On Standard? The game is insultingly easy and not punishing at all. That's the difficulty the vast majority of people played the game on, unfortunately.

I played RE2 in 1998 and it's one of my favorite games still. RE4 is one of the worst games in the franchise. Tank controls along with static camera angles have always been a technical compromise, not a deliberate design decision which is why they have always sucked. RE4 doesn't get away with being trash just because it improved the playability. The RE2 remake is a Resident Evil game the way RE4 should have been made but never was.
