Umpteenth entry in a dying genre.

Somehow...I already knew.

OH FUCKKKKKKKKKKK

what movie

I don't care about capeshit, post the actual gif.

>people getting pissed off at spoilers
who cares?

Respawn isn't making their employees work 100 hour weeks, fucking slackers. Really though, they need more updates. The battle pass was underwhelming as well.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO
THIS MEANT EVERYTHING TO ME
11 FUCKING YEARS WASTED
I HAD PER-ORDERED TICKETS AND EVERYTHING

FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU

It's a great game. I do wish you could unlock more crates though. Also, capping the level at 100 and preventing the possibility of getting anymore is quite a shame. Other than that it's a solid game. Cosmetics don't really matter but again, itd be nice if it was possible to get more after the highest level has been attained.

theres a million things wrong with the game and the devs refuse to alleviate the issues

for example: the mozambique and p2020 are literally the most useless pieces of shit ever and the game has no real early game when it's based on how lucky you get. this means somebody can land next to you and get a peacekeeper and a level 3 armor and you get a mozambique and a white knockdown shield

they COULD fix this by buffing the mozambique and p2020 to give you a CHANCE against somebody wearing level 2+ armor. They actively refuse to do this.

Last time I played it was a couple weeks after it came out. Honestly fun and far and away the best BR out. Only issue is all BRs are trash and I'd rather play an actual game than a genre based on ADD

another example of something that should be easy and the devs refuse to do: options for duos/solos/quads

>duos/solos/quads
this would kill the game now that que times are slowing down already

Mozambique is decent if you are aiming down sights. Goofier has too much spread. If you're worried about dying so fast don't drop in a hot zone.

>one game that is super popular
>gives weekly updates
>has no problem taking the best of other games and implementing them quickly and efficiently into their own system

>the other saw some added skins in almost 3 months of it's release

>goofier
*hip fire.

>no new content
>no fixes for the countless existing issues
>no incentive to keep playing like a ranked mode or challenges
>basically just dropped the game at this point to work on the star wars game

>3 months
This is going to get people, people are probably going to freak out that it has been 3 months since Apex released.

I constantly wreck people with the p2020 wtf are you talking about? You're just shit.

yea buddy. I bet you constantly wreck people that know how to play the game and have a r301 when you have a p2020

Despite what a decent portion of the Fortnite community says. Content is fucking king even if it occasionally introduces bugs. Fortnite set a standard that pretty much nobody can match at this point. They literally shutdown other projects to put more devs on Fortnite. They put out new content every fucking week or so. People have come to expect it. It keeps them coming back and when a new BR game shows up they expect the same and if they don't get it, the game feels empty in comparison to Fortnite. BR games dont offer any real sense of accomplishment once you've won a few games because anyone can win. So much of the genre is based on RNG, that often times, the win doesn't feel earned. Its not the same as bashing your head against a tough boss/puzzle/etc until you figure it out. You can just so happen to be put in a lobby with trash players. You can just so happen to land on 3 of the best weapons in the game. You need to put out content regularly or the game dies because there isnt enough of a reward to keep people playing. This is an underlying issue with the genre as a whole. People who win need to be given some sort of lasting reward aside from cosmetics or the game will get stale. The problem is that could mean the good players become unstoppable. I guarantee that if Fortnite stopped the flow of content and worked on making the game more stable like everyone asks for constantly, you'd see Fortnite take a massive drop in players within even just 3 months

This is quite true. Despite my love for Tetris, I quickly lost interest in tetris 99 after my first victory. An offline mode would've been nice, too.

But even so, despite fortnites constant updates and new skins; something about apex legends feels more satisfying. Perhaps its the special abilities and weapon attachments, I don't know but take away the skins and I think apex, at its core, is a better game than fortnite. I thoroughly enjoy them both equally though.

I don't think it's impossible to make BR games feels consistently rewarding over long periods of time but damn has nobody been able to achieve the goal successfully.

Why is my screen just staring at the ground for 8 seconds in black and white every time I die instead of spectating a teammate?

What is even the point of mirage's ult?

Why does caustic's ult slow his teammates when they can't even dodge it?

Why do the developers refuse to buff the mozam/p2020?

Why are about 10-15% of the servers I play on a fucking potato?

Why does this game have such atrocious netcode and favor people that have high ping?

Why do you force me to play 7/9 legends to grind battlepass xp when I only enjoy the play style of 3 of them?

Why does the zone give you a flash of eye cancer everytime you step in/out of it?

Why the fuck do I start doing a finishers on nearby enemies crawling around when I'm just trying to open a door?

Why don't we have an option for solos/duos/quads?

Why is it impossible to report a cheater when a different squad finishes you while you are downed?

Why do some squads get an advantage over others when dropping? (sometimes you shoot straight down and other times you are forced to slow curve)

Why does Bangalore have to give a 1500 word essay about every item she pings while the other legends just say "Mozambique here"?

Why can my teammates give me a seizure during legend selection?

Why have I not accumulated enough crafting metals for a single legendary cosmetic when I've saved them up all the way until max level? (I ONLY HAVE 600!)

Why do you stop getting crates after level 100 but you still get this useless red currency?

Why can I not switch out attachments on golden weapons?

Why is the battlepass so terrible?

Why are the content updates so small and far between?

Why is there no ranked/MMR/leaderboards?

I liked fortnite in the beta where the only time people used building material was to build bridges to shoot the fuck out of you. Now looking at the game every fight just consists of people spam building until they make a fucking mansion and the fight usually ends when the other person has the better angle or more materials. I just can't stomach that game anymore or watch anyone stream it

>Why the fuck do I start doing a finishers on nearby enemies crawling around when I'm just trying to open a door?
Don't hold square. Thanks for reminding me that playing different legends speeds up the battle pass xp.

>square
o god he's a console player

>Why does Bangalore have to give a 1500 word essay about every item she pings while the other legends just say "Mozambique here"?
I have found some of her commentary quite informative in regards to certain attachments and weapons; providing new ideas and strategies to my gameplay.

Red currency is for new legends. They should let you use this current to purchase loot crates or item shop stuff though.

Don't hold action key.

>I have found some of her commentary quite informative in regards to certain attachments and weapons; providing new ideas and strategies to my gameplay.

maybe if you're new to the game but this gets really old really fast

>Red currency is for new legends
everybody at max level already has all of the 3 legends you can buy with the currency.. when you are max level, why are you getting a currency that you can't even use?

It's likely the movement. Speed gets our adrenaline pumping and Apex at it's core is about speed and fluid movement. Your character runs quickly, you can slide, do flips and shit. Fortnite is much more methodical. Your character moves so slow and players have constantly complained about it. It's why epic is constantly adding new vehicles and forms of transportation to Fortnite because they know people want to, for lack of a better phrase, go fast. I think the reason epic doesn't go full apex and allow flips and shit is because it would totally change how the game is played and would like require tons of work for somet ing the more casual community would be against. It works in apex because the game is designed around it and TTK in apex is much longer so even if you get surprised by speedy Gonzalez showing up outta nowhere, you still have a ton of time to react. In fortnite, if fluid movement wasn't based on RNG, tons of players would become frustrated because you can easily die in one shot.

think carefully about this. by the time you get max level you have way more of the red currency than you need to get every character in the game

the only other purpose of the red currency is to buy alternate legendary skins in the shop, HOWEVER, you must have the original legendary skin before you can buy the alternate one. The original legendary skin can ONLY BE PURCHASED WITH THE YELLOW COINS (REAL MONEY).

It's just another scumbag EA strategy to get you to spend your money. But why would you spend money on this game when they don't seem to care about the longevity? The battlepass is beyond underwhelming, the content updates are almost non-existent. Why would I invest in a game that is very clearly going to die?

Imagine if instead of mirages clones doing nothing when he pops his ult, they all move sporadically and fire loud annoying blanks at enemies. It would be a real distraction

Attached: 1556134400980.jpg (1366x1366, 209K)

>this gets really old really fast
Agreed. Red currency is still valid for future legends.

The creature...

Yea that's what I enjoy about it, the fast paced action and being able to climb things and do wall jumps and stuff.

The thing is, building is the reason fortnite is fun. Take away building and fortnite is a mediocre shooter. Movement isn't fluid, lots of the weapons are bloom based, and it's not very fast. Building is what allows for such a high skill ceiling and is what keeps a good portion of the community playing. The problem is unless you drill yourself in creative and watch a ton of tutorials, becoming good at building doesn't happen organically. They need to set up a ton of in game tutorials or something. Otherwise there will always be a huge divide within the community. The skill gap is too damn wide and it means both sides want a completely different game.

There's going to be many more legends I am sure. Octane was rumored on here and not too long after he actually was released.

except they update the game with new content so slowly that by the time they release a legend you have 10x the red shit you need to buy it

why not make them free at that point?

Exactly, as I said in another post. Stuff like that is intuitive. I see a wall and figure, hey I can climb that. With fortnite, you really think most players would have figured out how to do 90s without being taught?

So I can totally see why some people see apex as the better designed game

They weren’t forced to work 100 hours per day creating content like a chink like how Epic does for their devs

Right. What I don't get is that they bragged about how they don't do duplicates and that every Nth box has a legendary item/skin in it, and how you are guaranteed to get a heirloom set in your first 3000 boxes or something, but then make it so you don't get boxes in every level and that you can't get boxes after level 100. That's pretty trash.

Yes compared to fortnite they aren't as fast in regards of releasing new content. From what I've read on here, epic game designers are worked like slaves, so in a sense I think fortnite has set an unrealistic expectations to follow in terms of content to be released. I think apex legends will be here for quite some time. They just need to fix a couple of things. Despite the constant complaints about the game, I still find it entertaining and don't see myself dropping it any time soon.

Anyone know when the next update is?

Attached: 1533591817784.png (473x468, 312K)

Pesky shill.

>expecting updates
Wanna know how I know you're new to the game?

I see how it would come off that way. I love fortnite too and am looking forward to this week's set of challenges. Can't wait for my luxe skin and the lion mask guy second skin.

Fortnite responded to fan complaints by copying good features from APEX like the revive mechanic and ping system. Fortnite changed for the better, so people had little reason to move on just yet.

It probably didn't help that EA paid streamers a ton to stream the game and then all the streamers left when the money stopped flowing. If apex had grown organically, it would still be alive

incompetent devs

it's been almost 2 months since the game came out and they have released 1 gun and 1 character

Additionally, this 1 character that they have "added" to the game was ALREADY IN THE FUCKING GAME ALONG WITH 1 OTHER CHARACTER WHEN IT WAS PLAYTESTED BEFORE THE GAME EVEN CAME OUT.

dotesports.com/apex-legends/news/shroud-reveals-he-playtested-octane-and-wattson-for-apex-legends

Tutorials would definitely make the game much more interesting. Though given the fact that streamers are big in fortnite, they probably assume that anyone who cares to play competitively will just watch how the competitive players do it. I find myself being able to take out fancy builders from time to time. It used to be intimidating but I've come to learn that just because someone can build good, doesn't mean they are good in combat. Once you get over the intimidation of good builders, you tend to learn weak spots and exploits to counter such things. If they can build and combat well, then more often than not they'll destroy you.

There's just no beating fortnite when it comes to BR games. If people really wanna kill fortnite, we need a new popular genre. Then again, people will just hate on that new genre too

give me a fun game in the dayz genre :(

Despite this, I still find the game refreshing.

that's just because you haven't played it enough

I'm shocked that epic hasn't made some damn tutorials already. The game was already fucking hard when I started in season 4. I can only imagine a new player starting now. They'd be overwhelmed.

Flatline support and devs that didn't understand how to balance their own game.

Maybe. I see people with over a thousand wins and +2000 kills. Clearly I haven't been playing it as much or as long as some people.

It doesn't appeal to kids the same way. Kids fucking love Fortnite. They love the skinner box contraptions around everything imaginable (skins, guns, emotes, parachutes, seasons, daily goals etc.). They love the Marvel tie ins. They love watching Twitch streamers and Youtubers play it. They love the cartoony design. they love the ever whacky llamas and shit. It is a game purely aimed at kids. And through kids you get into the parents pockets, and that shit is deep.

Have you ever played Fortnite? It honestly sucks as a shooter. If you have no interest in customization and lootboxes or emotes, it's pretty fuckin barebones. They're constantly adding in new vehicles meanwhile there's no standard layout for controls so one vehicles boost is the others stop and anothers jump. The gunplay is honestly just bleh, it's somehow sluggish and clunky at the same time. The building mechanic is appealing at first then becomes just a last ditch spam mechanic.

But kids don't care, they want the new skins to feel like they stand out and they love the in game "concerts" where they feel unique and like they have friends. And they're parents will hand money off because they don't care.

It's honestly pretty fucking evil when you conceptualize it.

>It's honestly pretty fucking evil when you conceptualize it.
Agreed. Fortnite is more than just a game now too. As you've mentioned the streamers, the marvel, the celebrities/entertainers playing it, the e celeb streamers, the colorful skins and silly emotes, it's clearly targeted to kids. These people have taken advantage of this problem in our modern society to fill their pockets with money.

Lack of updates.
Cmon Fortnite updates fucking weekly.
Shit engine.
200ms hitregistration delay (as tested by battle(non)sense the digitalfoundry of netcode and networking in games.
Battlepass that no one were interested in, had shit fucking skins in it and the tier 100 was just a shop skin.

Honestly, the absolute shitshow of a battle pass made me drop the game completely.
I don't know how you can drop a fortnite killer and then just let it starve to death.

Attached: 1555814594596.png (508x722, 209K)

>forced 3 man
why bother

>mansions
nigga they just random build up, they don't make actual forts. Even in Save the World it's rare to come across people who make good forts.

I was totally ready to buy the battle pass and yeah after I saw how needlessly obtuse and worthless it was I quickly decided against that shit
I get that it's a free game and the cosmetic shit is gonna cost money but when your legendary gun skins are fucking $18 a pop idk how anyone could stomach paying that much for it

Thing is, apex was literally never going to be a fortnite killer. EA didn't have the infrastructure in place to compete with weekly updates and the number of people interested in Apex was nowhere near as high as you think. All of the hype was new age marketing. EA paid streamers to play the game. Apex is fun but there's nothing revolutionary about it. The only thing it was ever meant to kill was itself. It couldn't compete in the BR space

I'm a retard who dumps hundreds into cosmetics when I pick up games and the fact none of the skins were really unique textures, just copy+pasted material replacements and that most of the skins were just palette swaps made me not even spend a single cent on this game.
Not to mention there weren't any cute characters to main.
