actually incorporate the power of friendship message into the gameplay. every single evolution now happens based on either friendship or affection levels. potentially do the same for learning moves
rework ivs and base stats. ivs were meant to make every pokemon unique, they instead turn people into monsters breeding hundreds of pokemon and throwing them in the trash until they get the one perfect ubermensch. you could lower base stats across the board and make them semi-randomized so you can get a chansey with a shit ton of health like they currently have, or you could get one with a shit ton of physical attack. ev training would be more important and would let you steer the growth of your pokemon
