How you guys enjoying it? Whats been the biggest roadblock for you so far? For me it was the possessed doll on Toy Box, before that it was the fight at Twilight Town.
>New Game plus or no? >Attractions on or off? >How does it compare to 2FM crit mode?
>New Game plus or no? Yes, it feels like it was designed around carrying keyblades over >Attractions on or off? doesn't seem to matter with how little they pop up at all now >How does it compare to 2FM crit mode? theyre pretty neck and neck desu
Jack Cox
Heros Origin keyblade feels like it's essential to crit mode
New game, but I refuse to use Ultima until I reach the keyblade Graveyard. By then all my other keyblades should be around its level. Turned ff attractions.
Asher Howard
So what the hell is different?
Juan Anderson
Shit gets critical
Parker Murphy
NG, attractions off. 2FM crit is more forgiving because levels negate a lot of the damage output and also its a weird game because 2FM crit can be two different games: playing using magnet and playing without using magnet.
There's no skill in KH3 crit that trivializes 50% of the game like magnet does so you kind of need to manage your AOE nukes efficiently for mob encounters.
There's the obvious "You have less health and enemies do more damage" bit, but also elemental defense actually matters and so does eating food. I haven't gotten far in but there's new critical exclusive abilities, you start off with one that disables Attractions in favor of making them guaranteed form changes instead
Hunter Lee
>There's no skill in KH3 crit that trivializes 50% of the game like magnet does
I mean Aero and Thunder are stupidly OP in KH3 but I assume that's not the case in Critical
Jose Phillips
They are still good but harder to pull off with resources. Also part of what made magnet stupid OP is that it setup 100% safe attacks while also giving you damage since you can just freely combo enemies caught in the magnet. Aero is a lot larger and more erratic to combo with but does crowd control
Jose Russell
Aero is pretty broken during the part where you fight thirteen Xehanorts at once, but that's only because they all share the same health bar. Sorta like the Larxene exploit. Apart from that one issue I don't feel like I'm abusing the system when I use it.
Ryan Taylor
>disables Attractions in favor of making them guaranteed form changes instead
I didn't realize this
Jeremiah Cruz
>4 deaths to Darkside I'm not going to have a lot of fun with this lvl 1 playthrough, am I? The biggest roadblock by far seems to be my launch ps4 that's chugging intensive fights along with 20ish fps, that shit muddies up my control something fierce.
The game wasn't balanced for crit. There are bosses and mob fights that are just as easy as they were in easier difficulties and others that are extremely difficult and unfair because of bad design.
Take the first mob fight in Twilight Town for example, they throw like 20 Dusks at you at the same time and all of them have super armor and can 2-shot you. And that's not even counting the 3 other sniper nobodies aiming at you in the corner.
The only way to win that fight is too cheese it by camping and spamming shotlock and the Dream Eater Link.
Andrew Kelly
Demon Tide has me fucked. God damn, Donald seems to heal even less and it does 70% of my health in one hit. I resorted to using the Ultima weapon and it still fucks me.
Jace Barnes
Never even took damage in that fight on critical. First off reprisals are so OD in the early game that its the answer to almost everything and your combo modifiers actually let you do infinite combos for all intents and purposes. Attack x3, launcher, air attack x2, groundbreaker, and you reset your combo again. Dusks having super armor is fake news because it only happens during their evasive animations and their attack animations which is par for the course of not only the game but the series
Robert Ross
How is using Dream Eater cheesing? It's a legitimate move put in the game. One that deals a lot of aoe specifically for moments like that. It's almost like you have that mob rush after you got the dream eater link for a reason.
Carter Cruz
Counter shield is ideal for demon tide. Stay in one place and wait for the wave to come to you when it turns red to build up power.
Carson Rogers
How is it? I can't be assed replaying though the game so soon. Maybe next year.
Connor Lopez
Is that the charge move it does? Shotlocks other than Ultima's seem to do little damage to it too. Do I have to resort to using Links for the first time?
Jacob Nelson
NG+ with critical seems to be the way to play from my experience. It's way harder so you sorta need those extra keyblades.
Chase Butler
Yeah, it's the charge move. You want to get into the counter shield transformation during that segment and block the charging attack three times before hitting it. Deals a shit ton of damage.
Nathan Campbell
Thanks mate. I like that I'll actually have to pay attention to what keys I have equipped for their forms and not just what I like to use.
Jason Morales
No problem, and same. Form changes are easily the best addition to the series KH3 made.
Jeremiah Bell
the Waterside is just the first roadblock since you don't even hav potions. He's dangerous when he's about to grab the blob of energy from the ground, and while he's firing homing shots from the hole in his stomach. Just tread carefullly on those two bits
Counter shield shits on that fight actually 1 shotted that.
Nathan Taylor
Doing new game plus, attractions off. Shit is fun and challanging now. Even with the ultima weapon its still challenging. And still the final mix of 3 isnt out yet so i cant compare it yet.
Alexander Adams
Oh and anyone else notice that donald and gooby dont ask about ingredients as much?
Luis Rivera
Oh wow the biggest issue totally isn't your fault? You should hang out with DSP.
Jose Harris
>Want to explore and grab some chests in critical >Mobs 1-shot me and fuck over my progress >Have to force myself from main battle to main battle missing all the chests and xp
Protip: most keyblades are ugly. Monsters Inc looks like a pile of garbage.
Nicholas Hall
The ones that have edges on them look pretty cool.
William White
>not doing a level 1 run because I'm not that sadistic >get to toy world, been okay so far haven't died that much >get shit pushed in hard by mechs that can hit you while they're winding up attacks >get shit pushed in even harder by the qt doll heartless boss that also can hit you with attacks that wind up (when she starts to move freely she can hit you) >defeat the final ufo boss no sweat don't even think about what I'm doing just mashing X Yeah nah crit mode makes some things an absolute cunt while not really adjusting for necessary AoE abilities are when there are multiple mobs that have potential ohko attacks. The game punishes greed well I suppose but becomes infuriating at times where you really need some good crowd control.
Caleb Martinez
did they do anything to address the fact that the Keyblade Graveyard was ass
Zachary Sanders
Also: friends tend to die far too often just like in 2FM and will spend most battles with stars around their heads, which means little reaction commands from them as well.
I forgot how much I hated the mechas in Toybox so I definitely have no excitement to return there
Jason Walker
Fighting mechas with mechas is almost 100% required now, when you get to areas where you have to fight three or four at a time you absolutely must be in one do avoid taking ohkos and doing fuck all damage.
Jason Hernandez
Lvl1 Critical run going on and this lass is causing me a bit of trouble. Might just go to Kingdom of Corona to check on some good items before giving her another attempt. I did get her on her last bar a couple of times so it's definitely plausible.
I had a similar problem, you should try eating something like a full meal that buffs you and there you go. Usually lasts about 30mins in game so you can wait and deactivate it if you prefer going back to the og challenge. Using meals looks very useful in crit
Thomas Cruz
Ah. I'd completely forgotten that meals even existed since I didn't use any on my previous playthrough on proud. Cheers.
Oliver Long
Anyway fuck those possessed toys that help her, worst fight of the game
Jaxson Hernandez
I brought my keys over so (a) I can use keys that I never/rarely used like pooh's key or remy's key. I find it interesting that they are clones of other transformations, but they give you different forms therefore different abilities. Also (b) I'm not getting ultma again. Fuck that shit, I had more fun grinding in KH1FM that that gay ass slider.
Turned off attractions so I can get more situation meter since they nerfed the meter gain in crit. Apparently that's more "challenging" according to square, but it shows how fragile base sora is.
2FM crit is still superior by a mile, but 3FM is still fun. Lack of moves or magic that deal with mob fights hurts a lot, and I hate cutting combos short all the time, reminds me of BBS and DDD.
Finished Toy Box with relative ease on this 100% file. After which I'll do a level 1.
Herc's counter shield fucks her up good. Just get your shots in, know her tells, guard up x2, and unleash the beast. Corona is tougher on level , so at least grit through Toy Box for thunder and another accessory slot.
And don't skip on the Hidden Mickeys since they give good shit. Just don't use the stat boosts if you want a true Level 1, but the OD accessories are free game.
Adrian Sanders
>but 3FM is still fun this is not final mix, only critical mode we will get FM soon for kh3
Nathan Reyes
whoops im fucking tired dude. When I said 3FM, I mean crit. Force of habit I guess.
Oliver Reed
>he didn't drop it immediately after KH3 and stick to summaries lmaoing at your life
Levi Anderson
Got her down just now. Found a corner where I'm safe from the constant possessed toy spawns and waited for my MP to refill. Thanks man.
