But it's unfair to say that. There's plenty of love for Jimmy T/Mona/9 Volt, the issue is Nintendo keeps the WW cast quarantined from other games. Ashley only lucked out because Ko was in charge of the Badge Arcade artwork, and Sakurai picked her for a lot of the WW representation in Smash.

The original devs have been disbanded for over a decade. The style and charm of the series has left the building. The passion and creativity needed to make new microgames and present them in an engaging format is gone. They've run out of gimmicks to base games on. I enjoyed it while it lasted, but there is no point in keeping WarioWare on life support anymore.

Rhythm tengoku the best+ was kinda bad too. It let new players join in more easily but it made it tedious af to get through the training stages. Thereby there were only like 20 or less new stages.

Overshadowing a protagonist of a series only ends in disaster. Ashley doesn't sell games. Ashley isn't and can not be the star. No breakout side character of a smaller series can be. She has a small audience, but it's not even as strong as the bottom of the barrel denominator that barely keeps waifushit anime afloat by regularly spending thousands on every product related to that anime.
