Doubtful, since BL2 writing had characters loudly proclaiming their sexuality. If they do use it as an opportunity for a joke, good on them.

If I'm playing a cool robot I don't want every voice line that comes out to be some horrid shemale voice digitallt pitched downwards to sound less feminine. I don't care the robot doesn't have a gender, I care if it has grating voicework. It would be even worse if they gave it a flat out female sounding voice.

It's non binary, so why would it matter how feminine or masculine it sounds?

It's a fucking robot. Unlesz someone programmed it to recognize itself has a particular gender, it doesn't have one. At best it just has a male or female voice and people anthropomorphize it based on that voice (see Loaderbot and Gortys).

I'd imagine the character was written with the intention of, you know, being a fucking robot and the inclusion of that above bio is an attempt to appear more inclusive than they are.

Honestly, just casually bringing up "his boyfriend" and not going into much more explanation that that is probably the most ACTUAL progressive way to handle that sort of thing. IE, bringing it up in the same casual way another guy would bring up his girlfriend makes it sound like there's no big deal he's gay, and people not commenting on it would show no one cares or questions it.

But no, a character's lack of straightness has to be shoved up every single orifice or we might just understand it.

This is true in a literal sense in bl2 since most endgame builds relied so heavily on health leach from moxie weapons that cranking all dps skills and just using moxie shit invalidated tank and defensive skills.

What if Fl4CK is a kind of character where his circuits are all fucked up and so he has many many many different voices and internal thoughts? Like using shotgun flack as an actual comparison, what if there is a different personality for each pellet. Like a "We are legion" kind of character.

Would that be fine? Do you think they will handle it like that or are they just looking for brownie points?

I wonder how strong those Hyperion shields are going to be. Shields have a tendency to get one-shotted normally so not sure how they'll make this gimmick work.
