Games that need a rerelease
It's not that good outside of the artstyle and soundtrack. Let go of your nostalgia and maybe get laid while you're at it.

Every decent Dreamcast game. And a while bunch of Japanese games that weren't localised.

Too bad there's nothing for Jazz, she's cute too
BUT we still have our QUEEN!
I’ve played it recently and had an absolute fucking blast with it. It’s fun as fuck to just skate and grind around Tokyo-to.
Cube is great.

Is the NightDive remaster actually happening?
This one too.

Good game, held back by Early 3D game syndrome.
Should they remake this, would be absolute kino.
Where the fuck is it? Where did it go?
How do you think a remake would handle the shitty thing that happens?
I would hope they would either replace it with some key items to gather, or just reuquire a certain percentage rather than all.
But user, how else are we at CAPCOM® going to persuade you to buy a ludicrously overpriced and foolishly designed CAPCOM® Home Arcade which includes 16 classic arcade games from the '90s, 1 of which includes Alien™ vs. Predator™? Why for the low price of 229.99€*, you too can now play Alien™ vs. Predator™ in the comfort of your own home!
*Price subject to change. Does not include S&H and taxes.
why the fuck is rhyth so fat tho cuz?
and your point? the music and art style are more than enough to warrant a re-release. the gameplay is competent. not every game needs to be a ball busting grind. sometimes its good to just soak yourself in some beautiful aesthetics and chill
the game is fucking gold and the only parts it drags are the sewer and the fortified residential zone
Only played JGR on DC and it was fucking awful. Is this any better or is it the exact same clumsy fucking controls and gameplay that I can't imagine anyone giving a shit about?
It's one of the best 3D platforming games ever released, and isn't good simply because of gameplay. It's a whole package.
bad taste
the Sewers are one of the most challenging zones
crocodiles were tight
fortified residential zone was on of the last two that cucked me out of unlocking every challenge and thus every character in the game with its "Get this many points in a grind" objective.
It's way better. Jet Set/Grind Radio is a contrarian pick.
This. The aesthetic and insane amount of charm really help pull it together, especially when combined with the godlike soundtrack.

yikes
the controls and trick system are a massive improvement from the first game
get some taste
it's got a pc release
on emulator!
>Is this any better or is it the exact same clumsy fucking controls and gameplay that I can't imagine anyone giving a shit about?
it's a big big revamp actually
the controls are much better and more responsive and you can manually control which tricks you do
the game structure is way different, it's more of an open world collectathon then just getting all the tags under a time limit
Neat. I always wondered why JGR was so bad and people always praised JSRF.
it's just another way of calling people virgins and upsetting your targets for all the same reasons
>people always praised JSRF
you won't see that on Yea Forums because 95% of browsers have never owned an Xbox
it's why Xbox games are almost never on Best Of lists unless they also happened to have a PC release
The controls are much more improved and smoothed out compared to the original. Way faster too.
Yeah, I never had an xbox either. I really fell out of favor with consoles at that time (still don't care for them) and didn't fucking bother.
You guys ever watched EscapeRouteBritish's video series on the sampling Naganuma used?

he's an English neckbeard weeb who these days does reviews and gameplay streams of obscure Japanese games, usually abandonware
you genuinely missed out
in fact, a consensus is slowly growing, at least online, that Generation 6 was actually the best era of gaming to date.
Not as stilted as retro, not as stagnant as Gen 7 onward.
Does it though? Does it really?
I'd only care about it if they made it so that playing online with others was possible. You'd be hard pressed to find opponents for this and other Xbox and Xbox 360 games in real life.
I dabbled with a Gamecube and PS2 and really couldn't find very many games I cared about. It seemed to be going toward very style over substance at that point, something I despise.
I honestly started seeing gaming decline for me in the PS1/N64 generation, which is why I was so jaded and burned out at that point. Still think the NES/its library was the best console ever.
Why was this game so damn comfy, Yea Forums?
I replay this game every few years and this is a pretty bullshit statement. The game aged really well. The floaty inconsistent gameplay of the previous game was insanely improved upon and tightened up considerably and a lot of the stages take full advantage of this by having huge multi-tiered levels with all sorts of fun ways to travel around them. The roller coaster level is a true testament to that, probably more complex level than most games are today.
The cell shaded artstyle still looks loud and fun and fits the overall mood. The music has always been the high point and I cant think of any other game genre so defined by a music style.
Replay the game, whatever the opposite of rose colored glasses are, you need to take em off. Oldie but a Goodie
I honest to God hope that one day Sega finds a way to port it to modern consoles. This game really deserves more attention and I would love to see more people come to love it as much as I do.
My JSRF came with this game and I ended up playing it way more than JSRF. Never really got into a racing game as much as Sega GT. Would be really nice to be able to play it again without getting another xbox
I doubt there's no game I could present to you from Dreamcast, Xbox, Gamecube, or Playstation 2 that fills the same niche as your NES era games and arguably does it better
the aesthetic, the mood, the controls
>IIIIIIIIII lovey lovey lovey you
>awwww BEEP BEEP
I like JSR for a lot of reasons but it mainly boils down to nostalgia. I still love the game to death but JSRF is really the better choice overall.

Are there any other games with JSRF’s kind of style/aesthetic? Some of the ones that come to mind are TWEWY and Splatoon.
Anyone got any JSRF-sequel fanfiction game ideas?
Lethal League Blaze is an indie game with JSR asthetics, but it is it's own thing and does it well from what I've heard.
Still stuck with that shit PC port
Why hasn't Sega remade or ported the game yet? Surely they can see that JSRF will sell better than whatever Sonic game they've got planned next.
Maybe music licence or Microsoft issues that they can't be bothered sorting out.
Sunset Overdrive, though it's not cel shaded.
As much I hate to admit it, both games have sold terribly. Even lazy Sonic games sell in the millions regardless of quality. I do think a JSRF rereleased would do better with proper marketing/advertisement.
microsoft owns the rights to future. it's the same deal as bayo 2 and nintendo
They lost the source code.
JSRF was not published by Microsoft. They have no control over the game whatsoever.
If that's true, then why the fuck isnt it compatible with the Xbox One yet? It's not like Microsoft doesnt have the dough/legal team to make all the licensing problems dissapear.
I cant believe theres no way to replay levels in Jet Set Radio. Like wtf, the game has scores, I want to get a better score than I got on my first try.
>lots of people lots love Tony Hawk Pro Skater.
>Nobody has ever once mention this crap
ur game died cause it was mediocre. what do you want, a third place trophy?
Emulation for this game is slowly making some moves, I genuinely think that is going to be our only chance at curing my nostalgic boner.
It was already re-released.
On the 360 and I think it was on steam?
The rerelease should let you retry for a Jet Rank after completing a level. Dont know about the original.
it's 100% because tagging in JSR took fucking FOREVER
in JSRF it's one trigger press = one spray
you can hit the skids, slide past an XL size tag, and complete it in the time it would take you to do a S size tag in JSR with the stupid fucking directional presses
>Let go of your nostalgia
I've never even played it, that's why I want a HD release of it on PC so I can
You want your video entertainment game? Sure, we'll just have to remove some songs is all.
As long as I choose what's on the chopping block, we've got a deal
The OST isn't flawless
>Wanted to play it so much
>Rerelease never so ended up buying the original version to play it in 360
There is some slowdown but game is great.
>He doesn't have an emulator
God you're pathetic
So we can all agree Jet Set Radio Future belongs in the Top 25 Best Games of All Time canon
>crinkling
wtf man?
JSR was better
No, the thing on Steam is the inferior Jet Set Radio. We want the improved Jet Set Radio Future.
Is Future a sequel or an enchanted edition or?
First Post Always BEST Post. Fuck Jet Set Gaydio.
This. Just removing Birthday Cake would bring this game up from an 8/10 to a 9/10.
Faggot
>implying I want to deal with some shitty emulator
I even have the game and the console to go with it, but I can't be assed to set it up on my tv.
Ps. nice funnyjunk filename
>this taste
based
Lets be honest: you have nothing to compare it to and hold up as better.
games whose graphics haven't aged
Every now and again I hook up my 360 and play this. I dont mind the 4:3 ratio, kinda adds to the charm, I wish I could play it without the lag in 99th street though
You know there's more to life than being a miserable fuck shitting on everything people like
The fuck are you on about? This shit still looks great, even to this day.
youtu.be
No. P4G is objectively worse than 4. The new events are stupid af like them making a band, the new opening isnt half as good as the og game, Marie fucking SUCKS, and they ruin the bittersweet ending by having him go back.
Just get rid of Birthday Cake and we're fine.
Dont think I havent noticed them turning Ryth into a disgusting pig, lemme geuss, tumblr?
SHUT UP AND EAT
I can understand how you misunderstood but you're also dumb
the implication was that both JSRF and SH3 still look great
Why do people like that song? Do you really enjoy hearing a screeching bitch for 3 minutes in damn near every level?
yeah and replace it with soft piano music because I can't handle energy
Ah, sorry. Thought you were that other guy was responding.
the aggressiveness of the scream, faggot
Clutch gives it away; everyone else is on the borderline of outting it
I love those areas
CMON CMON
LISTEN TO THE SCRAPPY
>hearing a screeching bitch for 3 minutes
this is a blatant misrepresentation of the song; you don't deserve a genuine answer, just to be reminded your taste on this matter is shit and unrespectable
I don't give a flying fuck tho
Its almost a new game entirely. Instead of being a kinda awkward arcade quicktime time, its a open world collectathon. Outside the aesthetic, the best part is the controls, its just fun moving around Tokyoto
Who was your main? I always went with my boy Yoyo.
With games like this and THPS that have music license issues, why not just release the game with an option to add the music from your library?
no one / hardly anyone unlocked: Yoyo, perhaps Corn
midgame: Garam
endgame: Jazz
everyone unlocked: can't remember exactly, nor did I have the chance to unlock everyone anyway unfortunately
only ones I generally disliked were Gum and Clutch, with some other duds like Soda
I wasn't good enough at the game to unlock characters. I was like 8, man. It's why I need the game to come back, so I can show that one skyscraper jump who is boss!
looping and track switching would be iffy
you also need to remember that each area has its own premade playlist that was specifically tailored to their atmospheres
new players would have no clue how to recreate that, and it's still an annoyance for veterans
Potts at the end of the game, but mostly Beat
I love most of the rest of the soundtrack, so I can handle energy.
It's literally painful to listen to.
How would you describe the song then?
for sure, but it's better than never seeing them again. Also, it's a lot more simple for THPS. Would be great to see a THPS collection (1-4).
Fatal Frame 4

I kinda dig the song but I cant say he's wrong. The while point is being unconventional so she does screech and she does rap off beat, theres random record skipping added in. By all accounts I dont blame people getting put off, it almost seems like the point
JSRF Jet Set Radio Future dances dance dancing video deleted off YouTube long ago

>I kinda dig the song but I cant say he's wrong
he is wrong; reread exactly what was written
>How would you describe the song then?
there is screeching---during the chorus, and some other parts, like "EXTRA SUGAR"
other parts, there's some moderate rapping, and a little bit of soft crooning
it is not nearly as harsh as you are remembering it
Funny thing about that is that Cibo Matto is actually a good act with some solid as hell albums. Why Sega chose their single most abrasive song to put in a video game is beyond me but I'm not shocked at all that Naganuma found it tasteful to include them at all in the game. On its own merits though I think Birthday Cake's a pretty funny song.
What was written was a none answer and a lie about you not caring
Ryth and Corn
emuparadise.me
I have this. Does anyone want it?
It seems a lot of people have forgotten how soulful the soundtrack is and need to burn it on a CD, pop it into their boombox, and remind themselves.
>a lie about you not caring
it was mainly a reference to the song; it's in the full version, uncensored
>What was written was a none answer
whatever you call it, better than the original hyperbole
Birthday Cake is one of only two, maybe three good songs on the album it is featured in and from which they would have been able to draw from at the time
yeah plz FLAC
Viva! La Woman's good throughout, it's just a bit weird. Also, Stereo Type A wasn't out by the time JSRF was out? Thought that was a late 90s release, it should predate the Xbox.
>Implying you don't use one because your computer is shit
Pss. no you
they're in .mp3
it's also too big for catbox
Corn/Combo/Garam/Cube mostly. They're cool as fuck (even if Cube has that dorky ass laugh), but the whole cast's design is great overall.
uh its okay, thx based user
Wow he's holding a mic not eating a hotdog. That's like 18 years I've been seeing this wrong.
Seriously though the graffiti, the billboards, shit you just see plastered on walls, they all made up such a great environment.
Put it on mega
I'm trying to get good at drawing, sketched up Corn from the original when I was bored. How did I do?
You can always put it on Soulseek. Shit's handy as fuck.
It's playable in Cxbx-Reloaded now? Is it better than the 360's Xbox emulator?
fitting style, but I think it'd be improved if you drew JSRF Corn instead
>that troll who shows up once a month claiming it'll be on Xbox One BC soon
God I wish
>a consensus is slowly growing, at least online, that Generation 6 was actually the best era of gaming to date.
If we are talking about consoles only, then I am inclined to agree. Only difference is that Gen 5 rivals Gen 6 quite a bit for me.
unrelated, but sometime I gotta check the releases of PC games during the separate console generations.
I would love if Lost Odyssey would get released in consoles other than Xbox.
You've got a good point user, he's fucking cool. I'll try him sometime.
soulless vs soul
Miyamoto can draw?
Never happening because the music rights is being held by a prirvate group
Apparently he can, yeah. Just looked it up.
If I'm not mistaken, most of the licensed music came from Grand Royale records, right? Didn't a group of fans seize the rights after it went defunct?
