I think the problem is that there was actually implication from the official source that there is indeed possibility of DLC beyond Bloody Palace, when we were told that if we ask hard enough there might be more playable characters included. The fact epilogues left things wide open didn't help.

I honestly don't see why people are complaining. The game launched with a complete story with no repeating levels or dumb stuff. Three playable characters. Now, Bloody Palace is in.
The game already has more content than Special Edition DMC3. I'd like to get Vergil, but acting like this is some grand betrayal of the fanbase is retarded. The game is already packed with content - Hell, I'd say there's more meaningful content in this game than DMC4 Special Edition, considering that game has five playable characters with the set of 10 levels for each of them.

3 BP is probably the best since shit is actually random. Yeah you can only see some encounters in later floors but is very unlikely to encounter the exact enemy format in the same floor order.
Also bosses are random. You could fight vergil3 as the first boss wich is cool

Not the person you replied to, but I've got two ideas:

1. Use the d-pad for changing Griffon and Shadow's general behavior. Press down to have them both form-up on V (as opposed to having to dodge when V himself isn't in danger). Maybe have one command that hard-locks one of them onto an enemy so that they ignore what V is locked-on to.

2. Let you recruit demons temporarily instead of killing them. Admittedly, I don't know what button you'd fit it on without getting rid of another mechanic or having it replace V's cane. Maybe have V command them like Nightmare during Promotion, so it would be limited to the larger enemies (for reference, you get to do something similar to Behemoths sometimes). Give each demon 2 or 3 attacks out of the their existing moveset and it would be a relatively easy way to mix up V's combat.

Nero, first try. Surprisingly Urizen 3 was easier as Nero than as Dante and I realized it's because it's so much easier to stay in the air as Nero
V, died to King Cerberus. Practiced his stage twice. Then beat BP next try.

I love that you get special taunts as rewards, and find it insane that the taunts actually DO things (motivation modifier for Dante and saber cane for V), but I was "done" with the game as soon as I beat BP, so the taunts came too late for me to bother to make use of them.

I still go back to it every few days because I realize whatever other game I'm playing is intolerable watered down bullshit compared to DMC, but it's disappointing that the only challenges left after getting all achievements lie in self-imposed ones like trying to style as hard as possible. I wish there was co-op randomized BP that was harder and longer so that I could still have novel DMC5 experiences, but I suppose any game would get old eventually.

I'm honestly struggling to think of a piece of rule 34 I've ever seen of a canon couple. I have no idea what it's like to be happy to see rule 34 of a loving couple. The novel fuelled the desire even more for me because Nero is stupidly lovesick for Kyrie to an endearing degree.

I felt like the biggest thing that V was missing was a way to avoid damage without unlocking from enemies and jumping around like a headless chicken. If I dodged with a pet it took way too long for them to keep on fighting and it would end up drawing enemies back to V's location, so I ended up doing a lot of fighting on DMD without using lock-on, so I didn't have half the directional moves, so it was decidedly NOT stylish.

The cane counter he can do is cool, but yeah, not rewarding at all, and you still need to stop locking on to use it. If he had some kind of backwards+cane counter move as an input, maybe a teleport like his finisher against Cavaliere Angelo, then he'd be a lot more fun to play.
