XIII Remake

I'm late to the party, but XIII rarely gets any attention on Yea Forums.

>Xbox, GameCube and PlayStation 2 shooter XIII is being remade for current-gen consoles and PC.
>Microids and PlayMagic announced today XIII, the cult-classic cel-shaded shooter developed by Ubisoft, is getting a remake.
>Based on the first five volumes of the comic book series, XIII is a mix between a story-driven adventure, and a first-person shooter.
>“We aim to craft the finest adventure for players and XIII is definitely in line with our publishing strategy,” said Francois Coulon, head of production at publisher Microids.
>“Our goal is to bring XIII’s compelling story to a new generation of players with the best possible graphics and animations.”
>PlayMagic will modernize the graphics, sound and animations while remaining faithful to the original look and feel. The gameplay mechanics are also being reworked, but will still “encompasses the original spirit of the game.”

>Originally released for the original Xbox, GameCube and PlayStation 2 in 2003, the XIII (thirteen) remake will be released November 13.
>It will be made available on Mac, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One in physical and digital editions.

wtf why
FFXIII sucks and didn't come out that long ago
all this remaster/remake cancer nowadays
smdh..

Obvious troll is obvious

>being remade
Hype lost. Make a new fucking game. I loved the original as well. Too bad.

these cell-shaded graphics look like borderlands

0/10 not even going to give you a (you).

It's a fucking drawing retard

I'm skeptical of remakes, too, but I have a sliver of hope for it because it seems nUbisoft isn't involved in its development. It could be a labor of love project like Cuphead.

Cool I guess, but why would they remake a mediocre, obscure game instead of a new one?

Let's hope to make it better with more fluid combat.

So is Ubisoft still holding the rights to the IP or not? I see their trademark renewed under the logos, is this a situation like Streets of Rage 4 or Shenmue III where SEGA holds the IP but leavs development and publishing to someone else?
Anyway, here's hoping the cliffhanger will get resolved this time.

Was just thinking about this game the other day, such a great and fun game. Man, that ending...

I really, really, really hope they stay true to the aesthethics of the comic, it's literally its soul and what sells it to me. The whole 70's-80's Espionage aesthethic, jazz funk and classic weapons and wardrobe, I don't want it set in the modern times with the shitty scary plastic tacticool cowaduty assault rifles we have

>So is Ubisoft still holding the rights to the IP or not?
They lost the rights.

Not quite. They have clearly painted over a screenshot of the original game, hence the aliasing you can see, as well as the obvious polygonal barack to the right.

Can't find an exact replica of the view, but you get the idea.

YOU CAN FLY

Sadly, no Adam West, but no David Duchovny hopefully.

Then why there's their logo in OP's image labeled for current year?

Shit I thought this was about FF XIII

>let’s make.a fucking remake Of a game that still looks amazing and aged well instead of a sequel to it with one of the biggest cliffhangers ever
Fucking hell at least release a comic saying what happened after the ending of the first game

It could be a case of a rights overlap during the time the teaser was made.
