This isn't true, because sacking for not meeting unreasonable demands implies there are a lot of potential applicants ready to take their place: high supply of workforce and low demand from Epic. In other words, "door's right there".

No unreasonable demands were made. Further, If there was a ready pool of applicants willing to work weekends, they'd have no need to let go any non weekend employees. If they had too many non weekend employees then they might offer some the chance to stay on, but work weekends. But then, they wouldn't be firing them for not working weekends. They'd be recognizing that their current staffing structure is no actually meeting the needs of the business and then making the necessary adjustments.

From the point of a hired worker, he can expect 40 hours week if he works "fulltime", not in shifts. Working 2.5x times as much is unreasonable since it poses a threat to a worker's health.

Literally only the absolute top EU countries compete. Not to mention that, the more specialized you are, the more your income leaps ahead in the US by comparison. People who work in IT for instance make far more money in the US than they ever could in Europe, same fore medics, engineers etc.
