back to the innocent comfy days of playing Toontown after school, thinking it was so cool to be in the coin mint and to go through condos
I can't believe some one could find so many office puns
tfw no micromanager gf
Cogs are supposedly satire of companies that can't take a joke. Would you say that's relevant today?
All I can think when I look at this is modern Disney and how they'd never approve this.
>had a subscription
>they actually mailed physical trading cards with pretty cool art on them every month
Did anyone else have this?
>bloodsucker
>ambulance chaser
>Mr holywood
>loan sharks
>yes man
>glad hander
man they really went all out
jesse schell, producer of toontown online, has stated multiple times they were initially not robots and higher ups demanded they change them. so they went with robot versions but never actually told disney of this until it came out
>bottom right
I did, probably have em lying around somewhere. Remember getting that image as a poster, Toontown was the fucking shit
>tfw no chaosbots
>tfw we could have gotten a funny SMT reference
God damn these cards had SOUL written all over them
oh so it isn't because he's a hardass, he's an old man that frequently forgets shit
>autism
No thanks. What's gone can never be recovered.
>The Cogs won at the end.
>Your toon is being forced to wear a suit and work in a cubical.
what?
he's telling you that he suffers from autism.
Fuck the NPC quests, it’s very satisfying to be at Donald’s Dreamland and only get generic “destroy X cogs” tasks
No I'm saying everyone who plays this game has autism (and is a furry).
>Never got to see the Boss HQ before the game died
I always wondered if we'd ever see it
The Cannon game was the best minigame
Fight me if you disagree
>not the ring game
so that means you are also autistic and furry, this is your logic, correct?
cannon was best when you acquired 200 iq and could first shot reliably
both of you are wrong. race game is the clear best game
>not missing the trolley by a couple of seconds and being all alone
>your toon finally got a job and isnt a commie neet
>your toon has a salary with a disposable income that he can spend on lewd commissions
It's not that bad of a fate
>Getting off the trolley as it was leaving
>Actually able to get far into the game now that it I can play on the fan-servers that don't require a subscription and I'm not a brainlet kid
>Don't really feel that classic toontown nostalgia charm because I'm not a brainlet kid anymore
As a kid I never got much farther past the beginning of Donald's dock, but I still had shit tons of fun. Played so much I got a Whole Cream Pie (level 5 throw) without abusing building or invasion exp modifiers. Must've restarted over a dozen times. Feelsbadman.
>it's been almost 7 years since TTO went offline
>It's been almost 7 years since TTR was released
>TTR still hasn't added anything new, and is running into the same problem of not having new content that TTO did
youtu.be

daily reminder that these are the same composer
>that new tower in Bossbot HQ has just been looming down for years without being unlocked
TTR’s devs seriously need to get their priorities straight
>
So what's the problem with Toontown Rewritten? Why does everyone seem to dislike it? I've found it to be faithful to the source material.
no one dislikes it, it's the same game but actually up and with people playing it. people are just mad that the team not getting paid to do any of the work or host the servers is extremely slow on creating content on an ancient engine that definitely fucks up anytime they try to add new shit to legacy code
wait, wait wait, hold the fuck up.
>team not getting paid to do any of the work
like, we talking stolen work, or are they doing all this for free?
I wish there was another MMO like this but not with the toon aesthetic that attracts creepos
of course they're doing all of this for free, it's a private server. they can't be paid in any way or disney will waltz right the fuck over and shut it down
>"B-but, we're in school and making new content is hard!"
Toontown Infinite managed to do it, Corporate Clash managed to do it.
The TTR dev team is just either lazy, or unwilling to add new content into the game.
roblox meepcity or furcadia, take your pick
Because their goal is to also keep everything in the spirit of the original game. TTI was plagued by dev team issues and is basically dead, Corporate Clash is interestingly reworked but it ends up being even grinder than OG Toontown, so it lost me there. Also has low player count.
>Because their goal is to also keep everything in the spirit of the original game.
They could still add stuff while keeping the spirit of the original game, they don't need to go the TTI or CC route.
The only new thing TTR added in 6 fucking years were the Croc and Deer toons, it's inexcusable.
This. I honestly can't blame them for dragging their feet when it comes to adding substantial new content for what is the defacto official continuation of Toontown, there's got to be a lot of pressure that comes with that. Corporate Clash failing to maintain interest within the player base is a goddamn shame for how much it tried. I'd love for Corporate Clash's infinitely superior camera system to somehow be implemented in Rewritten.
Corporate Clash had an absolute abysmal launch. Servers couldn't get people in after all the hype of the new gag reel and more new content down the road. CC is mostly dead now, I'm glad Rewritten is still going strong,
I'm just incredibly happy they FINALLY added the option of remapping keys in Rewritten.
>The only new thing TTR added in 6 fucking years were the Croc and Deer toons
They recently finished the Silly Meter from TTO, but there's more things they promised that are still in limbo. Where are Field Offices? Where's the new playground behind that last cloud on the map? Where's the Executive Office Tower event?
the game being up is enough for a lot of people
I don’t want to know how many hours I’ve put into toontown. Shit is probably in the thousands
we need a Yea Forums happening on ttr
Not enough, the player count is dropping like a rock. Remember when the game used to have 5000-6000 players? now it's regularly under 2000, and sometimes even below a thousand.
>They recently finished the Silly Meter from TTO
This shouldn't even count since it's something from the base game that they could have added in at anytime, much like field offices, doodles, fishing, racing, and gardening.
it had 5000-6000 players because it was new, once the playline was scrapped. it reaches under a thousand because 95% of players are in america, mornings are quiet as a result. the player count will probably surge again during toonfest
