i "finished" it and made an island with investors and made everything you can make and balanced it all. didn't like like that power plants were radius based because that forced you back into circle grids. i hope they rethink power distribution in a later patch.

>shitting on a game based on its politics
that wont work with EGS exclusives retard

>egs exclusive
>on uplay
okay kid

EGS exclusives have an automatic immunity to /pol/ sperging. Only Steam games get the full blast of their autism.

its not on steam, fagboy.

its not exclusive to egs either kid
only retards buy ubi games outside of uplay and want double drm

Game dev for AAA studio here. Can confirm. Everyone in my department is worried about our publisher's decision to release on steam and urging them to take Tim's offer. We put a bunch of woke stuff in our game but not too much, just enough to please the normies but we feared we're going to get cherry picked to death.

This is not a LARPing thread.

Attached: Anno1800_2019-04-23_17-28-06.png (697x203, 151K)

Correct. This is an EGS exclusives thread.

what

He's doing an epic bait

if the most wokest and most sjw game in the world made its way as an egs exclusive /pol/tards wont sperg about it. something to do with how theyve made steam their safe space and will try their absolute best to keep it clean from games that dont pander to their ideology.

Please leave my thread alone.

My friend is playing this game and says it's really good. I don't know much about the Anno series particularly 1800, can someone explain to me why this game is worth $60 with soon too come DLC? For reference I bought Cities Skylines on-sale and most of it's DLC for less than the base price of this game.

fucking niggers

For me, it's the setting and general comfiness. Haven't looked at any of the DLC but yeah, that's worrying.

crack now?

Shit, thanks. I didn't know that

for what purpose?

if you're new to the series just go play 1404 instead and see if even you even like the core gameplay loop in the first place.

I really love this game even thought i suck at every anno game since 1501, i still play them. Except last futuristic anno cuz its suck dick. I juzt think they need to rethink war, cuz in 1404 war was kinda cool, and its Napolionic era, so wars there looked very cool!

Gonna restart again on my next day off.

Just so it looks pretty

I only played the beta and really enjoyed it. But I dont really feel the urge to get the full game and play more of it. With these types of games I usually make one city and work on it for hours until I fuck up or dont have anything new to do.

Referring to a ship as a she is a longstanding tradition though, makes sense

Have limited coastline. Put coastal buildings on 150% efficiency to compensate. iamsosmart.jpg
Quarz miners start the revolution. Fishermen join in. Commuter pier workers don't have it so bad but join their fellow workers against the bourgeoise enemy. Now workers from other islands can't get to their job. Whole island stops functioning.

that means that all /pol/ is made of kids since no one outside fortnite retards would ever consider buying games from the chinese government

No, it's an RP thread. You're not LARPing if you're on the internet, shitlord.

>named after men, mostly
>referred to as women
Strange

I'm pretty sure ships don't speak, though. It should be the male captain doing the speaking, considering the time period.

they need to put back planting trees like 1404 where you could pay gold to plant forests everywhere. i want to surround my towns with nice thick forests.

based and comfypilled

You can, tho

the 2k19 special

you can only buy the silly ornament trees that plant a square of grass with them. you could plant trees in 1404 that were the same as the natural trees you find on the islands and blended in with the terrain. i dont know why they removed it.

This game is so trash, why can't SJWs make a good game?

I'd play it if they have a mod to remove the minorities. Oriental waifus are okay tho

Use the forest trees on the workers buildtree

I agree. Land combat with cavalry and guns would be great.

It's pretty retarded they shoehorned that shit in a game set in the 1800s.
But, it's Ubishit, so, what do you expect.

Is this worth $60?

Another car crash Anno thread.
Fantastic.

>really want to play Anno
>am really stupid and never do well in strategy games or city builders

is it too late for me?

anno plays itself to the point where its hard to fail if you go slow and steady
failure occurs when you rush things and overextend

Like game like thread

anno isnt hard
just get one of those charts that shows you the production ratios

Git gud, like literally just try your best.
I, too was new to the series not so long ago.
it's one of those games you have to learn how things works by failing and learning from your mistakes.
And it's fun.

Apparently it is for many people

>game is on uplay which is required to run regardless making it retarded to buy the game on any other store be it steam or epic
what did he mean b y this?

the game had a free demo, everyone who wants to play it has played it

This was my capital. It grew way too slow so my rivals fucked me over, now I'm forced to restart. But this city will always live on in my heart.

No fucking shit mate
when you need to make another farm next to existing one and have to destroy a portion of farm doing it prevents it to decrease efficienty

Anyone think battlecrusier is too much underpowered?
It’s so underwhelming

Legit question do you have models/textures set to low or something? I haven't seen many close-up screenshots but if you don't, wow those NPC faces are atrocious looking and they look like they have 8 polygons max

It's not meant to be played in first person.
It's just a gimmick.

Ubisoft is well known for obnoxiously bad optimization. I presume it would explain

this is very detailed for a top down game

fix the fucking trade routes holy shit
getting real sick of games losing mechanics/QoL that were present in previous games

what are peoples opinions on 2070?
thats the only one i got cos it looked cool at the time, is it close mechanically to the other annos?

what was it exactly?
Anno 1800 is my first Anno

It's great, all anno games are great, except 2205

While the richfags-zone do look pretty nice, that's just too many damn parks

Playing it right now. Fundamentally, it isn't different from the other Annos but there are adjustments to be made because of unique mechanics.

How's autism treating you?

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-23-00-43-41.jpg (2560x1440, 1.66M)

I have the game on max settings for the most part. There's thousands of citizens, if they actually had HD models this game would implode. I'm happy enough with them having little interactions and routines, the faces give them certain charm.

You can't reserve an amount of your goods when doing internal trade. So I can't have beer on 2 islands if only one of them produces, because the boats will pick up all the beer on the producing island eventually.

What is this even based on? Plenty of likable white dudes like the captain, press guy, Sir Archibald Blake, etc.

If you honestly take issue with there being likable women and non-white characters then you're probably just looking for shit to get mad at.

Not enough cargo holds and item sockets for the expeditions.

I haven't build any steam ships though. Can they hold more things than a ship of the line?

Attached: 1306148734711.jpg (600x600, 333K)

>ship stops moving for no reason between where it was and where I told it to go
>ship I'm supposed to escort gets bugged and hangs out in the corner of the map
>having to provide a good for tw areas when only one of them can produce, and it's ridiculously hard to time the routes/quantities with constantly changing populations and the wind direction varying for ships

Despite all this I love the game. I just wish there was a way to reserve stuff in my warehouses.

Attached: 5.png (916x914, 835K)

Yeah I'm hoping we get a patch with some of these QoL changes that almost everyone seems to want. They also need to get rid of influence. Having the same resource dictate that amount of islands you can have, the amount of trade unions etc you can have, and the amount of ships you can have sucks.

You get all these amazing items to tweak your chains with and then they limit how many you can use.

I kind of understand influence, but it needs to be more obtainable.

Sucks to have a shit ton of animals and artifacts that I can't display because I hit my influence cap.

Also why do I need some huge ass museum extension just to display a little silver coin?

not that guy, the characters arent bad, but female engineers / female ship captains is pretty dumb

fourth city attempt, on easy.
My first attempt was on easy, but wanted to restart because I didn't know what I was doing.
Second attempt I learned proper placements for production buildings, but when I got to new world, pirates kind of fucked my main colony.
Third attempt I wanted to see how the advance AI was. AI took most islands, and I was started to get choked on logistics, and felt overwhelmed at what I needed to do.

Fourth attempt is on easy, I wanted a more casual play through, as I haven't even past the Artisan class yet.
I feel like I've been doing well so far. Making good money earlier than I expected. Just got Artisan Class and sent ship to new world.
Gonna plan on making a fleet and send steel and guns to the New World because pirates really fucked my colonies in the second and third play through.

I do really like my boulevard.

Attached: Anno1800_2019-04-24_19-57-57.jpg (3440x1440, 1.59M)

>they look like they have 8 polygons max
they do
do you have any idea of the scale of this game?

Oh and I feel it's a mistake at not restarting map as soon as I realized I'm near the pirate island, as I still plan on taking those islands south of me.

>I kind of understand influence
Same but I don't see why they introduced it in a primarily singleplayer game where the endgame is all about autistically tweaking everything. Same with the Royal Taxes. It just seems they hated the way that most people played the game with a megacity being fed by loads of other islands.

royal taxes do not stop you building a mega city, they just stop slumcities from being enormously profitable

Engineer is HOT

Attached: engineer_units_01-1-1024x513-1.jpg (378x471, 108K)

I mean, I hate forced SJW shit that are there just for trying to be buttbuddies with retards on twitter, but it's a game, and Anno games never really were for absolute realism, if you let something so small as a female engineer or captain keep you from enjoying a game then I'm not sure you what to say.

Attached: 1556029921006.jpg (245x246, 14K)

It doesn't keep me from enjoying the game, it's just a stupid, deliberate deviation from reality

I know that, its still fairly easy to make bank with your city but it's weird that they seem to have gone out of their way to make the old ways of playing worse.

Still its a lot better than 2205.

well on the flipside in anno 1404 you could only promote a limited proportion of your population and still had to keep some of the lower tiers around, in this game you can promote literally every house
buidling big cities still makes you the most money

Based and coastpilled

>deviation from reality
The game has mermaids, krackens, sirens, exorcisms, etc.

It's essentially the same in 1800 now with workforce. You always need all the population tiers.

not the same thing at all and no it doesnt
it like if they made iron ingots hot pink for no reason

tell that to my island full of only investors

Yes. Steam freighter have 6 cargo slots and 2 item sockets, battlecruisers have 3 cargo/4 item

Putting women in positions of authority has obvious appeal that changing the colors of elements doesn't.

>no it doesn't
On the expeditions.

Been lurking these threads, man it looks nice and comfy. The last city builder i played was Zeus Master of Olympus, years ago. I miss that comfy feel

revising history into what you wish things were like is totally delusional

>check warehouse
>sauages and shnapps running out again
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

But I just figured out they the higher tiers "outgrow" the needs from two tiers below them which is neat.

The commuter pier is fucking amazing, too.

Why would you type something this stupid? You think this game is 100% realistic?

It's a video game. Anno has never been a realist video game either.

historical accuracy is different to revisionism and I think you know that

It's a PC exclusive.

Attached: The workers are revolting.jpg (2560x1440, 778K)

Sure it's different, but having female leaders in a video game is not revisionism.

What's it like living on planet schizo?

Attached: 1491265839492.gif (222x200, 325K)

Ew, darkies

it is because it's a very clear and well known fact that all merchant and military ships in the age of sail were men only

Not every thread needs to be this same argument. Start a new one so the trannies can brigade that one while we talk about the game here.

This is really stupid user. Look at OPs picture and tell me everything in it conforms to "very clear and well known fact"

Welcome to modern games, white man bad.

Where is my crack? I will not support cucksoft

too bad idiots keep trying to argue against it with intentionally dishonest arguments

Anno 1404 had a literal female military crusader leader that absolutely everyone loved, even the clergy, why do you have to shit up the place now? Anno has never been about absolute historical accuracy, I mean, come on.

>revising history into what you wish things were
See, this is where you shit the bed, nobody give a fuck about that because they understand that the game is neither historically or realistic.
Saying that you like, or don't care about, women in position of power doesn't mean you wish or claim this is how it's always been

Attached: 1556070644346.jpg (238x183, 6K)

The game is historical
people like authenticity
It's the reason they stopped making those stupid future Anno games
Just stop shitting up the thread with mundane unintelligent arguments like equating deliberate revisionism to accuracy or unrealistic game mechanics to unrealistic aesthetic choices

Are you stupid? Did you read my post?
>absolutely everyone loved
>even the clergy

>It's the reason they stopped making those stupid future Anno games
they stopped because 2205 was unbearable trash and they went back to their roots, not to appeal autists like you that will seethe non stop because of a female voice on a random ship

>stop shitting up the thread
You mean people like

>70€ for the base game
>cant even get it on steam
>not even sure if my toaster will run it well.

well looks like i will pirate it first to test if it even works on my desktop.

It doesn't make me angry at all, I don't hate women, I think revising history to fit an agenda is stupid and people who defend it with weasely arguments are even stupider

>pirate it
a-any day now haha

Dont worry chang, itll come soon enough.

Looks like shit.

Looks pretty nice.

It's pretty demanding. It won't run on a toaster.

could run anno 1404 with almost everything on high, so i'm thinking anno 1800 will too with a lot turned down.

Anno 1404 came out 11 years ago

not the same engine. If you want a barometer, see how 2205 runs.

Attached: 1538809341825.jpg (417x373, 15K)

It's on steam, ebin games store and uplay. And if you buy from the first two you still need uplay to launch it.

Any building that requires forest to work will fill their working radius with trees. Just place one and let the trees grow then remove the building

>The game is historical
Anno have never been historically accurate, sure it definitely take elements from our own history but the serie more often than not make its own shit with it
>people like authenticity
Of course, I'm one of them, but there's a world of difference between appreciating authenticity and having a panic attack because it's not 100% authentic
>It's the reason they stopped making those stupid future Anno games
Nah, they stopped because they fucking sucked and people prefered past era than future ones
>blah blah blah

There was a patch that adressed the abnormal slowdown on the Steam version so it's there for the people who preordered it before it was delisted.

How long is the campaign? I just found my father's diary and I can't really be bothered to continue this story unless it's over soon.

IIRC you go to South America and establish a colony soon after.

>can't even get the game for half price from a shady key site
Should I really buy it for the full price?

I've never played anno before. Should I get this game? Stupid question since so many of you are playing it. But it looks nice. I know there are older ones out there, but I like getting the newest one.

Yes you should, This is unironically the best anno game.

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-22-10-17-38.jpg (1920x1080, 827K)

Is there anything gamebreaking requiring online access in the game? I don't want another Anno 2070: fucking up shit just because you can't connect to server.

Why not

If you want a comfy builder you can set your rivals to easier ones and disable pirates altogether. The campaign does a decent job at explaining concepts too.

How to balance aesthetics with efficiency? I don't want to make a simple grid, but it feels like the game expects that.

Trans?

Thanks. I enjoy building and a bit of that pve aspect. Only thing that sucks is that it seems like keysites are all sold out.

good lord. What's your playtime on this one?

>unironically the best
nah, it has many flaws that make it inferior to 1404/2070
specially the influence system is a complete tragedy

>he doesn't want to grid in a game that still is based entirely around grid building for 20 years

Rather than spending $60 on something you might not like, you could probably get 1404 Gold for $20 at most. It's one of the greatest games of all time up until this one, and in some ways is still better than 1800.

It's like the same thing but set in the middle ages, and instead of multiple sessions, the map is split down the middle so half of it is arab desert and half is temperate.

Also, what's the seed for this map?

WHAT

Attached: 1533792608827.png (1600x900, 978K)

So how does the Baker trade union work? Does it just mean I can remove the windmill and use the grain at the same output or will it give me increased output since im no long converting grain to flour at the ratio of 2 grain - 1 flour?

>1404 Gold
Finally someone with a brain. I see so many americans/anglos who play it now for the first time getting the normal, non-venice version.
Also all mods for 1404 are for venice.
IF YOU WANT TO PLAY ANNO 1404 GET THE GOLD/VENICE VERSION

Woah man, are you doing a obscure /mlp/ reference of how you start something and it's already shit?

>no crack
Should I just play 1404? I am reading that it's just as good if not better.

>do nothing
>relationship deteriorates
It's gonna be hard

It's a logically progressed version of 1404. As such, it's a better and more challenging game. 1404 is still great though and has better music.

And how many newbs will do that, thinking this addon is just adding a few skins and you don't really need it?

just like a real woman

>a house caught fire
>music sounds like my whole island is burning

is that an mlp thing?

Feature-wise, how is it different from the recent futuristic Annos they made? Not seeing much change.

Attached: 1493926887388.jpg (1280x720, 99K)

No clue what seed

18 hours

Diplomacy is honestly fucked in this game.
Chances of trade deals and NAPs are literally zero unless you reach the 60-70s. By the time you even approach that, you lose an easy 4-5 on deterioration while only gaining maybe 2-3 on praise/gifts. So just keep spamming praises to compensate right? Oh, but those are time-restricted so by the time you can try attempting a praise, they'll have lost relationship to deterioration once or twice already. There's just no way to make progress at all.
Everybody is either a huge asshole nigger or instant BFFs.

Attached: 1528818115845.png (600x600, 458K)

THERE'S A RAT IN YER LAUNDRY

Do quests for the character.

You can do things in the game that will naturally please the other players. Some like you building a large naval fleet, some like you sinking pirate ships, some like you claiming land, etc. There's more ways to impress outside of using the diplomatic function and doing quests.

That sounds very efficient. Just chop up the train to pieces and turn each cart then connect the bunch after you've done that 20 times. And also you need a locomotive on the front and back.

Night and day difference between 1800 and 2205.
Closer to 2070 but way, way different. Particularly after the 3rd tier, things start getting complicated.

I feel bad but I'm gonna make my New World population survive on friend plantains, ponchos, tortillas, church, and boxing matches.

It is WAY too complicated to provide a good to both areas if I can only produce it in one. Now if there was a "leave at least 40 rum in your New World warehouse" option THEN it would be manageable.

So as my city grows is it best to outsource the majority of my farmer and worker based manufacturing to other islands? Such as wood production, is that best moved to other islands? I haven't reached a tier higher than 3 and I started over to make everything more streamlined.
I have a separate island for beer and another for beef and peppers while all of my canning is handled at my main island. I just want to be sure I'm headed in the right direction.

I just buy all my rum from kahina. Screw it. It's only 4k for 50t.

It's generally good to have satellite islands for raw and/or intermediate materials that can be shipped and made into the final product on your main island. So yes the satellites will mostly be farmer/worker. All the ugly pollution stuff can be put on those.

Another important thing is that when you reach level 4 engineers, a harbor building commute pier lets your workforce go between any island that has one.

Oh and another thing. Any tier of people will stop needing stuff that the people 2 tiers below them needed. (I.e. Artisans do not need fish, work cloths, shnapps. Engineers do not need sausages, soap, beer, marketplace, pub, church and so on)

Yes, obvious SJW appeal.

Awesome. Good to know I'm on the right track. Thanks, user.
