Best car racing games?

What cool racing vidya for PS4 would Yea Forums rec to a boomer that hasn't played games in years? Got a new PS4 and I want to try it.

Richard Burns and Dirt Rally for me, they're such a rush to play especially RBR.

What are you looking for? As far as simcades go, GRID 1/Autosport are probably the best ones. When it comes to arcade games there's Wreckfest (Flatout Ultimate Carnage too), GRID 2, OutRun Coast 2 Coast (bit of a pain to set up your wheel) and all the Trackmania games. Also rFactor and Assetto Corsa are good sims and have a lot of mods. If you want something to zone out to Euro Truck Simulator and Mudrunner are good.

driveclub if you dont mind 30 fps
if you do, gt sport even if its nowhere near as good as the numbered gt's
and dirt rally if you like rally games

At this point you either play sim racing or nothing. Or you buy an Xbox and get Horizon. No one seems to make fun arcade racers anymore. I'm hoping Rockstar will make another Midnight Club soon but I'm not sure how well MCLA did.

how does Grid 1 compare to Grid 2? I got grid 2 for free awhile back.

GRID 1 >GRID 2

Very different games, GRID 1 a simcade, it has relatively realistic physics, huge emphasis on maintaining good lines, good braking, trying to prevent sliding, etc. and it has a pretty cool team building system and a large variety of cars/events. GRID 2 on the other hand is an arcade racer, the cars still feel very weighty but the game's all about drifting through corners at fast speeds and just doing over the top racing. To tell you the truth I didn't play GRID 2 that much because the unlock system was too slow for my patience level and because of the focus on story but the physics felt really fun for an arcade racer.

I always thought grid 1 was more arcadey than sim. perfect game either way, only thing they could have done to improve it is add qualifying races, besides more and more tracks and cars, since that's a given lel

I sold my PS4 before GT Sport came out (but didn't like GT5 much and it looked worse so wasn't too fussed), but racing games for nearly 2 whole gens now have been shite.

Its in between, it goes for an approximation of real racin without going all out, especially if you compare it to 2 which is much less focused on the fundamentals and is more about crazy drifting

On ps4 probably assetto corsa, buying an xbox for forza is worth it, they really care about this game
